Given the clip seems to start with him being grabbed, you’ve read a lot into that. Top hand wringing, the foundation of stw’ing. Although it did seem a bit harsh to run his bike over.

I think I would feel more of a douche on a road bike with loads of baggy mtb clothing flapping around and a massive back pack full of needless kit, straining out to see from under my helmet peak. Just pull on some lycra and have at it; 99.9% of people really won’t be looking or give a toss. Rapha do a touring short thing, which is a half way house if you are desperate to spend money.

LOL, it’s genuinely bonkers. If he could access the potential ‘baskets’ on his site he would see there is a pair of clinchers, black hubs and white spokes waiting to go. Just bonkers, I’ve given my money to pricks before, but they are usually clever enough to wait till they have it before they act like it.

No but my money will be heading there, shame you could have put it towards a course in marketing.

I don’t mind the chap doing a bit of spamming, even though he is coming across a bit mental now. But the fact he won’t even answer the questions is just silly. His loss I guess, back to carbonzone or deng fu.

Mr yoeleo/ Joe77bike, wonderful cyclings to you to! I don’t mind if you are doing a spot of stealth marketing. I’m wanting to pull the trigger on some 38mm carbon clinchers from yeoleo; what is the approx delivery time to the UK? If I spec white spokes will this lead to any extra time needed for build? I take it the site prices are in usd? can I get a Colnago bottle holder to, it would look rather nice on my own colnago, Cheers

Not worth such a small bet on wiggo with his odds. I’ve had a punt on nibali, better fun with the green, and the kom is even more fun. I don’t think cav will ride to Paris (and in my heart couldn’t see him getting the support if wiggo holds good), so the green could be quite open, I’ve got money on 2 for it.

Boiled in hot water for ten mins followed by a minute dangled over the gas hob.

Realman may be a total douche, but this is probably a bit harsh.

I did a 112 mile road ride on Sunday, returning in time to pop to one of my local pubs with a mate where I had a lovely homemade tuna pasta bake with garlic bread, and some extra garlic bread (I thought my bloated football watching 65kg frame could take it). Had a few pints of fine ale, and watched the match in the beer garden, which was surprisingly quiet. Not a great match and the right team won, and then we watched the super league show on the iplayer over the pubs wifi. I had a great day. On the saturday, I had an early ride and then headed to Birmingham for an afternoon of athletic’s, which was was also top. Cracking weekend, not sure I had time to be a hater, but I’ll try harder in future.

Just slash in your pants, no hand washing issues and it will make you appear slightly aloof.

Decided to stop being a pysch nurse, and worked on a north sea supply vessel for 9 months. Lived in Norway, didn’t earn alot and got very wet. Saw some brilliant storms, but it would have been eaasier to punch a dog in the face.

If you interchange the bits a lot, then yes. If you don’t and you like the campag, why bother? Swap when it breaks.

This really is a thread for the same old bores that really can’t help themselves. I’ll be donning my foil helmet and nothing new to see here glasses 🙂

It’s mainly the wet noses ire at the rules that keeps me quoting them. I find them a bit of a giggle but worry for anyone that believes them or gets upset by them.

Back the op, there just is no need for one.

I’ve got the same bars but mine are 6 years old, should I replace them. I tend to swap my carbon road race bikes every 3 years or so, but that’s more about being lucky enough to be able to do so. Only broke one carbon road bike, but that was after I stuffed the wheel in a pot hole taking evasive action. So really it was the alu wheel that broke and collapsed resulting in the forks being driven into the ground and breaking, I think they would have broke had they been steel or alu. I’ve broke 2 steel and 2 alu frames over the years. Perhaps I should replace my Soul 😀

Philfive – No you are right it should make you angry, so my apologies. I’m lucky enough to be a posistion where I can do some voluntary work with a couple of sports focused youth projects in north manchester, and I guess that’s how I channel my ire at stuff like this, I figure I can’t moan about about other’s not doing if I’m not doing something myself. But I do sometimes get on my high horse about ranting, but as I know nothing about you or what you do, it was wrong to have a dig. No offense intended, as said, my apols.

