back in the uk days my riding was based out of windermere and on numerous occasions i glimpsed an uber hot brunette on a cindercone always on her own, she was always finishing her ride into sawrey as we were pounding up the climb from the ferry, “konababe” still haunts my dreams…..

still got my red sky coven singlet!(did the whole inaugaral tour in 89 with 4 mates, ended up driving with the german sound guy for the latter half) only thing i salvaged from my dads attic before some bastard mice at all my band tees.
Will be wearing said singlet when they finally do come downunder, also managing to “follow” them to the melbourne gig as a birthday presetn from my loving wife (who can’t understand why im nearly weeing with excitement)

worst was a Nissan pulsar EXA-on loan from a friend for 3 months but he most gutles pos imaginable, apparently the turbo’d model went like stink but this was a 1.6 bobbinsmobile.
best Mk1 lotus elan driven once from Auckland to Rotorua by as many back roads as possible. never took it above about 65 mph but was still thrilled to fits of smiling.

‘Notwoot’ NMA cancelled NZ tour til next year (if at all)Humph! Still the Specials ticketa go on sale today, might go to that to cheer myself up.

I have an ’02 2 litre petrol duratec(140 hp), the car is virtually faultless, done 150,000 km and still smooth as silk, auto box is a little sluggish on kickdown but apart from that long trips are a pleasure. Spec is reasonable (A/C, 6 speaker CD, overdrive) loads of airbags and a much nicer cabin than its vauxhall counterpart. Also cavernous boot and plenty legroom for rear passengers. Will definately get another.

I rented a room in Windermere from a friend in 96/98 and was told a lovely story by the women accross the hall, it seems the previous tenant in our flat was a little old lady who used to complain about the noise coming accross the landing and into her flat. there was of course no noise but the old girl repeatedly sent her daughter round when she visiteed to complain of thumping noises.
Any way the old girl gets too frail to look after herself and the daughter takes her in and the flat is rented to us. a couple of weeks later the daughter visits our neighbour to apologise; it seems the thumping noise travelled to her house and the old bat was complaining still.

Think yourself lucky, about 2 years ago it was the height of cool over here for kid to wear old man’s slippers to school, they looked like proper ****ts in the summer with shorts,socks pulled up and them on their feet.
(disregards the fact that side lacing winkle pickers were uber hip when i was that age!)
