Two years ago I had an attack of sciatica and was diagnosed with a prolapsed disk. I had the disk trimmed after a long course of physio didnt work.
The back pain and sciatica continued and in June 09 I had to have the disc removed and the joint fused. I'm now recovering but am still to get on the bike.
My only real advice before sugery is get more than one opinion as the approaches to treatment differ so much.

I live near Wokingham and commute into Paddington via Twyford. Bagshot is easy enough to get to and obviously Swinley is only 20 mins in the car.

If running Vista try this.

Go to All Programs, Accessories, right click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.

Then run the ipconfig /flushdns

Ok have a good ride. Are you running Vista?

If you can do it with the ip address it could be a dns problem.

Try this:
Go to Start menu, go to ‘RUN’ type in cmd, this will open a command window.
Type the following. ipconfig /flushdns
Press return, this will confirm when its done.
Close and reopen your browser and try browsing.

I had some problems with my 10 year old boiler last year, I contacted Worcester Bosch and took out one of their service plans with the initial call out. They repaired it at a very reasonable cost.

Another major part went wrong later in the year so they came out under the service plan and changed everything apart from the outer case and the gas valve.
