So.. should I buy the Four or not?
You lot told me the Five was way too much bike for my North Downs/South Downs mincing – but now it seems the Four is pointless?
Do I need to wait for the Three?

So confused. FWIW, I think the Four looks ace. And if it rides similarly to the T-130 then I reckon it makes a great alternative option. If you have deeper pockets.

I’m still none the wiser with regards to achieving this wonderful feat – but im heartened to learn that the skill is alive and well.

I have the exhale nailed but I just cannot achieve the starfish suck.

Glasgow canal – Falkirk wheel looks like fun

Agreed – that looks a truly stunning stretch of canal – and the wheel, well, makes me proud to think that we are still capable of churning out engineering wonders such as this

Get some cheap CB’s so he can talk to the driver when he is off the boat doing the locks

    Great idea! will do

    Good suggestions, thanks.

We are currently considering a narrow boat based in Braunston with routes ether on the Union canal to Warwick or Oxord Canal down to… Oxford.

I picked up a pair of ‘custom’ nuts on the bay that have an 8mm hex recess, so I don’t have to carry around a spanner/etc with me on rides. Loves em

That’s kind of why I’m asking if anyone knows of particular canal routes that have decent kiddie stops en route

He’s a well behaved lad, people were born and grew up on these boats for heavens sake!

I’d have loved it at his age anyway, so am playing role of cool dad

Became a train driver last year and now on silly money (comparatively)
    Has me considering the same.

It was the in-squeeze that I could never master. Any tips on best position to create the best sphincter pucker?

SSS – to think that he would still be raising laughs nearly 30 years later hopefully makes it worth your suffering.

Am torn. I appreciate the craft of this sport, but I’m beginning to struggle to understand how we can defend a sport which is largely decided by hard blows to each other’s heads.

Not looking to incite the inevitable flaming here, it just seems quite an odd thing to accept in this day and age.

I remember watching the Eubank/Watson fight in 91, was a glory period for boxing and British boxers. I liked Eubanks bravado back then too.

Amazing cinematography and camera work. Decent to great performances. Slightly thin story stretched out a bit too far.

    Pretty much this.

I’d go as far as to say that several scenes were groundbreaking in terms of cinematography. In particular the first big fight with the native American tribe, it was truly immersive and took my breath away like no cinema experience since the opening scene in Saving Private Ryan.
The director is a visionary and I love the fact guys like him and Nolan have taken the baton and are genuinely going in new directions.
The final edit was possibly slightly too long – probably intended to emphasise the length/time of journey Leo had to undertake.
Must have been great in IMAX. Will reserve full judgement till 2nd viewing.

It’s weird how everyone seems to mention those two films at the same time. It’s interesting that when you mention one to somebody, they almost always assume you are talking about the other!

Agreed, I think Bardem plays the worst bad guy ever in No Country, and that’s meant as a true compliment.

It’s dreadful drawn out utter bollocks.

Weird how loads of people disagree. It’s a slow burner for sure, but has a great flavour

If you crave action and explosions, it’s not the sort of film you’d enjoy (although, ironically, there are a couple of great action scenes).
If on the other hand you enjoy the craft of film making – wonderful eerie soundtrack, beautiful colour palette and camera work, sense of isolation and tension built into the story, and excellent characterisation and to the point dialogue – plus a story of hardship and graft set at a pivotal point in the history of the US – then you’ll probably find it a very good movie indeed.
Sometimes it’s hard to accept a movie that doesn’t offer a gift wrapped ending. On the other hand, I find it leaves you to think a little deeper.

    Freddy got fingered.

‘LOOK AT ME DADDY! I’M A FARMER!’

For that reason alone, you are 1000% wrong.

Too many contenders for worst ever, but I remember walking out of Robin Hood (Crowe) at the cinema in disgust. The final in the Matrix trilogy was pretty much a travesty too, following the brilliance of the first.
