I dunno, that was more another list of snipe’s and added globe threat rather than the ‘put up or shut up’ requested. Stw’ers eh!

Use planet x for plenty of bits over the years and like them as a company, I’m a bit wary about spending expensive items from them as they sometimes seem to lack the eye for detail. Cranks coming with washer missing, weights being way out of the advertised. Most recently I picked up some model c wheels for the commuter, they were advertised as with qr’s but none arrived. Email sent and quick response with new qr’s arriving with non matching logo’s. Only a minor detail for the price, so didn’t bother to follow it up. I was also looking to dispose of a significantly larger amount of cash on some new race wheels, but the money didn’t go to planet x, if I’m spending big, I want the service to match. I’ll use px again, but only for lower end kit.

I bought a pair of relaxed formal/smart casual trousers

I think I would rather smear my legs with dog shite.

Been using some Hutchison atoms on some ultegra wheels tubeless on the winter bike, trouble free but I can say I can tell that much difference to running the same wheels with tubes, but I really need to drop the pressure’s a bit. I’m on the second set of atom’s, but they are not really a tyre for every day use. I didn’t really intend to go tubless, but I got the ultegra’s at a bargain price for winter so thought I’d give it a blast and to be fair the ultegra’s aren’t the lightest wheels and they are attached to a pretty sturdy alu frame so I may not be getting the most out of the ‘tubless effect’. No issues with punctures, but at 67kg it has not really been an issue for me with tubes either. I’d certainly consider tubless for a set of race wheels when I next need a pair as choice should have expanded a bit by then.

Just to say thanks to all, we did the national museum and fed some ducks and had a pinic. Sadly, looks like Iike I’ll be uncle buck for at least a few more days if not longer, so will have a crack at everything suggested.

Thanks again, and gordy that was a fantastic offer! But we are having to be a bit flexible with our schedule.

Thank’s all sounding good, I am also going to employ the power of Google ‘al, but a bit of local knowledge and real person help and advice is welcomed and much appreciated 🙂 this really wasn’t a planned trip sadly.

Cheers eemy, any one in particular? We did the whole walking every inch of the city centre yesterday, but due the fact i’d left Manchester at about 2am to get myself up here, I forgot to do the picking up leaflets or noting what we could do today bit….

I’m not sure there are many more difficult subjects to bring up with your partner, it will require some seriously sensitive handling, and not just on one occasion. The journey to weight loss, if she wants it, will be a long tough road and there will be many tears along the way. It might actually be easier just to bin her and get a new one.

Looks a lot less exciting than shining cliff or drum hill, is it shipley park or the nutbrook trail.

Camera guy was bound to be dressed like a plump power ranger, it would have probably taken a nuclear strike to cause him any damage. But at least bumblebee guy tried.

I can see what an utter waste of time it is to argue online

Very true, particularly as more fun can be had by just making arsey/ smug/ condescending/ bell endish* comments and then just walking away without any angst.

    *delete as appropriate.

I don’t see many younger blokes on ti road bikes, they seem to be a 40th birthday treat, so I can’t see the Roubaix really trashing your image.

So all those Facebook or ‘a life’ folk, feel that people posting banal dross for their friends and family to comment is so much less worthwhile than posting banal dross on a forum for random strangers to comment on then?
    Hmmm ok.

If you were being honest you weren’t even drinking enough to make your GP raise an eyebrow, so I would doubt you will notice to much difference other than on your morning afters. You might find yourself becoming more sanctimonious about others drinking, and let’s face no one really likes going for a pint with a non-drinker (unless they offer to drive).

Imo, and all the usual caveats, the red front mech is a bit flexi and doesn’t give a positive shift at the best of times. For the same reason I think they are more sensitive to poor set up, sticking cables etc. If you have been using it for a while you may have just got used to it, but I find the shimano mechs are more sturdy and give a more positive shift. I certainly no pro, but I race a lot, and just like my kit to work without me having to worry. This years red has ditched the carbon plate and gone for steel iirc, to also sort it.

I never thought the f mech was good to begin with, but I don’t know what happened to yours. 6600 will work as pointed out earlier.

Was serious advice from me also, sram f mechs are a bit grim, I love the rest of the groupset. Cheap fix, that will improve the front shifting no end. I guess it depends if you want it to work or match.

I swapped both the red front mechs on my race bikes for ultegra, that sorted the shite shifting. Sram have beefed up this years red f mech to sort this.

    +1 davidtaylforth.

I believe the op may be above us.

My point being why would Road riding put you off biking ?.

Oh yeah, because there is just the slightest possibility they may be a troll, or a ‘tard.

And the pendulum swings back to fp…..it seems odd that brant, who i’m sure never thought such a tweet would never be picked up on and discussed on a forum where he seem omnipresent, has not made further comment.

He announced on Facebook it was a week.

FFS, he really does need to get a grip. Much, as actually quite like him being here, he does take it all far to seriously. I kind of wish he finds a life during his ban.
