The clean timber is a mix of both though i’m keen not to start blocking things up with resins. Its untreated and not painted either.

Been looking at all the PPE for the last few days. We have hats, face shields and ear defenders at work.

Thanks for the hint about the log splitter

Edit:- trousers are noted as is the paying attention when using. Just looking for local training course now

The trees for next year at the earliest.

We get a fair bit of good clean timber brought in to work for disposal and its a case of getting that to size at the moment. We also get “green waste” in from some tree cutting people that includes branches.

All good on the PPE front, i’m HSE at work so look after all that anyway.

Just weary of how nasty these things can be.

Got one a few months ago after having iphones for a few years. As previously said, it takes a day or two to get used to the way the phone works when moving from apple but its just a better phone.

Taken the same pic side by side with the mrs and her iphone 6 and its so much better on the Samsung. Battery lasts much longer and its much easier to use.
    Happy i made the change

Agree with putting it on the market.

Hadn’t thought about the extra stamp duty so even more reasons for her to sell and be clear.

    Thanks all.

Jekkyl -by “not enough money left” i mean they have equity of approx 25%, take off some debts and its knocked down and then split means he’s looking at 7-8% equity left in the house so would be need a 95% mortgage.

They’d been to see an independent mortgage person who had applied for this and had it knocked back.

Situation keeps changing daily so its a mare keeping up with it and working out if things are in here interest or not.

We quit Sky when we moved house. Sky kept calling and emailing offers for us to come back to them. Currently have 75% off for a year. I could of got everything for £20 per month as above. When that ends, i’ll call them back up and ask for a repeat order (or go through to cancellations and get them to do it). The kind lady at Sky to me to do this.

Tried other TV boxes but the sky one is just so much easier to use.

Congratulations OP. We tried ICSI and IUI and had one round of IVF with no luck. Went for one last go at IVF (before going down the adoption route) and it worked. We now have a 16 month old boy and 3 frosty’s on ice.

My wife still looks at him in wonder. Its amazing when it works after such a long and painful process.

Advice on being a good dad, i have none other than enjoy it. It fly’s by so make the most of it. Just be there for each other as it can be hard at times but when you look at how long its taken to get where you are, i think you relax a bit and remember how lucky you are that its worked.

We’ve just gone back with the 75% discount. Like the pause/rewind/record function of Sky. We tried BT tv but the remote is only ok if you have the thumb of a 6 month old and the whole planner is much easier to use (IMHO).

Kept my broad band with BT but will argue with them next year when they try to bump it up and my deal ends.

Cheers all. Plenty to look at and glad that you’ve had some real life experience with them.

Get some Yakult down your neck. When i had food poisoning (and ended up in hospital for the best part of a week) i was given it to drink to try and get the bugs going again. I still use it now if i have a dodgy belly and it seems to help.

Get some other photos taken. You want people to look at the photos and think i’d like to live there, not look and think have they just had a stir-fry or was that from last night, are the scraps in the white bag on the side and is the spoon on the sink from pudding or cereal.

Splash a bit of paint about too to brighten it up too. Landing looks bright but the kitchen looks tired. Hide the dehumidifier as that shouts damp or condensation problems.

Have a good tidy, take some new photos and try it with another agent.

Used to live in Oughtibridge early 2000’s.

Nice little village with easy links into town. Depending on where you buy, you could flood. When i left they were building lots of houses in the bottom on/next to the sports field and park. This was always very wet in winter and would hold water. On the hills you are ok. Good riding on your door step and close to some great countryside.

Small village so usual small village problems, everyone knows each others business and people end up sleeping with other peoples partners (not me by the way but i can tell you more if you need).

On the whole a nice place with nice people and good pubs, just don’t spend lots of time in there or you may lose more than just money.

I had it in my right hand. My family as it turns out have slim wrists so theres not much room in there for all the bits. That and my job meant i ended up suffering with the pins and needles and lack of sleep.

I went to the docs and they referred me to the hospital. Had all the nerve tests done and was then sent to see the ‘wrist man’. He got me to hold my hand above my head and tell him when the pins and needles start. This was pretty much straight away. He told me not to bother with the injections and to go straight for surgery. my father in law had the injections prior to having the op and told me they hurt more than the op itself.

Had the op one saturday morning. 4 mins from start to finish. Some pain afterwards but paras and brufen sorted that. No driving for 10 days til the stitches came out but after that was ok.

Few months to fully recover and i was fine. Palm wont open out as much as the other but no pain or pins and needles and can do press ups so all in it was worth it.

Had my T130 Yari a few months now and really like it. Been to BPW with it and felt less beaten up than last time on a 150/140 trail bike. Its a low bike so you can really move about on it.

All the bits are holding up so far. Changed the tyres and the bar and stem (liked my own set up) but other than that its been spot on. Put some heli-tape on to stop paint rub (always do) but it looks good. I like it.

