Tubes. Don’t get the whole running without them thing. Get very few punctures, every f**king ride we have to wait for someone to sort out a tubeless issue (normally by putting a tube, whilst muttering “well this has never happened before” until they are reminded of the last time their bike spunked Stans all over the forest floor).

    😆

I still use tubes, tubeless was much hassle.

My brother had an 18″ Trance and 18″ Anthem. He is the same height and inside leg as you mate and they both fit him fine.

I can’t see the point in using anything other than Shimano

    I can

davidtaylforth, by the looks of that tray, I would say you have been smoking illegal substances.

no. the kid i was coaching rode my bike for a bit and could stop on his easily but not on mine!! same conditions diff brakes

Would be a good comparison if they both had the same pads. Maybe try some new ones, they might be contaminated.

Looks like its heading for function over form….head over heart….may well be posting X2’s in classified very soon.

Do you feel the X2’s are under-powered?

Edit: I just read the original post. Put them on your bike then make up your mind, I bet you keep the Hopes.

12.5mm is 25% sag. Start there are see how it feels, reduce or add 5 psi at a time if you feel it needs to be harder or softer.

Pro pedal is just compression damping.

Hi Skywalker, yes Steve’s mate Chris… You must be Paul??

Steve is sitting in my living room… he said, he heard Orange 5’s are shit… lol

    Hi Chris, its James.

A medium will be the right size for you I think, small has a 560mm effective top tube and would be very short indeed.

Tell Steve I said hello, and piss off 😉

From that era, a 150bhp GT TDI would be my choice.

Awful MPG and bloody slow for it too.

What I was trying to say is I don’t feel you’d be going to see your Dad, you’d be going to see your Dad’s body. So whether you go or not then you’ve already seen him for the last time.

    Good advice that.

Personally I would rather remember him alive and didn’t want the image of him dead in my mind, hence why I gave it a miss.

X2s are massively underpowered compared to SLXs (or just about any brake for that matter). SLX all the way.

I have some 2012 X2’s and they are definitely powerful enough. I used some 2012 XT today, I would say they are more powerful, but power isn’t everything. You can only have so much before they lock up.

I would have the X2’s personally

So my lovely dad passed away on xmas day after a 2 year battle with alzheimer’s disease. His funeral is this friday, my mum, brother and sister went to see him after he had passed away at his care home and said he looked peaceful.

He is now at the funeral directors, I’m unsure whether to see him, he was very skinny when he died. Will he be in a sheet or in a freezer?? If I go and see him it might upset me and if I don’t it might upset me.

My dad passed away last year. My mum and sister went to see him at the funeral directors and they said they wished they hadn’t. I didn’t go to see him and haven’t regretted it TBH.

    Do what you feels right.

It is mid stroke control that I am really after, my current set up blows through its travel very fast

Isn’t that why they changed the leverage ratio on the new Zesty.

Had a read of the link, pretty interesting.

    Glad I bought Fox.

Edit: Although I do have a warranty to worry about.

so why spend many times as much as you need. decent quality fork oil is cheaper and as good.

If out of warranty then yeah definitely, but you don’t save that much, £5 at the most?

because fox fluid is just ordinary fork oil?

    I didn’t say it wasn’t.

    skywalker

Why would you spend shit loads on some forks and skimp on suspension fluid? £14 a quart for the Fox stuff, hardly going to break the bank. You use minimal amounts each service, it will last you ages.

Just buy the Fox stuff, its hardly expensive and won’t void your warranty if you have one.

Makita are good but Hitachi are prefered by tradesman as they last much longer

Strange, I’m a carpenter and much prefer Makita. My mate has a Hitachi impact driver and its a nasty thing.

Only 1.5Ah battery but better than the other Makita’s up there. You won’t find many situations where you need more that 14.4v, and your arm will thank you for it if you have to drill overhead anytime.

He hasn’t taken down the article about SPDs

He has definitely taken the original article down and replaced it with this[/url]

In the original article I did prove him wrong, he disliked the fact so much he deleted all my comments before removing it all together.

I was trying to find his article on SPD’s but he seems to have removed it. Maybe he finally realised he was talking absolute BS.

No doubt the bike fit one will disappear soon.
