Normal shampoos are too harsh for a beard and make the snowing worse. Give the beard a good scrub with either plain water or beard shampoo which is milder at the start of your bath/shower then put conditioner in it and leave it there for 5 minutes before washing out thoroughly. Your beard will be much more controllable for when you want that handlebar but don’t ezpext to be asking evwrything out of it and rebuilding a handlebar everyday unless you don’t have a job!

There are only 2 things you need to know about East Anglia.

    1. Never go east of Lowestoft
    2. The trig point in Little Ouse reads -1.5m

My girlfriend has one and she loves it. She probably rides it more than her full susser. I’ve had a quick blast but as it’s a small and I’m 6’4” it’s a bit like riding a BMX for me. Pretty good spec wise apart from the lever to operate the dropper post which just seems to feel a bit cheap and flimsy – apparently you don’t notice it when riding though.

If you like Alestorm also check out “Red Rum” they are supposed to be good. We were going to have them for the after party of Exeter Pirate Day last year but they cancelled and we ended up with The Wattingers who are “Insustrial Steam Punk Slaughterhouse Blues”……….

Fabric XL are chunky as well as being long. They are damn hard though and incredibly uncomfortable without gloves.

Either the BPW voucher or the Minion DHR 29×3 (obviously not to use on the uplift at BPW)

Whilst there are/were the odd trail in Great Plantation it’s mostly flat. I’d head out through Parke and up the Wray valley trail till you get to Lustleigh then go to go explore the Singletrack in the Cleave (valley).

The Cavern in Exeter! Amazing. Very fond but hazey memories of 1998-2001

Such a great venue for alternative bands. I’ve not managed to get over since it re-opened after the fire but I can’t imagine it has changed much

Today – work followed by evening 3 of 5 out boozing
Saturday – Ride at Woodbury as it is the only place I can think of that won’t be entirely made of liquid soil – only some of it. Followed by day 4 of 5 boozing
Sunday – Zwift in the morning, Day 5 of 5 boozing from lunchtime then home early evening when it starts to get silly
Monday – Xmas Day at the outlaws
Tuesday – Ride somewhere – Forest of Dean perhaps?
Weds, Thurs and Fri – back at work although Thursday night is “Loud For Lemmy” Prostate Cancer benefit rock night
    Saturday – Ride somewhere
Sunday – NYE – No idea what I’m doing yet but it’s either “Indie Night” at the Cavern in Exeter, Party in the Cosmos at Exeter Phoenix, Ye Olde Cider Bar or staying at home
    Monday – Ride
Tuesday – back to work but only a couple of months of my notice period to serve left so probably job hunting as well!

Yes, it was easy to use although the first time I rode round on it for ages with no results only to find I hadn’t screwed the connector on quite tight enough. If you’re using it on multiple bikes (or just both ends on a full susser) then write down the number it gives you after calibrating to save having to do it every time you move it.

One bike it barely suggested any changes, one it had me make massive changes which were for the good.

Just be aware that it isn’t compatible with some Manitou forks (as they connect the positive and negative chambers when a pump is connected) or anything using an MRP ramp control – there may be other things as well but I’m not sure.

It probably hasn’t given me enough benefit to justify the cost as I’m only a fairly average rider but I do like gadgets

Oh, and it annoys me that the cable ties provided aren’t quick release ones given that it is likely to get moved around. I replaced mine with velcro straps.

Off topic sorry, but is ok to store mtb`s like this ^^ I am thinking about oil is forks/shocks mainly?

I store mine like that and I’ve yet to have an issue with forks, shocks or brakes as a result.

The best thing for dropped bolts is a shotgun cartridge collector. Something like This (or make your own).

**EDIT** Steel ones of course, none of that fancy stuff

I’ve gone for heavy duty lino in my new “garage”. Nice and easy to keep clean when it does get dusty. I wouldn’t want to drive on it though which is fine as it’s not a standard garage and a car wouldn’t fit.

Poorbiys World do a matt interior detailing spray. It smells of Marzipan though which can tend to make you peckish on long drives.

Basically what zerolight says although I was still surprised when I cleared technical climbs on my hightower that I wasn’t able to clear on my 5010 (and still can’t).

I only used to drink from the skulls of my vanquished enemies but sadly they aren’t dishwasher safe so I had to go all modern and use a pottery tankard instead.

I’ve got an old naturally aspirated 1.9 Peugeot Expert. I had a car when I bought it but I’ve since sold id. Yes, it’s noisy, slow and not exactly comfortable but I wouldn’t change it. 29er in the back no problems (in fact 29+ also no problem). The bloke I picked up a few months ago limping his bike back to the carpark at Haldon was certainly grateful that I had it.

One thing though is that I would always make sure I got a van under 6’6″ high so that I can get in most carparks with it.

Last year I went to my University reunion and whilst out clubbing in Cardiff (Fuel) as part of it someone commented on the fact I looked tired. I told them that was because I was out clubbing in Madrid till 4AM that morning watching a band called Los Illumindaos in the Costello Club – which was true. What I didn’t tell them was that I was only in Madrid for an IT conference…..

Frequently! I’ve settled for resigning from my job and taking time out to do other things. Let’s see how that goes apart from the fact that I’ll obviously have to sell my Santa Cruz what with no longer being a middle aged IT Manager and all that

The Bell Must be quite well ventilated – I see a guy riding a road bike in one with chinbar attached most days.

No sense of smell here either. Occasionally my brain tries to fill in and “Pretend to smell things” although it often gets it wrong – you don’t half get some strange looks when you’re walking through a pine forest and suddenly ask “Can anyone else smell Mangos?”

Yes. It’s hilarious to ride! There is no grip is mud though and adding heavier tyres just makes it a pain to ride. I’ve compromised with a chupacabra on the back and Vee Bulldozer on the front.

Forgot about the various Salsa options.

Trek Stache is the only carbon 29+ I can think of but there are probably others. No idea what the carbon ones ride like as mines aluminium.

SantaCruz Hightower. Nice low shock leverage ratio which means the shock isn’t over pressure (even for me at 20 stone) and VPP which is good at resisting bobbing. On the downside they only do cf versions so it can work out pricey – hell of a bike though!

Why not just take the adapter you get with the phone with you in your wallet? It’s probably a cheaper option than throwing your phone out of a car window plus you won’t be littering.
