From the conversations relating to the devastating effect a weekends road racing, energy products and some booze has had on my digestive system. To be fair, once I’ve taken a viper boost bar there can be trouble for days.

Fair point, I forgot it was you lot promoting every latest invention. I’m begining to wonder if this could be linked to disposable income…..

This is like a flash back to the older 29’er threads, same faces saying the same stuff, it’s like rats trapped in a maze with no exit. Awesome 8)

I like my cb products, but I also find myself going out with women who are stunning to look at, but high maintenance and frankly, a bit of a pain in the arse. You pays your money, and takes your choice. At least the cb warranty makes their products easier to live with than my standard girlfriend choice.

My first mtb was an Orange clockwork, and it was great, but oddly have not considered another one of their bikes in the last 15 years. Can’t say I have anything against the company, they just seem a bit pricey to me, but at least they are open about it.

Generally out of bed by 6am, nothing to do with work or kids, it’s just when I get up. Was out on the road bike by 5am this morning, after going to bed about half midnight. I’ve done 66 miles, i’ve got a family lunch ahead, and then intend to be on the ale in central Manchester by 3pm. I’ve now got a couple of hours chilling time; now the lawn, read the paper and eat the massive fried egg sarnie I’ve got and have a brew. No way I’d fit all the stuff I want to do in, if I was lazing around in bed, I count myself lucky that I consider 5 hours sleep a good night

Even if it’s not just you, it just means we have more than one dimwitted tool lurking in our midst. Do horses on roads make you fume as well?

Someone check the “big hitters thread” rota!

Reasonable turnout thus far, but needs a few more suckers contributors to be lured in with the hope of a meaningful debate 🙂

It’s not my first choice, but I found the hamsters to hard to train 🙂

and walked away telling my dogs in a loud voice that the dogs owner was a ….king idiot.

Would they not have been happier if you had just dropped your grits and let them sniff your bum instead?

I work across A&E’s, acute hospitals and in the community; I think the chance these records will contain information that is accurate, up to date or even ‘yours’ is next to **** all. Strikes me spending a fiver on the system would be waste of public monies.

Why would you want to maintain a relationship with the sort of lowlife scum that would park on a grass verge. Down five cans of Stella and then get yourself round there and have it out, if debate doesn’t seem to be progressing things just remember furious fists say more than words ever can. Don’t forget to then use his front lawn as a toilet.

you would be right on the lower limit size wise.

Respect to Alan, with that patter you should work in my lbs! Why fit the bike to the person ‘shorter stem, inline post, job will be a good ‘un and you’ll be bang on trend’.

CG – on the road descending mount etna, I’ve no recollection of what happened or the 48 hours before or after, I just woke up in hospital a very unhappy and confused bunny. It did appear I took most of the impact on my face! I had about 5 months off the bike, as I couldn’t take being rattled about without awful head and dental pain and once back on it did take me about 18 months to get back into racing fully committed, and every now and again when descending at speed I do have to ‘have a word’ with myself to make sure I keep fully on the gas. On the bright side I was very pretty and the scars have left me looking a bit more rugged 😉 Small steps, you get back into it, and you can love it again!

Hope light ordered past midnight Wednesday, dispatch email yesterday, light arrived today. They have never skipped a beat for me in years. Merlin, high on bikes and wiggle the same. UKbikestore, ribble, px and probikekit have been minor delays but i’d shop at all again. Rose bike and actionsports have been great from europe. All better than any lbs i’ve been in.

I’ve used ultra’s, 4000’s and 4 seasons on my k elites which are pretty much my stock training wheel; all go on fine in 23mm, never tried bigger. If you are anxious, the 4 seasons may offer you a bit more confidence, I doubt you would notice much difference in rolling.

Edit – as a chap who has had 2 lots of facial plastic surgery and 6k of dental work to restore my face to it’s former glory following a crash, i’d recommend not focusing on parts, just start where you can and build yourself back into it, it can take a while.

Was there a thread ‘another dead cyclist’ that I missed? I can’t get with all the hand wringing about this. I head out on 23mm of 2 wheeled rubber in some lycra with a poxy helmet on and play with faster moving large lumps of metal; and both them and me are prone to making stupid decisions and I’m supposed to think it doesn’t come with some risks.
And then I could camera myself up to alert me, and allow me to dwell on situations that I would otherwise not have seen or forgotten by the time I get to work. Why would I want to do that.
Oddly I love riding my bike, in traffic or not in traffic, I find it great fun.

Couldashouldawoulda – I agree I doubt when rm posted the add for the brakes he probably wasn’t intending to rip someone off. But his actions in not resolving the situation were not an accident so the outcome was the same. I used to really enjoy rm’s posts, and despite the fact I very, very rarely get moral about anything on here, until I hear he made good the situation I’ll see him as a common thief. As for his latest ad it seems to suggest rm has no regrets; STW are happy for him to post, so I just hope they are as happy for others to comment.

It does appear a side benefits of being a paying ‘premier member’ is that you can rob people and continue posting, nice perk.
