If you can get your hands on a book by D.Brian.Plummer “The Lakeland Terrier” lots of references to both Border and Patterdales as regarding their temperament.

Both hunting terriers so expect the chasing aggression etc comes with the breed

    Hi All

Thinking of spectating either the night ride or the Sunday xc marathon, however does anyone know the route or will it be a linked “Ride the Clwyds” affair
From the above pictures of last years event I can see that they have dropped down from the main ridge down towards Cilcain resevoirs

Out of interest, as the job market seems to be contracting at alarming rate and have spent all my working life in manufacturing I DO think I will be in the same job 65+, the organisation will not create jobs based on age and ability.
I suppose there is a possibility of moving with the job to the far East when we become to expensive compared to our competitors

Another side to this is the fact that we are having to work longer due to our “projected life exspecancy”, 82 years according to my pension statement.
As mentioned earlier I work 12hour shifts which I started nearly 20years ago. I find that i am not quick in getting up of nights not able to fit in what I used to around work then how will I and industry cope with the majority of the workforce over 65.

What I dont understand is that I work a 42.2hour week taking into account of my annual holiday,4×12 hour shifts so actual working week 48hours.
Whereas my wife works a 37,4 hour week with all her holidays on top- so actual working week 37.4!!!!

I can relate to all of the above, my son is now moving into his option year, 10.
The subjects he wanted to take or showed some interest in have been withdrawn due to lack of overall take up, so we will see how that goes.
The anxiety wasnt helped yesterday with confusion of the start date by the school and local authority

Oh the joys of parenting a child with Asphergers!!!

Went for the 20″ frame Blue Pig, standing at 6’4″ with inside leg of 35/36″. the standard Ragley seat post is raised at position 7 to 8 for norm xc rides, seat position back on rails but using stubby stem, 730ish bars

I like Delamere what i dont like about the above is the CONTROL aspect. When I ride Delamere I enjoy the ” off piste” routes and as far as the price of the parking at the central/ cafe area its a joke.
I/ we park of the road running through the forest this allows you ride when it suits you rather than be tied to gate opening/ closing times.

I believe that we are subsidising the FC through the till prices at the cafe… or is it that I’m out of touch with parking prices. Llandegla doesnt cost this much

The type of terrier also comes into play, for example most Bedlington/ Scottish terriers are so far removed from the original working stock they have lost the true hunter instinct. Whereas the Lakeland, Border, Plummer type are more closely related to the working strain. They WILL hunt which meansd rabbit chasing and digging.

If this dog is to be used with your mtb do you think you should get a more “leggy” dog!

Perhaps the ideal MTB dog is a Trailhound, manmade scene following foxhound- now they came cover some distance

Having had to bikes nicked from my own garage I know that sinking feeling.
However, the above posts seem to condone the theft, whether the bikes where locked or not it is taking someone else hard earned property.

    C’mon wheres the anger!!!

You need to match the dog/ bitch to you. what i mean by this is that like people dogs have apersonality, so a dog can be hard or soft and the way you feed into this with your dog is important.
To soft and the dog does what it wants or you could completely crush its temprement.
Always view the dog in its home envoironment see both parents if possible.
Terriers where all working dogs so they have that certain temprement, if dont want this in a dog look for another breed

Had avisit from the local community constable yesterday, no real update or progress but I did retreive my sons distinctive helmet/ gloves from a local field hedgerow, whilst walking the dog. It looks as though the bikes have been taken along the local railway line to evade police, passing motorists etc.

If anyone looking in from Wrexham area I suspect the bikes are somewhere in Gwersyllt, any info would be appreciated

Thanks for the info, the frame clamp sits below the actual deraillior link and the cable run is from below, but it looks as though the cable can be fed from above due to the guides on the non chain side.

right best place to buy then price/ service?
