Just picked up on thread. Well done chap!
Abingdon way, so know the Ridgeway well. Agree with the various comments about quality of (summer!) riding around Chilterns section of Ridgeway.

Real sad to hear about Ivor at Red Planet. Lovely guy. Lost touch when shop closed, but I’ll remember him every time I throw a leg over the P7.

Giffgaff have discontinued unlimited data £12.00 goodybag to new users & increasing price to £15 for existing users. £15 gives 5gb going forward to new users. Trying to discourage data hoggers apparently, and improve network performance as a result. Much needed as Mrs data experience woeful.

Caught the bug again with the Beetle a few years ago, then the VW camper and the new Mini is waiting on a wet weekend. Asked for Unimog for Crimbo. Discontinued, but available via EBay. Sad, I know, but I honestly find it really therapeutic!

Mrs has unlimited data goody-bag which seems a good deal, except the data speeds here in darkest Oxfordshire are so slow as to be unusable.
Good point is that you’re not tied in if it doesn’t work for you. Also, if you’re after a new, unlocked iphone they are cheaper than apple store.

She’s changed out of the fmb’s so there’s no reason to continue putting up with her shrill squawking. I’m off to bed.

Sat through a particularly tedious meeting today, during the course of which one individual referred several times to ‘B-A-U’ with no explanation. Eventually figured it was Business As Usual. Only to be followed by B-B-A-U, Beyond Business As Usual. At least nobody started dribbling on about low hanging fruit………..

Scheduled to go between 04:00 and 04:30 Sunday. Audible alarms to sound 15 & 10 minutes prior, with a gunshot 1 minute before to scare roosting birds. Yes, really. Number of road closures will be in place. Also, I am told a section of the 34 will be shut. Northmoor Trust are charging for car parking at the Clumps, likely to be busy, and on-road parking is impossible up there.
I’ve suggested to the Mrs up on the Ridgeway by East Ilsley. I’ll be in bed. Take your bike & have an early morning ride after the action. Nice loop from the car park there, along the Ridgeway dropping down towards Cholsey then returning via lanes & bridle ways thru Astons, Blewbury, Hagbourne, railway line towards Upton, over to Harwell , under the 34 and then climb back up to the Ridgeway.

Like Woppit a fully signed up Naim fanboy, so personally would wait ’till the Mu-so arrives before deciding. Have a Ruark R1 by the bedside, and am mightily impressed, so would be inclined to look at their R4i if significant other required input into decision.

Trainers, or sports shoes, are for doing sport in. Birkies are for 54 year olds, tho’ I have yet to wear them with socks.

Historex Agents! That takes me back to when my eyes were 20/20. Still got boxes of unmade figures up in the attic – never did get round to them. What we did before iPads……….lapses into reverie.

The only TV programme I like on BBC is Top Gear and we only get 12 episodes a year, if that. The rest is moronic drivil IMO. The only stuff we really watch is Game of Thrones, Walking Dead and 24. All of which are on commercial TV

    Really?
    Oh dear………….

If weight might be a problem, and it was for my Missus, have a look at their stainless pots. We picked up a set of 3 from one of their outlet stores and later added a large two handled soup pan. Been excellent.

Worth paying for a Linn to be set up properly by an experienced dealer. If it sonds inferior to an, on the face of it, comparable Xerxes you’ve done something wrong…….

Patagonia still produce it. Unfortunately you have to sell a kidney to afford it. On the upside it lasts forever.

Work on average 3 days in office which requires 3.5 – 4 hour 130 mile round trip. Yes, really. OK for a few months, but really grates thereafter. Knackered if I end up doing it 4 or 5 days. Utter waste of time, energy etc. Avoid if you have viable options.

Spooky – my Tilley is 14 too! Still worn every summer. If sir prefers the cap style, Patagonia did a lightweight one for running. May still do.

We have a very nice Farrow & Ball bamboo paper as feature wall in the hall/stairs. Works well with the height in the stair well. Expensive tho’.

Another vote for Bonty Mud X here. Kept one on the back all last year, and only took the front off for a couple of months mid summer. The way this year has gone so far they’ll be staying on. Easy tubeless set up too on Stans rims.

All I’d add to tthew’s comments are have a dump before you go out and, if you are really worried about a pound or two either way, avoid mud.

I like the look of this, interested in opinions once the frames are out there, built up and used in anger.
Recently reduced the bike cave complement to 3 so it may be possible to get it past the investment committee………

We’re common as muck but got fed up with the old boots that Tesco tried to pass off as butcher meat. Paying a bit more for edible food seems worth it to us.
