what owenfackrell said, though it might move the lever a little but not much. adjust the free stroke grub screw then use the barrel adjuster to get the lever position where you want it.

avoid walkers? they are part of the terrain! knock 1 second of your time for a yell of fear, 3 for a leap for safety and 5 for actual contact.

add 5 secs on for a wave or saying hello

    gnnnnnaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

dh race on jacobs tba this summer :P

i was glad i went 1st down jacobs, no one saw my otb to 360 pirouette on the snow just after the gate into the deep snowy bit. scariest bit of the descent!

yeah going full xx would be daft on a bike for abusing, i would quite like to go 10sp just because i run a single ring up front and would like the 36 rear sprocket. Is it cross compatible in any way?

aka gilo, i found my saints an arse to bleed, look on the park website, there way worked for me. mister p from these parts also recommended winding the free stroke screw all the way out beforehand too and he should know.

brant, my saints have banjo's, i thought all shimanos did. glad i went for them now!

nice bike fella, well thought out sensible build. nothing too flash, too heavy, too fashion over function, just a good bike.

dont pump it up too hard, say 20psi, put the whol at the bottom and let the latex seal it, top up the air/latex as necessary. it should seal but half an inch is quite a big cut so it may just take overnight. put it by the radiator too.

id go xl if you want to run a short stem and inline post. im 6ft and ran a large like this but it was a teeny bit cramped

i find it really hard to get excited about road biking. i think if i lived somewhere hillier then maybe, but then thinking about it id prob want to go offroad then too. i just cant get my head around choosing pedalling over scaring myself silly.

not really, the asr sl is a proper xc race bike, light, steep and a bit flexy in the rough stuff. the asr 5 is more of a trail bike, kind of a slimmed down 575.

yeah a bit slacker but it wasnt mega slack with the pikes, about 68 HA so more like 66.5 with the lyriks. pretty similar to my 5 really.

i like the mission control so far but ive only had one ride on it. cos im at the, ahem, upper limit of the standard spring i put quite a lot of low speed compression damping on, middle high speed and about 2/3rds rebound damping. felt good!

i need to get some pics 'in the wild' i reckon

    update:

now with coil lyriks, penthouse flats and a dual ply big betty out back.
rides surprisingly well at 160mm on the along stuff, obviously a hoot on the downs. pooks peak pootle was a good bedding in ride i reckon

sambob, loosen the allen key under your seat right off, adjust the angle then hold it in place while you tighten it back up.

    simples!

if its a quill stem your only concern will be if its 1 inch or 1 1/8th i would have thought. dont think you get many os bar clamps on quill stems. should make it handle a bit less twitchy/bit slower but it should be ok. give it a bash!

ive just sold a set of pushed pikes which i thought were great but fancied something bigger for my ht.

i recently sold my talas 36 off my 5 to put 2010 revs on the front. they are the 150 maxle ones but motion control rather than black box. i love em! so impressed, weigh 3.8lbs with steerer cut to 200mm and work absolutely great. ill get them pushed at their 1st service or possibly upgrade to the new black box stuff if thts possible but for now they are great. im not gentle with them and they feel plenty stiff.
