    REM Monster.

Bought it after hearing What’s The Frequency Kenneth and thinking they’d got good again.

Rest of the album was sh!t.

Funny, it’s one of my fave REM albums. In fact, I still remember purchasing the CD at HMV Hounslow in 1994.. (have it on vinyl now also).
Strange Currencies, Crush with Eyeliner, Star 69, Kenneth, Bang and Blame, all really good tracks.
Granted, a departure from earlier style, but I like the fuzzy feedback feel.

Anyway, my vote (among many contenders): Len – You cant stop the bum rush.

Sang Steal my Sunshine one night at karaoke, had fun, bought the album. A low point of my musical life.

anyone got any copy images of that green Dune that was linked a few pages back? Looks like page has been taken down.

Update: Have decided to reduce the stable and its the Dune thats staying. I love my other hardtail with all its fancy bits on it, and I will miss it, but the Dune simply gives me a simpler happier package for less dough.
Haven’t taken the plunge and gone tubeless yet. Have seen many comments on here about how easy it is – im not yet convinced!
Either way, I want to ditch the tubes.

Training or not, their genetic advantage was clear – GB looked like schoolboys and the Fijians snatched the ball from them like professional bullies. Awesome brutes.

One wonders why Fiji can no longer mount a strong challenge in 15s. I’d imagine with the right backing they could easily be as awesome as the Kiwis.
I guess the lack of additional defensive line players is what plays into thier hands best in 7s. That and the lack of now largely pointless constant scrummaging.

Is that really Fijis first medal? Blimey. What time is the final?

They do at least seem not to spoil their walk by lifting both feet off the ground at once…

Topical interjection there, the Italian walking precious gold medal winner has just been banned for eight years for steroid abuse. This following his previous ban for doping.
The daftest event of all, and cheating.

Anyone tried a Fat-B-Nimble on the rear yet?
I’m still on the original Juggernauts and keen to find out if they really are more draggy than the chunkier alternatives.

Dismissing performances of people you know nothing about is just spoiling it and depressing me!

Sorry, but it’s a depressing affair. Human nature is generally to win at any cost. When the rewards are so high corruption and cheating are inevitable. The best I support I can muster is to find sporting heroes that you can offer a level of trust based upon truly decent personality. And hope for the best.

Plus campaign for transparent sporting organisation. The IOC has done enormous damage by letting Russia off the hook. One can only begin to imagine the influence Putin’s cronies had in that output.

One look at the table of banned athletes or athletes whom have tested positive and the total number damns each and every other athlete by virtue of the sheer volume of the guilty.

Re Bolt – he has utterly destroyed the competition by apparently not even running a perfect race. We aren’t talking about someone who is just a bit better than a few others, we are talking about a relative chasm of time faster – hugely faster than those with ‘better sprinting physiques and techniques’, all riddled with massive performance enhancing drugs.
The 4 closest men to him in the history of his event (miles behind Bolt, miles ahead of the rest) are all proven cheats.
To suggest/hope that this speed is purely down to his chicken nugget diet, long legs, and cheeky personality is pretty much absurd.
Unfortunately, Bolt defenders now sound like Armstrong defenders did, before the biggest doping scandal in history unraveled.

Despite this, bizarrely, I still hope that Bolt is clean.

The Russians shouldn’t be there. It’s one big horridly organised political shit-fest.

Worst atmosphere at an Olympics ever. The road race safety, green pool, crowds(?) are a shambolic joke.

Celebrating a bronze like a gold is exactly the reason you’ll never win gold.

Hey ho, at least we have Bolt to look forward to. The man who has run massively faster than the four other fastest proven drug taking sprinters in history.
Who to put his astonishing world record achievements into perspective, is akin to slaughtering an EPO riddled Armstrong up Ventoux, on a Raleigh Grifter.

    Pfffftt.

At least the bronze medal losers stuck around to sign autographs for the entire crowd. Took them about 4 minutes to wade through the fanatical mob.

    BRRRUMMMM BRRUUUUUUMMMMMMMM!!!!

Turned up today. Mildly disappointed as it’s nowhere near as mint as I’d been lead to believe so have typically paid way too much for it. Hey ho, mechanics are sound and goes lovely, may make a great brat or cafe job out of it next year instead.

    Weeds currently being attended.

Comes across well in interviews, he seems to genuinely have that ‘no fear’ mentality that most of the great winners exude. Very rare for a Brit.

Brilliant swim, I set the alarm clock to watch his race live and wasn’t disappointed.

Shit. I love that green. I’m going to end up with Dune envy all over again.

What’s with these (C)BBC presenters? Every one of them makes me want to kill them with fire.

Was mid flow in a pub loo in Windsor once – when (no lie) Natalie Imbruglia wanders in and stares right at me.

She chose the wrong door (apparently). Best piss ever?

No urinals in the gents at my office, just a row of sticky floored cubicles with the remnants of a thousand pisses splashed liberally over them.

I’ve used the immaculate disabled loo since day 1. Has great arm rests for prolonged CoC play sessions.

Went and took a look at this old girl : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252454484036

It starts first time, seems to idle nicely and the seller is apparently going to put 12 months MOT on this week.
Have done a bit of research and found several statements proclaiming the GS850 to have one of the ‘most reliable engines ever produced’. Which is nice.
Chrome work is excellent, there’s an odd coloured side panel and sourcing an original may be tricky. It has just about the right amount of faded former glory that I like on old machinery – so i’m very tempted..

Crazy idle speed when on choke though, I thought the guy was determined to kill the engine but upon reading a bit more it turns out to be a Suzuki trait at the time. Cold blooded engines apparently.

Going back to take a closer inspection tomorrow as its currently wedged in between about a dozen other imports in his yard.

Someone please tell me that these bikes should be avoided at all costs, or, that its the best bike ever made.
