Exactly what I did Hob Nob, reduced the 160’s to 140mm but it still handled crap. Anything other than down was awful. I swapped to 140mm 32’s and it’s soooooo much better.

The handling is awful with 160mm forks, its like steering the Titanic, buy an Alpine.

Got up this morning and the pigeon is sat on the fence looking all quiet and asleep. No noise roused it though, alas the poor thing was dead.

    It was dead standing up?

would riding a full-sus stop you learning?

Well yeah, which is obviously why I said it.

Wasn’t an On One fan till last week as I had never seen one in the flesh. Bought my GF a 14″ 456 in salt and vinegar blue, full price, looked bloody lovely so bought a strong blue 18″ in the sale for £99! Fooking bargain, can’t wait to ride em.

All the comments about BMX, Singlespeed, fully rigid etc. etc. miss the point about who and where a bike like that is designed for. A kid with one of these will most likely have (at least) a bmx as well but no one in their right mind would consider riding a bmx through a rock garden for enjoyment.

So you think by the age of five they would have learnt enough skills to ride a skills compensator and stop them learning any further? Doubt it very much.

Starting on an FS is great for not developing any proper bike handling skills.

So with a chubby lad on a long seatpost sticking out of a tiny frame, because it’s more ‘chuckable’ and bending will occur.

Gotta love that “I bought a size smaller because its more chuckable”

    BS!

I’ve currently got a Hope Eternity, can’t fault it. Anodizing is very tough, its well made, looks good, and its very easy to adjust.

Seals gone my ass. More like they needed bleeding because they suffer from the all to common Avid problem, brakespulltobarafterbeingupsidedown syndrome.

Only if you put them on the wrong way!
Seriously though, you must try them! They are so much faster and smoother than all that sticky heavy weight rubbish! You won’t look back after you’ve tried them, I promise! I was amazed.

I have tried them, back in the 90’s.

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt for a while but now too clearly a troll.

    Me or him ^?

OP – I was planning on riding today but had to settle for a run instead, too much to do today. I will let you know on Sunday though.

I would stick with Advantage’s TBH, they are bloody good.

IMO no. They are highly intelligent, can be hyperactive, and demand a lot of attention. More so than a lot of other breeds.

Meh, Shimano brakes are a much better deal if you like your brakes to do more than just look pretty. I love other Hope bits but their current brakes aren’t competitive IMO.

Maybe in your opinion, otherwise no.

Hope X2’s beat XT’s in a recent brake test, in fact they won it.
