stayed in Kassiopi last august & went on the mountain tour with s-bikes,uplifted to the top of mount Pantokrator was too hot to ride up. then did a 20 mile ride back to shop, bikes where what you expect from a hire shop but ride was well organised and a good set of lads guiding would definitely reccomend

Think the entry system should be a ballot it should’nt be down to who has fastest internet speed, also think it would be better on si-entries last 2 years ive got on then thrown back out when i started entering details, eventbrite website is piss poor.should also be one entry at a time not 6 if folk cant be arsed entering themselves then tough crap..

Minnion ss on the rear high roller2 on the front found it it to be very versatile in most conditions so far, thought it might have struggled round Ard Rock enduro with the loose shale & rocks but was absolutely fine. Not tried it in gloopy stuff yet but guess that won’t be far away as it’s nearly September, but would definitely recommend it!!

They do have a lifetime warranty on the frame bearings, but it’s still 2hrs labour to pay for at LBS, still find that strange if car needs warranty work, labour included but not on bikes. I’ve had 4 sets in 18mnth on my G150 seriously thinking of an orange 4 or 5 next getting pissed off with paying for so called warranty…

First time i’ve done the event was a cracking day and all for a good cause, 3hrs 45 with 2 punctures down garburn, actually enjoyed the rain thought i was going to overheat clambering up garburn. Big thanks to all involved especially the marshalls and great to see so many youngsters out on bikes…

Did a ride from haweswater over mosedale past bothy cottage to gatescarth, was horrendous just a boggy mess, can only liken it to trying to ride over soaked mattresses. Don’t waste your time, effort plenty of better routes ie nan bield, high street, garburn

Shimano AM41 shoes & merino socks worked well for me last winter & the Lake District is a wet & cold place, had sealskins but may as we’ll put a plastic bag over your feet

I was just about to press the button on the yt site to buy a Capra last year, after hearing all the horror stories about cracked frames etc and shoddy after sales, so glad I payed a bit more and bought from LBS. The couple of problems I’ve had have been sorted ASAP by LBS & manufacturer. 9 weeks is disgraceful get after them

Yes it true sram spider only compatable to sram chainring, worth spending a bit more and put a different spider on then you can put any other chainring on in future as opposed to having to use sram only

Shimano am41s very good shoes grippy, good in shitty weather/conditions I have just taken a pair if Hope f20 flats off not very good & replaced with a pair of plastic Nukeproof electrons for £30 a very good upgrade in my eyes for a quarter of the price

Fathomer, to be honest theres that much stuff to ride in grizedale you’d be fine on the sunday, you could ride round all day & not repeat any sections

My whyte G150 works is 31.6 lbs in a size large, I could put silly money carbon rims on but rather loose a bit of wheight myself and I would still be allowed to sleep in the house. Most of my riding mates have carbon bikes which may be a bit lighter but then mines never snapped/cracked unlike some of there’s, they may be a bit faster at climbing than me but not downhill. I know which I prefer.

Re grizedale, as D Spink says probably be a mix of walkers routes, fresh cut sections and possibly some existing trails. Though I’ve heard a rumour of someone from grizedale that this race will mainly be the other side of the forest which is mainly walkers routes & bridleways there’s no trails over there. But the bridleway network is quality gnarly techy stuff

PMBA at grizedale on 13th sept not as gruelling as ard rock but a full practice lap in morning & race in afternoon, gives you a good day in the saddle. It is a superbly run series pick your start time at sign on allways a good set of stages and theres plenty of good stuff in grizedale for variety. There are still places left, get on it you wont regret it.

High roller 11 3c front 26psi ardent exo rear 28psi no problems and plenty of grip, not sure if they where a drag on the climbs or it was because they where big old climbs and im not exactly a lightwheight xc whippet. To be honest its down to luck alot of the time as regards puncturing not just tyre choice/pressures.

Got a new bike in November which came with guide rsc brakes was a bit sceptical after riding buddys said negative things about previous sram/avid brakes. Had xt brakes on last bike but can honestly say the rsc have been faultless so far and would highly recommend

Same here up at gisburn just after 6am, 16 mile ride round not a soul on the trails, just on lad setting off as i got back to van. felt like my own private trail centre and home for 8.30, though spending rest of day trying to convincing the wife we wont get shot or blown up when we go to Turkey in 2 weeks.

Me & 2 mates entered then logged back in & put a team name all got 9.30am start together so smiles all round here, do the pmba series and the relaxed choose your time slot works great but theres 350 riders at most not 1000 like ard rock guess some are just unlucky

Yeah ive told him to take his full bike in and also stay calm and dont shout, as it aint the shop floor lads who make these decisions.
