agreed, its a shame you cant plug it in to something to check the angle like your phone or something. still, at £13 its not that bad really!

user-removed, i had this t'other day, ended up getting a nice, clear video of my foot going down a hill.

i had a little play with it this morning and found that if you take the mounting bracket without the magnets or the clip, unscrew the little screws that hold the camera clip to the bracket and turn it over so the camera mounts upside down. then mount it on top of your helmet so the camera sits down in to the central front vent with the camera the right way up (if that makes sense)and zip tie it in place its pretty easy to get it at the right angle. ill put a pic up later or tomorrow but im at work now.

isnt the thinking behind a two piece stem that you can machine more material out without it costing the earth for ridiculously complicated tooling, as opposed to it looking different?

i didnt clean it as a descent last time either! quite a lot of snow on the easy bit had me gracefully dismounting on several occasions

whinstone lee is muddy as owt along the moorland section, otherwise fine really. no snow at all around rowlee, hagg, win hill etc, though plenty to see in the distance

Slowrider means down the beast, push up the footpath then down Potato Alley? (I can't get my head round the logistics of that)

    fail :P

i mean down the beast, up hagg farm, turn round and come back down hagg farm, then up pooks secret permissive bridleway.

i only mentioned potato alley as i got confused myself. i though pook had found a way to link the bottom of potato alley up with hope.

sorry for yet another route related question pook! when you say the roman road, do you mean potato alley or heading in the opposite directon as in turning left at the top of the beast or turning right?

    ta!

si at progressive bikes off here can do about the best prices ive seen, drop him a mail. the only reason i went for my lyriks was the coil+travel adjust which fox dont do (and the silly cheap price).

    what you putting them on?

nice one. i use thattrail all the time but thought 30 of us trudging up it on a weekend might be pushing it. if we ar allowed then fair do's!

if we are going down the beast pook, what about up and back down the hagg farm descent? those who dont fancy it can use it as a lunch stop or something…

i did a bit of jumps and stuff on mine at 100 (well,115) and it felt alright, much more flickable. to be honest though if i wanted a lively flickable xc bike i wouldnt buy a sovereign, no need for something that heavy imo. i reckon give it a proper beasting with a big fork.

get a co2 cannister if you dont have access to a compressor, they do they job fine. also, try putting a luggage strap type thing round the tire after you have pulled the bead in to place as best you can. with a bit of fettling you can get the strap to encourage the tyre to push itself against the rim rather than letting all the air out.
