Tilgate forrest is good for an hour or so blast, particularly if you don’t mind repeating a couple of loops/sections. It has a couple of steepish drop in sections and some reasonably nice single track if you dig deep enough. You can head back into crawley via the M23 footbridges, and the golf course – or south to parish lane and then back up through crawley.

I’m told there’s also reasonable trails to be had nearer Haywards Heath but I never ventured that far in my time. It would be quicker to get there than to Box Hill/Surrey Hills I should imagine though. Particularly on MtB

I fitted an aftermarket head unit to a mk1 focus I had years ago, was a piece of pish. You’ll need a triangular fascia adapter for about £15 plus an autoleads cable adapter again, £10-£15. Then your head unit on top. I bought a Bluetooth head unit from halfrauds about 2 years ago for £59 I think, decent brand too. Was able to stream phone calls through it too, surprising how little you have to pay for a half decent set up these days.

What exactly would you categorise as epic just out of curiosity.

    Good question.

I’ll agree that it’s epic in scope, which is a big part of its appeal – but I honestly feel that there are way too many long drawn out (boring) plot-lines, pi$$ poor fight scene choreography, and far too few characters to give a hoot about – for which they usually kill off any good ones that you’ve decided to root for.

They certainly keep you guessing, i’ll give the script writers that much. And there’s enough action and intrigue to keep me coming back for more.

When I say it’s not epic – I probably mean that it’s not quite of a high enough standard (including acting standards)to go down as one of the ‘best series ever’. I certainly don’t think i’ll ever go back and watch it again from episode 1, unlike Soprano’s, Breaking Bad, etc.
(i’ll have boxed sets for seasons 1-5 on DVD up for grabs if anyone’s interested?!..)

I’m not sure I would have stuck with it if it wasn’t for the excellent Tyrion Lannister underdog storyline. His character adds the right balance of humour, tragedy, spirit, action – he’s a good little actor that fella.

One other thing I will certainly commend GoT for – it’s the first time I’ve ever enjoyed Sean Bean in anything. Imagine my confusion when they *EDIT-deleted spoiler*

Half way through season 5 of GoT. Have enjoyed it and will miss not having more episodes to watch but it’s far from the epic it portrays IMO.

Just watched both seasons of Fargo back to back, it’s some of the best TV I’ve seen in years. Agree with watching season 2 then 1. Both excellent but 1 pips it. And would make more chronological sense.

Still can’t get my head round ep9 of season 2…

The pricing is closer than you may think in most cases. I’d stop worrying about trainers and soak up the incredible sights and sounds of Manhattan instead.

Thanks for all your advice. Merlin had a really good deal on multi-purchase steadyracks, plus an extra 7.5% off at till for today only so I bit the bullet.

yeah, have watched some vids of the steadyrack, they do look super practical with the wheel-in-and=pivot action.

Shames it would cost be north of £300 to fit the amount I need! Ouch.

Of course, now i’ve seen them in action – i’m convinced I need the features above..

Steadyradks look the best-but-pricey option. They any good with 2.25–2.4″ tyres?

The ‘velo-hinge’ on wiggle also looks a good option for pivoting bike against the wall to maximise space

Clug – Well they’re pretty cool! Can I trust them though? My tiny brain shudders at the thought of my pride and joy slipping out during the night and crashing to the floor

Re hooks, it’s just a bit wobbly for my liking, no load spreading to left or right of fixing so am convinced repeated use will have it working loose

My 5yo son told me tonight that he’s going to ask Santa next year for me and his mummy to be back together again. This after telling me all weekend about mummy’s new boyfriend..

He has no idea how much of a mess I am still in, even after 2 years having passed. I honestly feel like I can never again have what I truly want and need out of life. He’s the only reason I bother to get out of bed most mornings.

I’d settle for the knowledge that I’ll ever feel happy again.

That At The Drive In performance blew me the **** away when I first saw it, still does. Blobby Williams face afterwards is priceless too, the gormless twonk.

Nah, the general consesus (interestingly) seems to be that this particular line up was rubbish. We’ve all seen Jools’ show before, and some weeks it’s simply marvellous. Just happens that this weeks didn’t float my boat at all. James Bay? Not fussed. The ska performance was quite enjoyable. Tom Jones, pony.

Of course it’s all completely subjective, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed previous hootenannys, not so this one. Way sub par.

FFS CALL IT A DAY YOU ARE TOO OLD TO ROCK AND ROLL!