Scaled has it. They will have little time and not much idea whats happening at first. My sister sent us some shopping from Tesco’s. Had no idea until the van turned up to deliver it. Champers and chocolates, some beer and a couple of nice meals for us then some nappies, wipes and a pack of grows for the little lad.

Made life easy for a couple of days and was a nice touch as they were thinking about us too.

Richard, as you’re bottle feeding, have you looked at a different milk? We found out our little lad had a milk protein allergy (not lactose) so was prescribed aptamil pepti 1 (i think). Was much easier on his tum and if i remember cut down on the trumps.

    Good luck with it all.

Richard, how are you feeding the baby? My mrs started on the boob but he would feed for a bit and then just use them for comfort. From this we worked out he wasn’t getting enough to fill him so the mrs started expressing. After feeling like a cow for a good few weeks, we moved to bottle feeding. We knew what he was having and we could fill him. He would burp and then fall into what we called a milk coma, eyes glazing over and ready for bed. Like this he would sleep.

We also made the decision to sleep in different rooms. My mrs would head to bed at 9pm and i’d stay up to do the last feed at about 11-11.30. I’d then take him up and put him to bed in her room. Off to bed i went. She’d wake at 3am to feed and i’d sleep through to 6.30 and go to work. This gave us both 6ish hours sleep each in a row. Before we did this we would bicker about a knife left out or a plate on the side, really stupid stuff but we were both shot!! I’m not saying this is how to do things, we’re only at 9 months so still have a long way to go, but it worked for us.

Now we do controlled crying at bed. Bath, milk then bed at pretty much the same time each night, he cries/whimpers for 5-10 mins and then is off for the night waking at about 7.

As for swaddling, our little lad loved it at first. After 2 days he was rushed back in after a 999 call and spent about a week in hospital. When he wasn’t in the bili bed, he was swaddled up sleeping. We shushed him and was never told not to.

I run 4 tokens in a 130mm Yari and its loads better than it was when it only had 3 in (weighing 14st 3lb). I had no idea there were any in it as it came fitted to my new bike. When i opened it up to put some in, i found 3 there already and thought bloody hell, how many does it need to feel good and how many will it take?

Fitted another one, dropped the air and its been great. Like others i’ve still not hit full travel but i’ll drop the air again a little and it should be even better. Still have one token spare at the mo should i need it.

Thanks for the link above. I got minimal info for my forks so now i know i can slap more tokens in if i need and it should still work.

We looked at these the other year too. Think we were quoted £8-9K for the roof which was more than what we thought they were going to be.

We’re now moving house but if we were stopping, we were going to look at the foundations and see about turning the conservatory into an extension. More brickwork (still with plenty of windows) and a proper roof with some velux’s.

The extra room they give ‘in’ the garden is great but when its hot or cold they are a mare to get on with.

I had it a few years ago. First started feeling a bit off and then had what i thought was a spot on the top of my head. Scratched it and that was it, some more came up. Went to Boots and the lady there said it looked like shingles and to get to the walk in centre.

They confirmed and said to rest up with pain killers and plenty to drink. Knocked me off my feel. Spent a week off work sleeping, popping some pills and a drink and then sleeping again. Went back to work but was still worn out. I remember going to the first Steel City Downhill the weekend after going back to work. Lasted a couple of hours and then went home to bed and slept the afternoon away. Still have the scabby dents in the top of my head from the spots/blisters

Take it easy and don’t push yourself.

I did this in a 55 plate transit connect, full tank from empty. Was fine for 10 miles or so from the services but then started to slow and the stopped. I worked out what i’d done at this point.

Next day drained the tank, new filter and plenty of diesel and all was good. If it was only a few litres, i’d of been fine. Just keep it topped up for a few days, whats the worst that could happen??

I’m here. As Podge says, did the same to my Fox forks. Took them to these: –

    R T T Motor Cycle Services Spares & Repairs
    2 Hoyland Road

    South Yorkshire

    01226 743211
    01226 743 287

Left them with them for a few hours on a saturday and they fitted a whole inset rather than a helicoil. Forks have been sound since. Think it was a tenner all in. Proper old school shop but service is great.

I went from a 150mm/140mm to a T130 Yari and its a really nice bike to ride. I’m 6’1″ish and went for a large. Its a lot lower than my Zesty was but a good bit longer…its a nice fit for me. Had a bit of a play with stem and bars and now its bob on. It just feels right.

Yari needed a bit of a play too but have ordered some tokens and am sure they will do whats needed. It’ll be even better then.

Been out a few times now so still getting used to it but get things right and it feels silly quick, and each ride has got better and better. It feels quite light but also feels solid, no rattles as all cables are internal so its very clean looking.

I tried my local shop and they had none left in large at the start of march, made a call to another shop and they had one. Slapped the deposit down and went next morning to try and collect.

