on the lever front, when it says left or right, is the button above or below the bars?

Looking to mount one on the left under the bars.

I think police cars have theirs like this as standard. Got pulled a few weeks back and while he was just driving behind me (without blues and full beam) his standard driving lights were blinding.

Bit naughty really as i thought it was some tool with brightlights hanging of my bumper so was just about to boot it, then saw police on on bonnet and thought better of it.

Feel for those that have had it. I know i need to keep it moving to stop it freezing up but the pain is so bad, its nice to get into a position where i can just sit and rest it.

Read about the manipulation CG, glad it worked. Think i’ll be begging for an injection tomorrow.

Cornish Rattler…soooooooooooo nice ice cold on a sunny day. Very easy drinking. Have a sister that lives local so when she comes up to see us she put a good few bottles in the car.

Girl who works at our place has been on 2. Few years between them and for different forces – East Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. She has also had some other points put on her licence too.

Also in the past month she has had 2 parking tickets and this morning got a fine for driving in a bus lane.

Some people should just be made to use public transport!!

Glad it wasn’t going faster, put a right dent in my window!! 😉

My boss’s mate hit a seagull head on. Went straight through the grill and put its head right through the radiator. Not happy.

Our cellar isn’t damp as such, but if you put card on the floor, it becomes damp over a few weeks. Its just got a brick floor.

The other month i wire brushed off the old flaking paint and put a dehumidifier down ours for a week. Think it filled it once. Then used masonary paint. The cellar has a radiator in it, 3 air bricks open to the outside, and a window into the coal shute so plenty of ventilation.

Never had rust on my bikes and only one saddle gets a bit of mould but that takes 6 months to show (old ratty bike on rollers so not used during summer).

Pook, Hora’s right. Its me and Chin on the bottom bit. Think you lot were waiting for us.

Donk, we kind of rode/slid that bit. You ended up riding wider and on the bushes to keep going. To be honest i think we rode quite alot of it. Just don’t grab a the brakes when riding stuff like that!!

@jambalaya – tried it on google and on AA route finder and it plots the route straigh through the yard. Theres even a road shown round the back of the site that you wouldn’t get a car down.

I had a wheel box turn up with a pair of bars in and a pair of gloves.

I can see why they do it but you’d think they’d get another couple of smaller sizes.

So what did you do Crapknees?

We’re in the same position and are thinking of renting out our current house and buying another. We can pay both mortgages if we can’t find a tennant and have a slush fund in place for if things go wrong with the rental one. Rent should cover all bills with a bit on the side and the new morgage is in place.

We’re third viewing the one we want tonight, just need to sort out the consent to let which original lender has provisionally agreed to.

    Fingers crossed…

My ex wifes dad got squashed at work by a few pallets of crisps years ago. Did some pretty major damage to his lower back, so much so he couldn’t carry on working. He had surgery to try and fix it but it didn’t work fully.

He ended up having basically an epidural every 6 weeks. First few days after he couldn’t do much, i think because he couldn’t feel anything. Over the next 4-5 weeks he was good with a fair bit of mobility and little/no pain. Then the last few days before the next injection, he would start getting pain again and have to stay in.

Hope you find a solution that works for you. It can work but its not an ideal solution.

If you head north of Sheffield, you kind of hit the bit between Sheffield, Huddersfield and Barnsley. Easy transport links all over, Woodhead pass to Manc (from Barnsley we hit Manchester Airport in 40mins. And it would be close enough for the mrs to pop to Huddersfield. Try Shelley, Shepley areas. Quite rural too.

My Jawbones steam up on uphills, even more if its warmish and damp. I tend to take them off for uphills if i know they’ll be a slog.

They fit great though so i’ll slap them back on for going downhill. Vented lenses and airflow is the key. Also have used Fairy liquid on the lenses and this stopped them steaming up for a couple of rides Easy to re-apply. Put on neat, rub in and then buff off with a dry cloth.

Our visit to San Fran was only short as we were on a bigger tour of the west coast. We did a helicopter trip over the city, under the Golden Gate bridge and over the other side. Great way of seeing the city. Plenty of other things to do as stated above. Chowder and sour bread from the pier is very nice!!

As above there are plenty of places to see near. Did Mammoth, Death Valley, and Grand Canyon. We rented quads and did a sunset ride round Bryce Canyon, amazing!!

Theres plenty to do, go and enjoy yourself.

