I don’t think it’s a question of it can’t be done, but whether it’s economically viable to get it done properly; or how well you can steer with your knees should a bodge job go wrong.

Don’t Canyon ship their bikes from Germany? I wouldn’t have thought it was legal under European rules to deliberately charge more in another member state other than for differences in postage and VAT which are negligible. Take them to the European court of Justice…………..

Clearly they have given you this money to get a new bike. It’s only right that you should start looking!

Thanks for your answers, I’m waiting for some calipers, so I’ll measure it on Sunday.

    b) Reduce prices of a lot of goods in the UK leading to deflation and a lack of consumer spending.

Surely a reduction in prices means more spending. Only a reduction in wages is bad and that is what we’ve had for the past 6 years.

Wow someone else who failed, I thought I was the only person in the entire world to fail it – even really thick kids left with their 25m swimming certificate and their cycling proficiency even if they failed all their GCSEs!

It was a copper who taught ours, he called BMXs ‘bedroom bikes’ and took a dislike to me because he thought my bike was too big for me and I was a loose cannon. At the end of the course he told me my number was up and he’d had enough of me and my renegade ways – at least that’s the way I remember it – it was 25 years ago so they might not have been quite the words he used!