If they can get in the garage then close the door behind them, can they not just take their time to force your inner door and get to the good stuff?

Did it a few years ago but with honey dew. It needed a week to soak in.

Cut a hole in the top. Stick a knife (only a thin one) through the to get to the pips and slice them up a bit. Tip over and shake to get the pips out. Stab the flesh a bit too.
Stick in a funnel and fill up. It will take a while for it to soak in but over the week you’ll need to top it up several times.

When its party time, slice up and enjoy. We were smashed…….big time!! Sick and headache next day but at the time it was fab!! Even the juice got you twated!!

New van time for me at work. Currently have an Astra van which other than a couple of bits has been fine for over 150k. Looking at a new shape Berlingo and as mrs skip is expecting, i’m looking at the 3 seat one. I know the middle seat is small for a real person but it has a 3 point seat belt so would take a child seat if needed. To the people that have them, what are they like?

    jedi – Member
berlingo vans rock. got a new one and it has so many money bumps.

    What do you mean Jedi?

Mrs skip has our car and i’ll jump in the van to pop to the shops or pick stuff up for the house. Have my permit to go to the local tip so no problems putting rubbish in the van and keeping the car nice. Theres times when having a van is great but its nice to have both options.

We went through 5 rounds of clomid,3 rounds of IUI and then started on IVF. First attempt at IVF gave 14 eggs which went to 11 fertilised. This dropped again to 4 but these needed freezing as the Mrs suffered with over stimulation. Once recovered and after a 4 month rest, 4 were defrosted and we had one implanted which. Blood tests showed a chemical pregnancy but it came to nothing and the other 3 didn’t come to anything.

We were in two minds for giving it another go after all the ups and downs. We had made our mind up to adopt but wanted to give it one more go. During all the drug use/ injections, my wife was monitored very closely. This time we got 7 eggs, which went to 7 fertilised. 4 went to day 5 with 1 being implanted and the other 3 being frozen.

Mrs is currently 38 weeks pregnant. Have got 3 frosties so we may try again providing everything goes well this time, or adopt like we were going to before.

My advise is talkn to each other a lot. It’s the most emotional thing you can do. Also have a back up plan. Ours was adoption. Be open to the fact that it may not happen but hope it does. I found it a balancing act and thought it would never work but lucky for us it has.

Good luck and be there for each other

I rode Dalbeattie a few years ago in a cold wet February and and there were only a few puddles to worry about and these were more near the “features” rather than on the actual trails.

From what i remember it drained well and was holding up well.

Have you told them its green waste? Most places will offer some discount for 1 type of waste being segregated. General waste is £95+ per tonne these days.

The permits (road licences) are a joke. If we can give 3 days notice to our local highways, its about £20. If a customer needs a skip straight away its £90 for the licence. Things like this promote fly tipping.

Sorry but we’re miles away and wouldn’t be able to supply you.

I have the 1.3cdti in a works astravan. Engine has been solid and has approx 148000 on it. Split a water pipe monday morning but other than that, thats been it.

Did have some bearings replaced in the gearbox at about 120000. Was told Vauxhall make the originals out of cheese and is a common problem on the 6 speed box. Get a whirring sound and its not the wheel bearings. Gearbox man said happens above 60000 but saying that my wife had 6sp astra car with 90000 on the clock and that was ok.

Fuel wise my van will do 600+ miles to a tank.

Do not go anywhere near Better Bathrooms. Fitted a toilet and 2 months after, floor was damp at the side of it. Checked all water fittings and pipes and all was good. Turns out the water was coming through the pot. No cracks, just soaked through.
Taking stuff back is a nightmare so i wouldn’t touch the again. Would sooner have an open hole in the floor than use their stuff again.

I have a Hope press fit BB in my Zesty. Its been in over 2 years now and i’ve had to replace one set of bearing (which are the same size as the external ones). Once the cups are fitted and bolted together, you can knock the bearing out with a screwdriver and back in with a socket.

Fitted by the shop when i bought it, theres no need to buy the tools to fit/take out as bearings can be replaced as needed.

Press fit BB’s wouldn’t put me off a new frame or bike although my frame is ali and not carbon so don’t know about that side of things.

Drive the coast road and call in to the Cosy Nook Cafe in Port Erin for a huge breakfast, Peel for icecream and the castle as above. Manx queenies too.

Top of Laxey Wheel has cracking views on a clear day. Drive the TT and when you watch it on TV, you’ll think how mental the speeds they do really are.

Call in at Jurby Junk for a look around and you be amazed at what tat they try to sell, dolls legs and arms, proper crap but its ace!! You have to buy something.

Bike museum is now shut but you can go to the museum in Douglas which has a couple of bikes and loads of other stuff.

Cracking place to go, even better with the TT.