We’ve had problems at work with planning permissions as North Yorks said it was a Selby matter and vice versa….quick solicitors letter mentioning lost earnings and all of a sudden they worked out who was responsible.

Bit of a pain all in all, but not a bad place to work.

I did my back in about 10mins and then the front (done the next day) took over an hour!!

Build up the layer of tape under the rim strip so the bead of the tyre is tight.I went tubeless with Joes and got a roll of tape to build it up with. S*~t loads of soapy water with lots of bubbles and put loads onto the rim/tyre bead. Valve at top, push tyre down at the top and bottom and then pumped like mad with a track pump. It gripped and went up. Let it stand for a few hours, valve core out and goo in. Pump, spin, bla bla bla.

    Worth it in the end.

I’ve got a 2011 314 and if you change the bars, its a cracking bike!!

Goes up hill well (depends how big your legs and lungs are), but on technical rocky climbs its superb. It just finds grip and you can just find a way up.

On the downs i find its made me quite a bit faster than i was before on my Fuel EX. I feel safer throwing it into rough stuff knowing that i stand a good chance of still being attached to the bike onthe other side!! 😆

I was looking at a Remedy the other year and the only thing that put me off was the top tube and how close it was to “little skiprat”. Toptube on the Zesty drops alot more so plenty of room.

Ride both and see which fits/you like best but don’t be put off by it just being a 314 and not a 914, its still a great bike with room to upgrade.

Oh, and in just over 12 months i’ve not replaced any bearings or bottom brackets and theres been some very wet/gritty riding in that too.

I did my NEBOSH General certificate a couple of years ago now, 2 full weeks having stuff drilled into you H&S bods, 1 day of exams and an on site practical. Work in the waste industry and now i’m studying for my WAMITAB COTC for hazardous waste treatment. All waste site have to have one for so many operational hours per week so you can sell your skills to others.

Also look at being a DGSA – Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor – good money in that too.

Just get ready for being called the “fun police” at work!!

I had them at the start of April and didn’t get out of bed for about 10 days. Don’t think i had them to bad either as i just had spots on the top/back of my head.

Think i rode for the first time about 3 weeks after they started and then slept again for a couple of days. Also ate loads after the ride. My ride was only maybe 12 miles so god knows what you’ll be like after 200!!

I would say don’t do it or can you put it off and dio it in a couple of weeks?

As for what to do until then?? Rest like mad and eat well.

I had the op 2 1/2 years ago now. I don’t suffer like i did but i do have some problems with the muscle on the palm under the little finger, but only when i’m riding. I wear a wrist support (even just a light weight Schole one works) and have no problems at all.

The op (all 4mins of it) was the best thing as mate of mine put it off and had injections. Only lasted 6 months and his hand went worse than mine so had to have the op anyway.

As such its not the tax thats gone up, its the waste that is no longer taxed as inert (and therefore a lower tax rate).

Trommel fines (so say soil and stone that is trommeled out of the waste) used to be classed as inert so only taxable at £2.50 per tonne. However, the tax man and the EA have said that as other material may come out in the trommel, you can’t say that its 100% inert so its now taxable at £64 per tonne, the active rate!!

Best thing is that if as a householder you dig out your garden of soil, the skip cannot go direct to landfill so has to go through a MRF (transfer station). Once in the transfer station, it cannot be classed as inert so they have to paty full tax to tip it!!

Plus they are back dating the tax. A tip local to us is getting hit for £16.2 million in back tax.

This is why skips have shot up in price.

All this is because the tax man had to give out £300 million the other year, so now they’ve found a way of taking it back.

But its bloody stupid what they’ve done!!!

Got a bad feeling for McGuinness last night watching the show. Me and our lass both said it. Just get the feeling he’s going to have a big off.

Would love Guy to do it this year, crazy mental bloke but wears his heart on his sleave and speaks his mind. Top bloke.

Agree with Billy, think the Dunlops will do something this year. They just have no fear of the place and are hungry for it.

If your after cleaner advice, have a look at these two: –

    http://www.safetykleen.co.uk/plantilla1.php?id=4&len=uk

    Aqueous Parts Washers

I used to work for the first one selling/servicing industrial parts washers. They were mostly solvent based but were starting to move into water based.

2nd one is run by a lad i used to work with who went off on his own.

Both systems are to big for home use. Think you’d be better off with the Machinemart/Sealey tank with a degreaser in it, be that solvent or waterbased.
