My friends in south africa are all into land rovers. they’re all jaked up and have massive wheels for off roading and pulling boats.

they spend more time in the garage in bits than actually getting dirty.

Land rover…. build shit cars, people love fixing them. what a great business model.

Put a different sim card in it.

Most insurance supplied phones are sim free. Unless the box is branded by the sim operator.

I am (well, was) a toolmaker and forty years ago (yes, I was using metric fasteners then) I made a set of Allen keys with a speed brace type handle in 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8mm sizes – the hex section is pressed into an appropriately sized piece of silver steel and the other end is machined to fit into a slot in the T handle, which is then silver soldered on.
They don’t leave my workshop but the Silverline ones will get chucked into my “riding toolbox” in my van. If they turn out to be crap (and I don’t believe they will, otherwise I wouldn’t have bought them) it’s only 8 quid…

you’re a tool maker and you bought silverline……. Do you work for silverline?

I studied Marine electrics and have been a fully qualified marine electrical/engineer for 10 years. I don’t touch houses.

I’m the Chief Engineer on a 108ft super yacht and a few smaller boats with in the company i work for.

    Enjoy fixing your shitty electrics!

HAHAHA Well when the house burns down and everyone inside dies, or someone accidentally gets a shock and dies. Don’t come crying to STW. *ive killed everyone in the house with my shoddy wiring what should i do?* post

Don’t forget to tell them you did it yourself when the shit hits the fan and they ask for the installation and test certificate! I wouldn’t bother with house insurance either. its void. You sound like you don’t have it anyway.

Enjoy the new year it could be your last!

Sorry OP but what the hell! you obviously don’t have a clue what you’re doing!

Call an electrician out immediately before something bad happens.

Ive seen worse consumer units. But I’ve seen better ones burn houses/boats down!

I bet there is something in the instructions about a tying them off as a fail safe. I doubt you will get anything from the company. i always tie a loop in the strap a foot after the clamp and put the end through and tie it off.

300kg limit is nothing. If you were driving at speed and braked hard you would easily snap a clamp.

Oh if you look online all the staps have

The strap should not be stretched over sharp edges or rough surfaces.
Use several straps fasten a load.
It is strictly forbidden stretch the straps using a device not recommended by the manufacturer.
Do not use worn straps replace them.
    The straps must be knotted.
Do not use for lifting weights.

I think it comes down to the type of people who actually do it. I guess it motivates them to raise the funds to get the satisfaction of doing something they could never afford to do. Charity begins at home right…..?

If I asked someone to donate money to charity i would give 100% to the charity.

After doing research i found a website that specialises in charity skydives. you fundraise £395 and £140 pounds goes to the charity. I think that is disgusting. Im sure i have never seen this advertised on their just giving page.

’skyline: Charity skydiving and parachuting FREE charity jumps’

Ill always donate straight to the charity from now on!

If you look on the bottom of the charger it will tell you the current, voltage and wattage. if it didn’t i wouldn’t be using it and i would throw it in the bin.

I don’t think people actually know what the break down is. I would be ashamed to fundraise in aid of a charity, to jump out of a plane.

Another one for you….. Race for life in Leeds 1 in 3 have not given in their sponsorship! Just goes to show people just want to get on the band wagon and wear a pink tutu and wear a pink wig for ‘charity’

Have it in the conservatory and in the kitchen. the first few days it was lovely but now I don’t like it. After a while it made me feel really uncomfortable. Having really warm feet but the rest of your body is cooler.

Kitchen has flotex now and feels great.

Surely it depends more on beam pattern and throw rather than out and out brightness?
Spot on the helmet, flood on the bars.

    What this man said.

But usually a flood wide beem is brighter than a spot as it throws the light further making it look less bright.

So you should know a crap $10-15 brake hone off ebay is going to wreck a seat post tube and is not the correct tool for the job.

The OP is getting scratches on a seat post….

Im not telling anyone to use a reamer. the frame has already been reamed. all that is needed is to remove burrs

    trail_rat – Member
fyi – pistons bores are more critical tollerance than a poxy seat post.

hones only damage those if your a monkey paws.

id have no issue taking a hone to a seat tube if i thought it was required.

You have obviously never seen anyone hone or rebore a cylinder correctly.

    Slogo

Do you actually know what a hone is used for? They’re used to remove glazing and resurfacing the inside of a cylinder which helps lubricate the piston rings and the cylinder. This is done by scoring the sidewalls.

the correct tool for this would be is a Reamer, used to open up a hole to a greater tolerance and make sure its nice and smooth.

you won’t see a hone in a bike shop. Use the right tool for the Job!

Everyone seems to jump the gun. Giving advice to someone, that could ruin his bike. a bit of emery paper and wet and dry would be my first option. It’s more than likely it only needs a quick rub on the top edge and the slot.

kmc quick links for 10 speed funnily enough fit ten speed chains.

    You need to squeeze harder.

using a hone or a broom handle is going to **** your bike!

Just rub the edges of the tube and the slot, this is all you need to do.

    Slogo
    Free Member

emery paper or a fine sand paper to take the sharp edges away

Don’t rub too much just enough to get rid of the burrs.
