Doible cab Pickup is the answer as its not only good for carrying bikes but is a 5 seater, comfy, economical and 4wd but when you out chunky 4×4 tyres on looks as freeride as the full sussers in the back!!

I have a new shape L200 and its just the best…put the hard cover back on when not carrying bikes and then have huge water proof boot!! Mine even came with nav and DVD in player in rear from factory!!

Vans also often don’t fit in car parks….only downside to pickups is bike security as they are sat outside!

Love the monkey trail and all was open but streams down some of the hills…

Ftd was closed at high voltage and bomb hole which was a shame as they good trails but still great day!

Hans Dampf are great as they can cope no matter what conditions when you arrive!!

Must have been roadies..in my experience always rude and focussed on the average speed and cadence! Such boring a**e holes!

Then theres the roadies in London who ignore traffic lights & pedestrian crossings, I just step in front of them and shout now to scare them, one day one will get so close I can push them of!

I have an L200 Double Cab pickup like a car inside and drive nicely…

Great for dirty bikes as I just hose out the load bay and re-attach hard cover.

Plus it doesnt look out of place as its not got animal stickers or dents etc all over just normal met grey with alloys…

Love how often people list Ardents or Rocket Rons or other basically semi-slicks as a grippy tyre…obviously never tried something like a rubber queen or hans dampf or minions.

If your happy with Rocket Rons or Ardents great but someone looking for something like a Rubber Queen is only going to find them a dissappointment on anything but a fire road.

Yep found them very claggy and filled fork and rear triangle with mud due to volume, bought BC Barons and wow took them through mud, snow, dry and loose stuff with no issues. A very good if slightly draggy all rounder but nothing like the drag on my mates Hans Dampf!

Nobby Nics were the other great all rounder I had but if anything slightly more dry biased than Barons!

Conti Barons Black Chilli – very fast for such a big tyre but expensive…my mate has the Hans Dampf and they seem very similar but his defo drag more!

@thisisnotaspoon @tonyd – how does Glentress/Innerlaithen compare to say Cannock or LLangdegla if you’ve been? Smoother & faster or similar?

I moved last year from a Cannondale Prophet with Lefty to carbon Zesty & also find similar things.

Changed to a Spank 777 wide bar & 50mm stem, bike is more confident and better balanced, can really get weight down on the front wheel in any corner….

57 miles from Whitstable to Pegwell bay and back all along the coast…

Not sure bike appreciated the beach bits but beautiful ride and no cramp! Tonic water did the trick for me…