I spent a month in the states, picked up my parlee, rode it for 3 weeks brought it home, no tax no worries. I plan to do similar this summer to bring back a new one to attach my di2 to 👿 be interesting to see what airport scanners make of a suitcase full of electronic transmission and a saddle. I may pre-lube myself and just try and enjoy the attention.

Don’t mention lbs pricing on here, there are some sensitive flowers.

Give all that up and watch big brother/voice/talent shows

Yes, do this whilst drinking cheap cider, eating takeaway and being sat in your own mess.

A couple of years ago the woodbine cafe served me a toasty of misery with a side of rotting salad, my complaints were met with disinterest, so I’ve not been back since. Outside cafe’s in hathersage and grindleford ftw!

    You’ve missed the point.

I probably have; as I said I wouldn’t behave in a manner the OP stated, but I guess wanted to highlight that respect should be both ways. I pay full rrp when needed and when I want more than just the product, but the fact I would CHOOSE to save money on items at other times means I’m some kind of tosser in the eyes of folk like richiethesilverfish. I guess this belief that I shouldn’t choose, was the arrogance I was wanting to highlight from some shops etc.

edit – you are right richie, if you can’t understand what I said, we won’t. I’ll back away from the post to, and wish you a great weekend.

In a store you’re paying for someone’s time, someone’s expertise AND the product.

someone’s time – which I will still get online, as all I want them to do is essentially hand me THE item.

someone’s expertise – I don’t know how EXPERT I need someone to be to hand me some cranks? and a very dubious claim when I consider most of the lbs SHOP staff I have dealt with.

As I said, when I NEED thoSe things I will pay for them; but don’t expect me to FUND what I don’t need. If no one needed what I offered at work, they would get rid of me, what makeS you so lucky?

Smell_it – Are you REALLY suggesting that you think it’s outrageous for a shop to expect a customer to pay the Recommended Retail Price?

REALLY! No, shops can charge what they like. But it’s outrageous to believe I will pay it when I can get it cheaper online; can you understand that?
I paid full rrp for my parlee because that wasn’t going to be available for any less anywhere else, but the last cranks I bought were over a hundred quid cheaper on line, so I bought them on line. It’s not that tough to grasp.

I wouldn’t dream of behaving in the manner the op describes, but given the fact most lbs’s I’ve been in seem to expect that I’ll be happy to pay whatever the catalogue says and wait for a undetermined time for it to arrive, then I don’t go into my lbs’s. Perhaps I should start my own thread, brassneck in lbs; they expect me to pay that! And don’t seem interested in negotiating. Respect should be both ways imho.

I had a good friend have almost a mirror situation with litespeed over a road, I wouldn’t buy anything from them and will tell anyone who will listen their story to warn them. I will add the op’s tale to this to. Company of shister’s.

Road crash descending Mount Etna; I don’t really recall what happened I just woke up in hospital a very unhappy confused bunny, but I guess my front wheel washed out seemingly on a straightish bit?? Took the impact on my face breaking my nose, jaw and cheek bone. I lost 9 teeth, and a lot of skin from a variety of parts of my face and body. The hospital did a great job putting me all back together, with pins and some facial surgery to put my bottom lip straight, and after a further nose job and a lot of expensive dental work my new smile is actually far better than my old one. I do tend to keep a bit of a 5 o’clock shadow though as it masks a few of the scars. Rather interestingly they took some skin from just above and to the left of my ‘little fella’ to graft onto my hand and little finger, and I now get ‘pubes’ growing from near my left little finger knuckle.

Midweek club runs are like that, they tend to have fast and slow groups if you are worried about getting dropped.

A lot of clubs will run a mid week chain, which is open to all. Most sportive’s I have done have been filled with a lot of riders who don’t seem to have any experience of riding in a pack, and you can get some quite poor riding. But they are fun if you want a bit of that ‘event’ feel, but the price of some is bonkers this year. Local chain gangs, and perhaps the odd race is by far more fun and cheaper. That said, some of the longer standing sportive’s, like the Phil ligget, have a friendly feel. I find some of the newer ones, attract the ‘trail centre warriors’ of the road; posh car, pricey under used bike and little manners or ability.
