Thats just awsome!! Great work L. Glad to see it up and running, and lets be honest, giving out more light than is really needed!!

Liked the look of the housing when you'd just done that. Hope the water testing goes well and keep us posted as to how you go on.

    Well done. Skippy

    Hi Andy

I read your other thread and agree with what the others were telling you. I have a 08 Fuel EX8 and think its a great bike. Its light, well built, well kitted and the suspension is soooo smooth, you just don't know about it or worry about it. It may take a bit longer to go up hill than other bikes but when it goes downhill, it can take it all. Its comfy for all day rides and it rides well on technical trails too.

Only problem with the bike was the tyres and rims. Just a proper sod fitting tyres. Got some new wheels and all was sorted.

I live between Sheff and Barnsley and so ride in the Peaks and the bike just rides well. Puts a smile on my face!!

    Cheers guys,

Thanks muddypuddle for the address. Will pen them a letter now.

Tazzymtb, only power tools i use are at home for the odd bit of DIY. I have bad thumbs in the cold due to breaking both of them so will have to ask the question. Thanks for that.

I work for a waste company so a bit of computing, listing waste, moving drums, bags and bottles of waste about. My left hand is not too bad but the right is the worst. Grip between thumb and index finger feels weak, now having problems with pop bottle lids. Like most of you its night time when its worst. Hand goes numb most nights and when the pins and needles start its time to start shaking. Just a waiting game now although the consultant likes to get things done pretty quick.

The Speedy Snail, what do you do? I work for a waste company and have the entire list of EWC codes at hand. Will be able to get a code for you if you need it.

What to do, have phoned Jim Walker and they say don't ride it, check with the shop that you bought it from that its the same as any other, not just a rouge one that got through quaility control. But the bolt needs to be right through the threads……………..

……………..Thomson in the US have emailed me to say that as long as the bolts are done up to the right torque, it'll be fine!!

    Who do you trust??

    Mark,

I lost my dad last week to cancer so like many on here, know how your family is feeling at being told that someone they love has this disease. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was given 3 months. That was 5 1/2 years ago.

You get your head round this and you fight it. I know its hard to do but grab it by the horns and give it what for. Your family will be there for you, rows and all because your you and they love you for it.

"I'm a surly, self-righteous, cocky difficult bastard" then you sound like the right kind of person to beat this.

    Keep positive and fight it.

Don't use ammonia, it smells and doesn't work!! Got some from a chemist pal of mine. It was strong stuff and all it did was make the garden smell like a pi$$er!!

For an old road bike i had (alloy post in steel frame), long slots with a hack saw time!!!

Just find something good to watck on tv and get going.

Thanks for that, will be putting an order in next week!! Had an Inbred and liked the way it rode. Still got some of the parts so looking forward to building one up.

Going to make it nice and light! Did just wonder with the tube issue why they had stopped using Scandium and gone on to 7046. Cheers KINGTUT.

Fan here too!!! Did the same as Ron Jeremy, season 1 in a day and a half and lovin the 2nd.

They've just doing the 3rd in the US now. I just hope that they don't try and spin it out too long and that the jokes and one liners don't suffer for it.

Got the wide lens one. Came with the 2GB SD card and lots of fittings. There isn’t one in the pack i got for fitting it to the bars but theres the helmet strap and some other for fitting to your your bike(if its got flatish profile tubes) as its stick on.

Did manage to mount mine on the bars with the use of hope light bracket…but you get better pics if its on your head.

It is the parents fault for not controling their kids. My dad was a teacher from back in the day when they used the cane, and he didn’t have a problem with dishing it out to his own kids if we’d done wrong.

These values look to have skipped a generation and now parents are scared to tell their own kids off. This goes on for a couple of years and then they wont be told by anyone!!

My sister wouldn’t give her son a clip when he was naughty, saying that you need to “bargain with them” to stop them doing things. Now he’s a right little sh#’. Sorry for my sister adding to the problem 🙁

My mum had a problem with teenagers from the local school going round the back of her house. She cant walk well, and lives with my v.poorly dad who now cant do much. They live in a bungalow with access to rear garden from both sides through gates.

One day mum was in kitchen when 3 boys ran past. They were long gone before she could get to see them from the front. They left her a gift outside the back door, one had taken a s#@t!! She was upset by this so me and our lass went round, picked up the crap and took it into school. Headmaster had a field day with it!!

Next, 3 girls round the back of the house smoking. Dog out one door, run round the front. Got hold of one by the coat and called her every name under the sun. Even made her cry!! Then walked her into school to see the head. She grassed the others up straight away.

Its not that i like picking on kids, its just that i don’t like how they make my mum and dad feel. Theres no need for it. They need to be taught respect!!

Go and talk to the head of the college, they may even put a couple of teachers out in the mornings just to watch the kids in. Thats what they’ve done near mums. And if you know Sheffield, its High Stores.

Just be carful on what you start out with. A vans a van for a reason. Lots have had a hard life having loads lifted in and out of them. They get driven where they shouldn’t go and driven hard. I wouldn’t want one of our vans when we get rid of them (and i drive one now!!!)

Just take your time picking the van and make sure its not been abused!!

Sorry to hear this mate and good luck. I hope you can both get through it all ok.

Having been through it, i’d just warn you to be prepared for it not to be amicable in the end. Having started going through it all still on talking terms, we ended up just talking through solicitors.

As for the DIY divorce, I’d look at getting a pre-settlement agreement written up by a solicitor. That way you know what your both getting/not getting prior to it going any further. It only takes one drunken call late at night and it all goes down the pan.

    Good luck

Cool, cheers podge. As for the building side of things, i work for a waste company and know plenty of people in the waste game in Sheff. Could be usefull for recycled building materials for trails/resurfacing stuff. Keep me posted on this side of things and mention it to the chap in charge. I realise not much can be done at the moment but could be handy later on

Just need to work a time out, but roll-call for riding Wharncliffe on the 21st of June are : –

Yes, i know its fathers day, but as mines very old and crusty 😆 i shall only be popping in for a quick 10 mins.

Can we get a ride in that day or do we need to put off? I’m away the following weekend but will be back for the 4/5 July.

Is a evening ride easier for people?
