What you eat matters, even the folk on here must realise it. Apart from the usual argumentative types who like the sound of their own backsides.

What you eat does matter, but you could eat junk food all day and lose weight if you are under your TDEE.

You would be **** starving though, and not get anything of nutritional value.

    Bloody hell.

If you care to read on..

no one has ever proved that theory.

Go for a run as soon as you wake up, before eating anything, and the lack of insulin means that your body will burn fat to fuel the run.

This is BS, no one has ever proved that theory.

    Right, for the simple ones…

I see where you are coming from wwaswas but that is the actual spec and RRP, although they are up for £3,195 elsewhere.

Would you like me to say it again?

Why get yourself all in a tizzy about a bike you obviously heve no intention to buy and by the sound of it think you wouldn’t like to own – life is too short!

I am looking to buy a 29er, saw this and was wondering if anyone else thought it was overpriced.

    Whats wrong with that?

Skywalker, I thought you were a 29er hater yet you appear to be looking for 29er hire bikes, are you on the turn?

    I don’t think I’ve ever slated 29ers 😕

Its probably because most people on here are overweight.

Tazzy, keep licking them windows mate.

Don’t buy it if you think it’s expensive.
    Quite simple.
There’s loads of stuff out there that i think is overpriced.

So I have to be looking to purchase a bike before I have the right to think its over priced compared to other bikes?

They are lovely frames, ride like a well thought out HT. I couldn’t justify that amount on one, but if I was flush and after a great fast HT it’d be very high on the list.

I take it you have ridden one then Mal-ec, tell me more.

You iz da window licka, its a hire bike. The charge is £50 per day, they are not selling it….is the website name not a clue?

    Oh look another one.

Do you realise how stupid you just made yourself look? 😆

Still a **** rip off though

Bit of a lame comment, £2799 for a Five Pro and it has pretty much the same spec as the competition.

This is a HT with XT for £3375.

I can’t see how they can justify charging £3375 for it?!

On a portable Parktool 5mms the biggest?

If you bought the small sized one yes, otherwise no.

    Your joking right?

    skywalker

    no they don’t.

steel ones generally do weigh a bit more, just like bikes really

but considering you’ll be pulling 2 children inside them does it actually matter? No!

I think you will find the cheaper ones, say from Halfords, weigh a lot more than the more expensive ones.

Why the _____ would you want to pull more weight then necessary when you already have two kids to pull along?

Using your logic you might as well put them in the car and tow that along!

That Chris Akrigg video clip shows what can be done when riding brakeless.

The same as with brakes, only without them 😕

    skywalker

The main difference is the cheap ones weigh a fooking ton.

Do not buy one from somewhere that imports them, you will not have a full Canon warranty as it is only valid in the country its from.

    skywalker

I thought Digital Rev sold imports (thats why they are cheap), therefore you don’t have a valid warranty as its not a UK item?

Agreed. I remember when we used to go and just ride with other people just to ride – no matter what they rode, regardless of their ability or what car they have. It was nice just to spend time with people doing something we enjoyed whether I knew them or not. How times change.

Times haven’t changed, you are just on a forum full of overweight, frustrated, middle aged, middle class bell ends, who think they are better than everyone else.

It was useful for a few weeks to build up a good base of fitness & strength, but I wanted to bulk up a bit more so started doing weighted press-ups (no space in the house for my weights bench since children arrived).

You don’t need a weight bench to do bench press, you can do it on the floor (dumbbells are best) as your arms aren’t supposed to go lower than 90 degrees.

I know I always go on about this site but it really is good.

Wait until the 2mm hex head rounds off and you have to cut the bloomin thing off!!

Or hammer a small flat headed screwdriver in the head and undo them.

    Jokes get funnier with repetition

That concept works, but the joke has to be funny in the first place.

I love mine, possibly the best bike I’ve had, it does everything its supposed to very well. I could have bought a Trek or Specialized etc, with slightly better spec, but that wouldn’t have made it ride any better and as its a bike that’s whats important.

I like the look of it, they look much better in the flesh. In fact I get more “that’s a nice bike” comments on it than I have on any other bike. Not that I really care TBH, its a bike not a fashion accessory.

Apart from if you have narrow rims and go with the 2.25″ or massive 2.4″ as theyll sit too round IME. Using low pressures to get them to grip they wont be overly stable in turns/landings and they’ll pinchflat, especially if you use normal size tubes theyll have to stretch a lot to fit
    2.25″ on XM719s are a touch big I reckon
IME of other treads 70a isn’t brilliant if its wet/muddy out

    What a load of bollocks.

Edit: Ahhh I see, a Schwalbe user, no wonder.

    The upgrades I would get personally are;

    1) RP23
    2) 140mm 32 RLC’s
    3) Performance pack 1 (which is a bargain)

The rest of the upgrades are pointless because you pay for almost full price for them but you don’t get the standard part as well. You would be better off selling the bits and buying the upgrades yourself.

Don’t buy one with 160mm forks until you try one with them, its totally different. I personally don’t like 160’s on a Five.
