Bah, I got a small pay rise and used that to justify a Coptic before
Then I decided a needed a whole new Slx drivetrain..
£700+ justified by 6% pay rise.
    Just do it.

I’ve cycled the isles from barra to the butt of lewis a few times.
    Any specific questions, please ask.
Also, when it rains up there it’s usually heavy but brief.
Can be a fair bit of wind mind you.
Oatcakes and pate are all you need for fuel.

if its to one side its probably not setup related. If there’s been no injuries and the fact that its on one side more than another its more likely to be you than the bike.
I’d go and see a physio.
I have spent a fair amount of money on physio work over th last year sorting acute neck pain that i thought was A:injury related and B:setup related. Wasn’t either. Shitty posture which irritated a nerve.
    Get it looked at.

really depends on the location of the pain? Base of the neck? base of skull?
Road bikes generally cause a lot of neck pain but mtb’s rarely do.
Any injuries of late? shoulders? Back?

    Get a road legal crosser.
Excellent learning machines. Very forgiving when dropped.

Used to be a guy who hung around the train station at Dalreoch (Dumbarton) in Scotland.

Would always hold exactly the same conversation (complete with stammer):

B-b-b-b-b-b-Billy McNeil! Billy McNeil! He was big-big man!
Billy-billy-Billy McNeil! Great, big, big man!
How about you son, you’re a big man yersel! What are ye, six fit four?
Billy-Billy McNeil! Billy – Clint Eastwood! Clint Eastwood and Clark Gable!
    Big-big-men!

I think I remember this guy. I may be imagining though.
Around the same time as KaKa used to hang around the high street offering Bj’s to us schoolboys.

If nothing else, you’ll pay a huge premium on borders as they seem
To be incredibly fashionable at the moment.
Get a paterdale. Great little dogs. However both breeds will murder almost anything little and furry.

Use two pieces of 6mm ply glue them together BUT offset them by 5-10mm(depending on the rebate of the frame your using) gives you a nice recess for the backing board. Also gives incredible strength.

Can I ask where your located? I’m a picture framer and have used
A restorer by the name of Kenny Mackenzie. He’s located in
Central Scotland and is truly a genius. Granted it is fine art that he mostly deals with but I’m sure he could offer guidance.
Pm me if you want his phone number.

Thank you for that. Been swithering for a while and being fairly short and fairly light i imagined the Bfe would do what i wanted, trail riding mostly, and i could put the cash toward better forks.

Paving slabs are excellent. Also mono blocks side on and butted
    Against one another is ace.
I’d worry about slate but only because Its fairly easy to fracture and ruin the nice flat surface you want.

Hoofed it into a hidden tree stump com in down the crags in Dumbarton.
Flew clear over the bars and landed on my back.
Assumed the front wheel would be gubbed, turned out
The top tube was snapped and the down tube wasn’t any better.

I don’t suppose there’s very faint stress marks at the top of the fork legs?
That is exactly the same bike and kit and damage that happened to mine about 15 years ago. Sent it back to orange who lost it and they replaced it with a p7.
