Large glass panes and a typical modern Low E coating should see you at around 1.4/1.6 overall with the framing which is well be low the 1.8(?) in doc L for dwellings. Just don’t buy Pilks K glass as it performs poorly, and has a brown tint.

As above there are plenty of companies who will be able to help. Having had experience of Smart Systems before, I personally wouldn’t pay my own money for it (i’d go for Schueco if I could afford it).

Yes that is Chester. Which part of part L do you think might be an issue? I only deal with commercial so am not up to speed on the domestic requirements

How wide do you consider minimal to be? True curtain walling will start at 50mm sight line (face width). If this is OK then it will open up a lot more options.

I believe some suppliers do a 35mm system.

Bolted or bonded frameless glass looks great but costs a fortune, especially if you go down the double glazed route.

One of our facades with a bolted single glazed entrance lobby. Pretty expensive!

There’s a couple of mediums and one large left in Northampton riverside store. Marked up as £20 on the shelf. Got the ‘15%’ discount which actually worked out to be 12.5% as I presume they scanned the wrong code. Also had a load of catlike helmets for £20 although I suspect they were ex display.

As above slam69 do them. Geometry wise they are more trail than xc. Bit heavy for al, but then you’re considering the big wig which is over 6lbs so figured weight wasnt an issue

Saying that I ride a trek stache which is both light and trail oriented (but not avalible frame only)

Nor did we the other day. Watched a programme and thought the editting crew had left their voice notes on the sound. Started on another programme and googled it. Also found out about the ad button!

Convert (in yellow) is currently £46 at CRC so a pretty good price. Sizing is on the small side though.

Yes please, that would be ideal. Any chance of dropping it to me in an email to stop the forum ninjas from nicking it?

I’ve tried the SEPT code but it doesn’t work on endura products and their funky sizing is what had caught me out (usually a medium or large but having to send back an XL for an xxl)

I’ve gone for a Yinding for the helmet as they have been getting good reviews over on mtbr. Bit more expensive than the cheapest option at about £32 but pretty small.

I was keen to go for a cableless solution for the bars like an Exposure Maxx D. Wasn’t prepared to pay £300 so have gone for one of these and some Panasonic 3400mah batteries. I still need to rig up a bar mount, but for about £65 I’ll have a 1500lumen self contained bar light that will run for 2 hours (or about 3.5hrs at 900lumens). Its a floody light so would be no good on the helmet but perfect for the bars.

I think the Rebas are about the same weight as the SIDs just with different damping, and cheaper, so might be worth a look. Or you could buy the Marzocchi 44 Micro Ti’s off my Stache (email in profile if interested)

We’re at 12 weeks with our little one.

At 4 weeks things weren’t easy. I wouldn’t say things are easy now, but she is getting in to more of a routine, sleeping better, easier to get down at night, and is getting in to a pattern.

Maybe try burping a few times during the feed to get rid of as much air as possible? Ours still writhes about after a feed either with a bad stomach, or needing the toilet.

My mate ordered them last week and mine were ordered Thursday or Friday last week, so very recently.

Pics on the site aren’t always what you’re going to get. Ordered some ‘small’ swapout bolts for the steel frames. Received some very very long bolts probably for the carbon frame. Mate had exactly the same issue. Long story short, pics don’t equal what you actually get.

Fire exits open outwards as that’s the direction of travel, I.e. you want to get out of the burning building. If you had to stop grab a handle and back up to open the door you might get crushed by all the people behind trying to get out. The panic bar let’s you hit the bar and the door opens in one movement so you can keep in running!

Second hand I think you’d build something pretty decent for sub £500

Just to play devils advocate on the weathering, general consensus is that open out doors are more weather proof as the rebate is on the inside.

However, as above, security is generally better on an open in

I have been thinking about a Chinese frame. I was originally thinking about running SS so horiz dropouts would have been preferred. I could run a tensioner if it came to it.

Most of the Chinese frames come in at around the same price as the Lurcher, but with the chance of customs fees on top of that. They also seem to have short ETTs for the size (or at least the cheaper ones do).

I have a look on ebay. Maybe someone on here has a Scandal or Lurcher in 19.5 hanging up in their shed they’d like to pass on 🙂

(off to search ebay before the missus gets up 🙂 )

Just looking at the weights above again, it appears that the V2 Scandal is only 80grms less than the new Parkwood (admittedly that’s the 1900grm claimed weight).

So really looks like i’d be after either the Lurcher or a V1 Scandal (or a DH)