I don’t subscribe to this. The voices may begin to strain and the swagger may be stifled, but the older boys blazed the trail and it’s always a pleasure to see them, whilst they are still in our presence. (although Tom Jones is pushing my sensibilities these days)

Listened to the new Bowie single? (Lazarus), it’s awesome. Still teaching the kids a thing or two

Was also surprised by how much I enjoyed New Order with La Roux on TFI Friday earlier too.

Watched it for Future Islands alone, and they didn’t disappoint. Rest of the show did though, worst line up I’ve seen on any Jools show.

I truly thought it was live too until a couple weeks ago. Tonight i felt cheated on the countdown so switched over and watched the numptys filming the fireworks on their phones at Westminster instead.

Future Islands on Tonight with Jools earlier this year was highlight of the series for me.

JJ captured the spirit of the originals very well, whilst introducing new characters.

With respect, I reckon I could’ve captured the spirit of the originals (falcon+x-wings+chewie & Han love in) plus introduced new characters myself. That’s not exactly ground breaking is it.

Point being, by his own admission he was handling huge cinematic baggage with legions of middle aged fans waiting on baited breath – and he came out with Ep4-pt2.
It needed more convincing villains, and a better Empire/New Order back plot. The ease of destruction of planetoid weaponry and simplicity of Force mastery was just way too lazy.

OP – that’s exactly how it works, I phoned for emergency call out – they offered a repair fee (rising sharply on amount of time spent on site), or alternatively, to join their service plan as above – they take the risk on cost of spares to get you up and running as essentially you are tied in to tune of £330 ish over course of the year.

You then have advantage of free call outs during that year, with quote for spares before any work is carried out.
Worked out cost effective for us. Why not give them a call?

Also, I have a new Thomson covert waiting in the wings in 30.9 flavour, if I go for the Mega then would I be OK to shim the Thomson out to 31.6?. Or maybe I should just send it back for an exchange!

Bosch pump on my Worcester ran dry whilst we were away last week owing to a leak on one of our radiators. Signed up for the British Gas full coverage deal and they came same day to attempt repair, then back next day to complete pump exchange.
Service included in cost of £99 for first visit, then £22pcm for 12mths. As all parts are included in price we have already made a saving on the total annual cost.

What’s weird is despite my considerable grievances, I’m really looking forward to seeing it again. Clearly they got something right!

It’s ridiculous double standards too; you don’t see the same shite being levelled at Harrison Ford.

Ford hasn’t messed with his face, it’s a lot easier to let it slide when the most emotive part of someone’s persona hasn’t had a couple a litres of anti-freeze pumped into it.
If Ford had gone all Burt Reynolds then he’d probably get more stick.

I understand that it’s a whizzy pew pew kid fest type movie, but by JJs own admission – there was a lot of emotional baggage riding on this sequel. The writing/plot therefore feels like it’s come up very short to me. Unless ep vlll takes a big leap forward in that respect, then I expect to be separating 7/8/9 in my memory banks from 4/5/6 – like I had to with 1/2/3. Yougetme?

My pre-conceptions on rear suspension are lack of any small bump sensitivity, I always tune my air fork to over the recommended max weight in order not to lose 50% travel on sag (insert embarrassed emoticon).

I did have reasonable success with a single pivot Prophet a few years ago but only used it for a handful of rides as it was too small (short) for me.

My riding is generally nimbying around trails, but have taken a few lessons over the last couple of years and now like to get air on occasion and love hitting corners hard. I’d say I was an aggressive xc’er!

The Mega is probably a bit on the beefy side for my style but I figure it would at least hold up to my bulk and may encourage me to get a bit more aggressive – perhaps not such a bad thing. Ultimately it would be used for 20+ mile loops though, so ideally not built like a tank. I’ll be switching 1×11 onto it.

The more I think about the plot holes, the more I think JJ has rushed this project – particularly the 2nd half of the movie. It’s a good ripping yarn but not so solid movie

But this doesn’t answer my question regarding wellbeing of snakes in the wild. To suggest they don’t like open spaces in general, IMO, Is borderline rediculous.
Fact is, they are free to roam to whichever space they prefer, hang out for as long as desired, and move along when needs require. That’s the life cycle of a free animal, and the right of any wild animal.

I’m done on the thread now, wasn’t my intention to offend anyone so I’ll leave you be. Just is a subject close to my heart so feel the need to speak out from time to time.
Sorry to see that some of you are unwilling to consider other viewpoints, whereas others may be more open minded. Glad to see so many are passionate about caring for their ‘pets’. Perhaps one percent of my view will rub off on someone one day, that’s a start.

Don’t see how I’m afraid. The welfare statements are merely opinion.
I’ve only read one balanced alternate opinion on here and that was from OP.
