    I read somewhere that at the height of their fame and wealth Bono had a bright yellow MkIII cortina for driving around dublin, I hated him a little less when i discovered that.

    Did 2000km round the south island in 99, most fun holiday ive ever had, people are friendly ,hospitable and the scenery is mostly stunning outside of canterbury plains, start in christchurh and do a clockwise cicuit following peddlars paradise guidbook, you can't go wrong.

    happened to me about a year into a five year relationship, it was never the same even though she fessed up to just on shag, i didn't even think about getting even, just felt really gutted and only about 50% as committed to the relationship for the remaining time.

    similarly a muesli bar, a pair of Oakley Zeros which i felt guilty about keeping but it was on a regular roadies route so could have been anyones,(i lost them off the roof the car about 6 weeks later any way.easy come easy go)
    about $ 2.20 in coinage,a french connection jumper size 12. gave it to a female friend.

    john_drummer did you ever see NMA do a cover of "I'm a believer?" by Neil Diamond? They did it during a sound check on the '90 swedish tour and it was so good we talked them into playing it on the last gig of the tour. Justin obviously a bit of a fan deep down!!

    Elbow- on the car stereo, had to pack away all the Cd's in the lounge as the slimtubling was into them constantly.

    I think the majority of us Gen Xers are in the same boat music wise (am happy to be proved wrong) so if you chuck on anything indie/post punk through to the death of brit pop you'd please quite a few ears round 'ere.
    for myself it has to be Teenage Fanclub, Husker Du and The Chameleons.

    Auckland has something like 70 cones dotted around the city, we could find ourselves with North ,South and Middle islands quite easily.
