Take a bike along and see if you can get it in the back stood up with both wheels on!

It’s currently top of my shopping list. My son gets a mobility car and were desperate to find something that can fit his trike or our tandem in the back.

My son is almost 14 and we’ve never found a way for him to be able to ride due to his right hemiplegia. He’s just about to grow out of our tandem so I’ll be keeping an eye on this, cheers!

You’ve probably pressed the lever at some point during the bleed. Doit again following instructions to the letter, it’s only a 5 min job

Yup, re bleed, rear takes a bit more time and patience. On a set of Deores I did I shaved a bleed block down so the pads sat closer to compensate for the extra travel, seems to be a common issue (though none of my own have it)

Take the whole family to Jedi, yourself included.my first session with him was a group skills day with a real mix of abilities. He brought everyone one no end. I’ve had skills coaching from a few folk and he is hands down the best out there.

My brother has an old 223/4? Frame he’s looking to let go for peanuts, plus might have parts you need for the build. Drop me an email if your interested and I’ll put you in touch.

You expect them to come out to fix them for you?

Not far from the reality of Hope service of old; my brother had a brake die on him on its first ride. They shipped him a new one by 9am to a campsite in Wales and told him to send the faulty brake back when he got home.

I’ve had them replace cracked hub bodies on ancient hubs FOC, rebuild hubs FOC when I’ve bodged servicing them…

It’s a real shame if Hope have decided that they don’t need their ‘best customer service out there’ reputation any more.

Jedi has had some for a couple of weeks or so which means they have probably done more like 2 months worth of riding to the average mtber and 10 years worth of jumps and landings! I imagine he will have an opinion on them by now.

Give him a shout or keep an eye out for his video blog that will probably be along in a week or so…

This Peak District sounds like a dangerous and lawless land. What tyres for a trail in the middle of an argument?

    Reverb, hands down

Layback on a dropper post isn’t a great idea IMO, your weight will force the stanchion in to the post at an angle and wear the seals and stanchion faster.

I had the same thing about a year ago when I decided to regain some lost fitness. I was shattered after far less than what I would consider a strenuous ride. Like you, there was no way I was knocking it on the head because it wasn’t a big amount of exercise at all.

What made a huge difference to me was protein. Being veggie I guess I wasn’t getting enough anyway, but I made a conscious effort to eat protein with every meal, particularly having a large portion of quorn every evening along with a protein supplement after every exercise whether I felt I needed it or not. The change was almost immediate, physically and mentally.

The other thing you can’t ignore is that you may be psyching yourself out, unsettled sleep, lack of focus etc.

I don’t know the answer to this one cos I don’t compete!

Pinkbike had a nice length vid of first BDS around. Surprised and impressed.

Even more surprised when it wasn’t over on dirt too.

They’ve fully bought in to the Enduro loverz scene is the impression I’m getting. Maybe don’t have the resources to commit to both? Agree though, it’s steadily got crapper and crapper

If you don’t have an air compressor get your spare car tyre and a length of plastic tube. Attach to your bike valve, then remove the core from your car valve and connect the other end of the tube. Put a bit of pressure on the tread of the tyre near the valve with your hand if that’s where you’re losing air.

The kali lids are lovely. Really light and very strong. Google shopping search finds all sorts of bargains; I picked up the carbon avatar 2 for £100 off recently.

I went when it was piss wet through and really enjoyed it. Took a bit of grunt to get enough speed for the jumps at the start of enter the dragon but once you get it the two step downs after are fast and fun.

Enjoyed the other black too, can’t remember its name. Probably something to do with missing the ‘gap jump’ sign and squashing the take off, knocking myself out on the road gap…

Scott rockets have a hollow section between your knee and the hard shell so nothing touches your kneecap. If that’s where it’s chafing, try them.

That colour looks loads betterin your pics than on the site.

I’m torn between an am and a tr; AM is the kind of bike I’d normally go for but now I have a proper DH BIKE a tr might suit the other stuff better. Decisions decisions…

My brother runs Deores and I run Zees. Quite different feeling brakes, the Zees are more progressive compared to the Deores direct ‘grabby’ feel. Only on proper prolonged DH stuff would I say the Zees are worth the extra, if it’s just for mucking about in the woods I’d spend the cash elsewhere.

Get Deores over xt’s, performance is every bit as good.

But yes, Zees are truly ace

    Idiot.

There’s loads of well ridden, and bedded in trails, that some people put time into creating, then some idiot comes along looking to knock 2 seconds of his best time, destroying the trail someone built.

Everyone else then sees this line, rides it, and now instead of lovely swoopy singletrack you end up with straight lines.

OP, slow hand clap from me. Nothing annoys me more than people ruining someone’s hard work because they’re too lazy to ride properly.

And there’s plenty of us who build trails, then modify and evolve them to create multiple lines and sections. Blocking someone else’s line is stupid and dangerous.

To be clear, we are talking about MUD on a mountain bike trail?

    Sounds lethal.

    Exactly.

Blocking peoples lines on public trails? On my local patch I take all sorts of lines that aren’t on the main track. Nothing to do with strava.

    Cock.

The angle adjust headsets actually drop the front end a little too, while dropping the BB and steepening the seat. So running slightly longer fork will probably put everything close to where it was before fitting the headset, but with a slacker HA

Pretty much every dh place in the uk will have trails where the jumps are optional. I’m pretty sure Enduro can involve a teeny bit of jumping too though!

As said before, the lift bit you might struggle with. A lot of the uplifts aren’t too hard on bikes though, the trailers they use spread the bikes out nicely and hold them securely.

You should go to Chamonix in the summer; ski type uplifts all over the valley which take you to endless natural trails that all point down.
