I have been using wired headphones but it’s a bit of a faff with the cable trailing over the bike to the laptop.

Will have a look at those Outdoor Tech ones.

Don’t bother nobody will read it.

Write it in notepad and save it to your PC. Even more time-efficient is to not write it at all.

Just moved within Reigate in the last month, did fairly well on ours because someone wanted to escape London and paid London prices. Reigate still seems high though, good schools, proximity to London and ‘very little stock’ I was told by agents.

I like The Wretched and Local Hero is good, but tough. Like above, they usually do certain things, so depends on what you’re after…

    You’re belly-aching over 20 quid??

    You WOULDN’T belly-ache over 20 quid??

    I wouldn’t. I really wouldn’t.

Mate owes me £1k actually which I think he’s forgotten about. Note I am far from rich that happens to be a coincidence, I really wouldn’t bother starting a thread on a forum about what to do over a £20 debt though.

I did it last year. Signed up for the 2 day one but only made it to York :-(

It was well organised and signed. I found the pit-stops to be poor though. They were just crisps, flapjacks, bananas etc. That’s OK for a short sportive but 220 miles in a day I really needed one that had jacket potatoes or something savoury and filling.

Drop-out rate for ‘experts’ was quite high (despite what they say on the website).

I didn’t set off on the second day because I had real knee pain. The last 50 miles to York was tough, shooting pains in the back of the knee. This was all sorts of mistakes that I made – possibly seat slightly too high, possibly ITB issues. Took me a fair bit of physio to sort but anyway.

If you’re thinking of doing the 2 day one, make sure you get some decent mileage in before hand. It’s tough and not a lot of fun, but a great achievement.

The guys doing the 4 day one looked like they were having much more fun – finishing early, a few beers, time for food etc.!

SkillWill, have you completed that? Did you get much of a power gain from it?

Annoyingly I’ve had the last week off as got a dreadful chesty cough and couldn’t face cold sessions in my garage.

I completed week 5 so was a reasonable way through it and was a noticeable difference in how ‘easy’ the sessions were, didn’t get a chance to re-test FTP which was a shame but I can genuinely say I noticed a difference, I was clinging on to start with!

I’ve been doing this one and recommend it:

    All good sessions.

You know all those little problems where sometimes it doesn’t work correctly? Well you have to fix those. You have to be able to predict how long it’s going to take you too.

Like that a lot, very accurate.

I’ve been a software developer for over 10 years, started my own software company too and am now just going through some interviews to get back working for a large company again. Seems to be plenty of roles out there as far as I can see (finance work in London). Java or C#. Decent £££ too.

and how does it work if a visitor wants to play their own music etc

They just install the Sonos app on their phone and you allow them to connect to your Sonos system (one button on any device) and they can play all music on their device. Piece of piss.

I would dread going round to visit though. Bet they come out grinning every time “So… let’s give you the tour” and then you have to shlep round admiring every f*cking hinge.

“So… let me give you the tour…”
“No that’s OK, I get it, upstairs has bedrooms and stuff… standard”
“OK get the f*ck out of my house”

Yeah looks excellent. I have two Play 3s, one in the bedroom which is a bit of a waste, going to get a play1 to have in the bedroom and have the 3 downstairs in the lounge. Sell the bridge on eBay to discount the cost nicely.

How come the individual time trial is nationality, the team time trial is by ‘team’ (Sky / OPQS etc.) and the road race is nationality?

Why not do a national team time trial?

I have both and tend to just use rollers as less faff. I did upgrade the drum to be one with progressive resistance. Also use Trainerroad and sufferfest vids.

Edit: and fan and sweatband thing.

Our vet always insists our lab has Advocate since it deals with another type of worm that can wipe a dog out. All I know is it’s really expensive and I need to get it from the vets :-(

    Interesting reading:

    Electrolyte Tablets

I have used electrolyte tablets a lot in the past. SIS also use sorbitol / artificial sweeteners by the way, same as High 5.

The best martial arts one I ever saw was that dude being goaded in his council house by some massive ****. Stayed in the doorway and remained calm under intense provocation, then knocked him out.

I see that, but I also think that this is what racing is for. Strava and sportives are racing without the emotional investment, racing for people who don’t want to put their ego on the line, racing in private so you can take your ball home when you lose.

    Get a licence, get racing.
You’ll get a lot more out of it than comparing virtual times on a screen.

    Very well put.

Thanks cranberry, tried those things. Turns out they haven’t made the app available for this particular type of TV. Only 700 and 800 ranges apparently :-(

Think I’ll get one of those Google Chromecasts in a month and send stuff to TV from a tablet.

    Old thread resurrection…

Have the same problem as OP. Have done a firmware update but still don’t see a Netflix app. Samsung UE40D5500. I can get the app to appear if I change my location to US (although it doesn’t work), but then all other apps are US-centric.

Wondered if anyone managed to get it working?

    Sorry Woppit you’re not odd, you’re not. You’re not. Maybe a little ‘ironic’/’sarcastic’, that’s what I meant.

The best bit in that vid ^ is when the dog gets loose, rapidly chased by its owner (at ~6:20) and you didn’t even comment on it.

Edit – also you’re quite odd.

Yes I’ve visited a few houses in Canada that have it, seemed a very sensible system to me.

The woman we’re buying from is a smoker so part of me has a ‘gross’ feeling towards the system :-(

Is it a necessary firmware upgrade? i.e. I have Di2 but haven’t had any real problems…
