I just bought one from CRC for £35, and the ally spyder only holds the largest three cogs on it. The rest is a full steel cassette. Still feels a lot lighter than a deore steel cassette though.

the xt cassettes are 6 on the ally spider and 3 seperate ones

silver or black. think the colour finishing bits only work well with dull coloured frames blacks silvers etc.

ive been using panaracing xc pros for a few years as i do a lot of road miles i find they have little resistance on the road and good and grippy off road.

ill be using slicks and conti speed kings this year see how they get on.

you get what you pay for!

had a race face lasted 1500 miles or so. on a hope one now its still only a few weeks old so i cant really comment on that altho its still ok after 2 weekend xc riding, and 9 days comuting. but i know that my lbs can replace the bearings. plus thay have plastic guard to keep most of the muck out.

i had this problem with my old shifters!

you need slx xt or xtr with the 3 ataching holes to mount hangers. i guess yours are older than this.

like these remove the windows and the hangers. buy the hope shimano matchmakers(from crc) sweet un-cluttered handle bars! FTW

i spent about £180 on top of the x2s to get the shifting right!

ILast time I saw him, he was winning "Celebrity Big Brother" where he said that the prize money would "well sort me out".

    Suppose it must have, then.

he bought a london taxi and put a nascar/big block engine with race box in it!

    What price range?
I stay at the Astoria when on business which is on Paris 'rd' if I remember correctly. It's not the cheapest but it's one of the better hotel I've stayed at with nice rooms and breakfast and it's central. About €90 but you may get a better deal than my usual 1 night flying visit.

this is just off the rambler right? lovely staircases and has a small pool on the roof.

    ive stayed there its lovely

About 850g per tyre seems to be the lightest of what mtb racers use around here. Mind you, the top 3 of most races are more on tyres about the 1000g mark.

both my tyres weigh less than 1000g ande there nothing mega special

put tape anywhere the cable touches the frame. eg headtube toptube fork.

or you could rap the whole thing in cotton wool. its for riding don't worry to much about it. you will get over it pretty quick like i did!

plus a chain protector would be best on the chain stay CRC do one for like £3 or a raceface one on wiggle is £4 atm.

Ive got the singletrack shorts and there great. wearing really well after 2 years there is small signs of wear under the waist at the back, its stretchy fabric probably me pulling them up. and they are not very water proof after a few to many washes in the washing machine!

i would say two lenses one for a day with the family or race events etc

where zoom isn't really necessary plus you will need to open the shutter a little bit longer when there is low light etc and the Image Stability is great for this!

canon 17-85mm IS its a great lens

and one for the far shots wildlife being in the cheap seats at the Grand Prix etc.

    canon 70-300mm is lens

    both great lenses!!

if there are no stress cracks i would drill it out to 8mm so its nice and smooth all the way round, and get it welded.
