Surely if u just use the same bike all year round and clean the important bits after every ride then u dont need a ‘winter bike’.

I don’t want to be cleaning my bike 5-6 times per week.

Finished my run of nights this morning, headed straight off for a rather fine 84 road ride, just had some pub grub and three pints of holts whilst reading the papers. Proper woozy now, be a very early night and hopefully back into normal circulation tomorrow. I love pubs!

Yep, when I was in my early twenties and moving accommodation a fair bit, when I was unpacking i found one of my old favourite grot mags that i had not seen for about 4-5 years. I took a 10 minute break from unpacking for lovely hand sandy.

I opened this thread all excited wondering if my current manager was leaving. Then the disappointment set it when I clicked the link, and then my boss rang with another bullshit excuse to why he wasn’t going to be in on time. Which considering i’ve waited around for him in a hour of my own time after working through the night, hasn’t pleased me much. The incompetent lying bearded fat drain on public funds knob!
    And breath…..sorry about that

My experience with hope is the same as reggies above. Although I’m most likely to pick the path of increasing the land fill with cheap shimano’s as they used to last me the same time as a set of bearings for the hope.

Much as i can’t bare the ‘first they came for….’ pricks who i guess seem to feel this issue is on par with the holocaust. I won’t be signing the OP’s petition, it’s (ime) just a few fat knackers in combats driving some 4×4’s around the countryside whilst listening to some pile of shite 70’s soft rock Clarkson cd. Whilst i doubt they think much more of me, they should have the same rights.

I find most tv cookery shows pretty difficult to masturbate over, but Nigella’s is definitely easier than Saturday Kitchen.

I’d have gone straight round and had a dust up, i wish i could say i wouldn’t, but sadly it’s my nature. I’m 64kg of wirey pent up fury. I’m not one for stewing on stuff, if i hadn’t kicked off immediately, i’d just forget about it. I also wish my jazz was flammable.

I’ve got the model c’s which were a lighter iirc; they share the same px sl hubs i think. The bearings gave out in a few months of regular use and needed changing. Been running fine since and i only swapped the bearings for some cheapo ebay jobbies, so god knows how rubbish the px ones were. Not a hard job to swap them, but don’t expect px to offer any assistance on what bearings etc, why would they know what was in their own branded hubs, the pricks. But fortunately Google leads you to a few threads on branded with all the info you need as it seems i’m not the only one to have to do an early bearing change.

Edit – much as i would say the model c’s were fine for the money, i take the askiums at that price over them everytime.

I’m just glad 99% of folk don’t feel the need to stick all their stuff up in the bike forum before taking it to the classifieds.

My corner shop is a classic family run slightly grimy affair, over priced with a bizarre and random selection of products, and a small shelf of veg which is always past its best (i always assumed they were trying to sell the stuff the owners found in there own cupboards and thought ‘oh, don’t fancy that’). I have been going in at least 4/5 times a week with a cheery hello for nearly a decade, and receive not a flicker of recognition nor communication. I expect if i were to collapse and die in there they would barely be able to tell the police if they had seen me before. The wife though, makes the most fantastic samoses, which you buy loose from a bowl on the counter for 25p each. They are of such size that two makes for a fiery meal; two and a can of overpriced baked beans and you have my favourite Sunday lunch. In it’s own way i find my shop a very British experience of inner city life and one which is disappearing, and one which I will miss. But if i could be arsed to walk to Tesco my diet would be a he’ll of a lot better!

Lovely frames the caad 8, i’d pick one over that ribble anyday. On a budget, I’d live with the sora shifts to get that bike, they are not great shifts but the way some folk cry about them on here seems ott to me. Enjoy the bike, should be a blast and well worth some upgrades.

Not a Boardman or Obree fan then?

Both great cyclist’s but not on my heroes list. Be boring if we were all the same though.

I miss the good ole days when i could beat the missus with a stick, and life is really quite hard without a slave and i have no idea where I’m going to the surplus chemicals i got in to castrate the neighbours for being an abomination in the eyes of the sweet baby Jesus. It’s political correctness gawwn maaaaad! I also find it hard to drink my lovely can of the real thing with all those nudges making me spill it. I wonder when the the powers will realise nudging is inefficient and they could just get back to say, gunning down say a load of protesting miners to influence them……oh yeah. Two separate issues here, neatly confused into one, i wonder why…..

Well, it’s a bit like the mag, but the advice delivered in the forum will be angry and delivered by someone which has created their own list of self restricting rules than somehow allows them to feel superior to you. You’ll love it. It’s kind of like ringing a call centre in a far flung land, only all the call handlers have been jabbed with excessive amounts of testosterone and they believe you are trying to steal from them.

+ strava – it’s even got some of the lazy club lardy’s motivated instead if them just wanting to have a chat ( there are pubs for that) and di2.

    – Giant’s new steerer tube size; even their rep seemed pretty down hearted about it.

I know they want to boost the opportunities for small business to flourish, but forcing abortions into the back streets seems like a crappy place to start. Like most pro lifers, Hunt is a tube, but sadly i believe in free speech, so I’ll have to lump the shite they spout.

Innocent – for selling out to McD’s.
Sky – and I certainly wouldn’t ride around in their bike kit.
Fat people – they are just lazy.
