I think a 48 will be a bit big as I usually sit between 46 and 47. Shame as have been looking at these as an option.

Yep Rocketdog, saw that ad unfortunately I’m a 46/47 so no good for me!
Looks like my usual last minute planning (or lack of) will sting me again!

We are looking at Woody’s too for an alternative to Gawton and a bit closer than BPW.
Is it worth it for a full days riding?

I need a shim on my 30.9 reverb. Waiting for the ks Lev external 175mm to be available so I can go 31.6mm and slam the post.

The Prodigy Experience tour – 1991 or 1992 I think @ Plymouth Pavilions. Very hazy night indeed!

@ nixie. How tall are you as wondering if an xl would be better for me at a shade over 6ft? Might sort out my long seat post issue though currently don’t feel cramped on a large.

Pondering if MIPs is an essential over a decent d3 etc that exceeds standards anyway these days. 6 days of concussion makes me think I want the best possible protection for the next hit!

Is the Bell Super 3 downhill safety certified with the chinbar on. Can’t help thinking that these type arnt going to off the same protection as a permanent full face?

Looks like I’d be going with either arch mk3 or flow mk3 I think. Just need to decide on which! I think the DT swiss use stance spokes don’t they?

The guy who is going to build it uses Stans mainly but could get whatever dependant on availability I guess. Glad to hear its not just my clumsiness that is to blame for the hope rims.

No probs at all with 1 x 11 setup though have never had it as a double on it tbh.
Given a 160mm fork would be ideal but cost a packet I’m going to try 25 quid offset bushings tonslacken mine initially!!

I’ve been loving my 26 Rocket since I’ve had it but am waiting on a ks Lev to bring out the 175mm externally routed dropper as my weird long legs seem to need a huge seat posts even though I’ve got a large and am only 6ft and a bit. Do any other owners find that reach is fine but need a lot of seat post?
Also whilst I’m at it I’m thinking of getting some offset bushings to slacken it by 1degree. Has anyone else tried this?
Current spec for any other owners interested!
Rs rev team dual air 150mm
    Easton haven 55mm stem
    Renthal fatbar lite bars
    Lizardskins north shore grips
Hope tech m4 evo with braided hoses 203f and 183r
    XT m8000 1 x 11 with 11-42 cassette
Race face turbine cranks with blackspire snaggletooth 34t ring
    Hope tech enduro wheel set
Maxxis hr rear minion front tubeless
    Rs reverb 125mm
    Charge spoon saddle
    Cb mallet dh pedals

    Suggestions on other improvements welcome…!

Does anyone know if the ks lev is going to do their 175mm post external or just integra? I can see it as options on some websites but not available anywhere?

I’ve got this bike but not experienced that. Every question I’ve had is always addressed by Paul at Cotic very promptly. Amazing customers service.

Just popped down to spokesman wheels and was really impressed. Really nice chap and he did the job there and then with great advice. Would definitely recommend!

Not being on Facebook I didn’t know they were close to finishing any new track. Steeper than Egypt? Might take some ropes!
Going to get a couple of hours in tomorrow. Only been once before so looking forward to it.

About a week before the 1993 race they had a local race on most of the track. It was my second ever race in juniors and I won despite briefly losing my bike in the second river crossing as the China clay pits had made it milky white and couldn’t tell how deep it was. Needless to say it was the highlight of my belief racing career!
I went to the main race too and watched a lot of people crash into one specific tree on the pipeline at warp speed. Broken bones a plenty I seem to remember.

I have a 34t one on an xt 1 x 11 set up. It hold the chain so well I’ve not even used the clutch in the mech yet and that includes days jumping and dropping my way down BPW and Gawton etc.
Not sure if this is just because of 1 x set up in general but v happy with it so far.

+1 for DH. Given the extra platform over the endure and no reAl weight saving i chose them to replace 2010 mallet 2 and very pleased. New models have better internals than the old ones too

I’ve not changed the seat post and it springs back into life fine as soon as its in a warmer place so don’t think it could be that.
It’s just been bled too so should be that either.
Will try to speed adjust thing though as don’t usually touch that. Cheers all!

Harking back to the comment from Cy at Cotic. Strange that the twitter update states fine to drill whereas I’ve contacted him direct and got the same “don’t do it as the butted tubing won’t take it…we strengthened the hole for the 27.5”. Wonder why the same person would give 2 totally different pieces of advice unless the twitter response was from someone else? Has anyone gone ahead on a 26 rocket and done it?

Is there anyone local on here that can guesstimate if the snow will settle up there tonight?

    skybluestu

I asked whether I could do this on a cotic however their response see was that they really renforce the newer models around the hole and it shouldn’t be attempted on non stealth models as would risk the integraty of the tube.
Not sure how true or not this is but put me off attempting!

Currently have 34t round which I think is going to be too much for serious climbing with a 11-42 so was thinking o of 32t rounds but just wondering ifI should consider oval. Interesting opinions. Might give a 32t oval a try and see how it feels.

I would go for a tablet each. Far better resolution and you can get multiple films on each via sd card. There are loads of 10 inch cheap android one’s available on fleabay/amazon.

Food for thought indeed. An accountant I feel will be worth the investment. The company does have rea h globally including France so that might be an option too.
Thanks for the advice chaps and/or chapesses.

Planning on moving August 2018 – August 2019.
Just starting to look into it really. Work has potentially no issues with it if it doesn’t affect how they have to pay me etc.
Thinking about using French taxpayers services such as health and education etc so would assume they would want a slice of tax at least? Would look to finish the last month with a long holiday for a month too.

    If it’s a 05 plate it will be either a 1.9 or 2.5. 2010 onwards are 2.0.
If the milage is up around 80k then you will be looking at a new dmf circa £800 so take that into account I’d it’s not been done.
I’ve converted a van to camper and love it however realise there are some things that you need accept, mainly that it’s a big box and as such quite noisy inside the cab if you are used to a car. This can be addressed to a degree with some serious sound deadening etc but will not ever be car quiet from my experience!

Budget around 60 max. Just grass and cobbles/gravel really as that’s where he will most likely use it.

I’ll check out the one in symths. There is a shop near here as well. Cheers.
