I just got a Samsung UN65D8000XF LED and the picture is insane, though i’m not convinced that the blacks are as consistant as our 40″ LCD Samsung in the bedroom… That may be the screen size as opposed to the backlight though…

    Trek Madone 5.9.

At my height I had 7, but am constantly struggling with the notion of upping the number again… Problem is I miss the bikes I have sold in the past, and if I could get them back in the exact condition they were in when I sold them I would…

    … And I would love a carbon 29er…

    … And I’m saving for a mx bike 😳

Good choice! I have a Pedros one and it’s a total p.o.s and I plan to replace it with a feedback 🙂

I’m coming up on my first anniversary of moving to the U.S and it has been tough at times, but i’m fortunate that i didn’t make the move alone… Miss my friends and family a lot though…

A friend of mine’s OH went to the train station. The sign said “front two coaches”, so she went and stood outside and waited two hours for a bus… It never came of course… 😯

I changed my 575 from q/r to 10mm RWS and it was much better in the stiffness department. I wouldn’t ever go back to standard quick-release on anything but a road bike now…

I’m desperate for one, but just can’t justify another bike in the garage, and couldn’t bare to get rid of any of the current ones 🙁
    1×10, enve wheels, niner forks… Oh yes… 🙄

No. Some people have successfully fitted the “hybrid type” XT HTIIs (the ones with 48t big ring) to 83mm frames but with a fair amount of filing…

For £112.32 they could just tattoo “Yob” on the foreheads of every looter… Or “t*sser”

Bars, stem, seatpost and cassette will be the cheapest things to lose weight on. The largest drop in weight you could make would be on wheels, but that’s also one of the most expensive.

Yip, I currently have two pairs of 240s and a pair of 440s and have had others in the past. I go out of my way to avoid using anything else these days… Never a single problem 🙂

Sorry, I can’t be bothered in reading every single post…
But, there are two types of people who ride bicycles on the road…

    A) Cyclists – People who have some idea of safe riding. They have bikes which are in roadworthy condition, they know where to look, they know how and where to position their bike. Some ride like assholes, but they generally can take care of themselves…

    B) Bike owners – These are people who have a bike, so point it in the direction of their destination and start mashing “those angled bits you put your feet on” until they get there. They have no interest in the finer art of bike control or looking after their bike. They often have no helmet, no proper clothing and certainly have no concept of concentrating on their surroundings… Rolling liabilities! I have seen these people ride through red lights without even looking to see if there is anything coming, people riding on flat tyres, forks fitted backwards, bikes with no brakes, over-extended stems and/or seatposts (usually because it’s a kids bike). Morons.
I even saw a guy (wearing black from head to toe) riding in the dark at winter no lights, helmet etc riding with both hands in his jeans pockets (presumably because his bare hands were cold) whilst listening to his ipod or whatever… Total fuc*tard!
The number of times i’ve heard people say “No, brake blocks are too expensive, I won’t bother”
The whole problem with group B is compounded with Cycle To Work Scheme as many are buying bikes only because they are cheap (or atleast they think they will be)…
I have worked in bike shops for 11 years (but not any more), and I can safely say that aforementioned group B need a slap across the back of the head. Should have been wearing a helmet… 🙄

Can’t beat the park ones IMO… Got mine on American eBay for much cheapiness, though through axle adapters and adjustable base were extra costs… $260 all in if I recall 🙂

Those Top Fuels are mega! Had the pleasure of demoing a 9.9ssl when they first came out and loved it! Superb on the downhills and even pretty chuckable on the jumps at the Spooky Woods… Looks good mate.

When a Porsche driver comes up to you in the petrol station and asks what size of engine you’ve put inside your Punto… Definitely a sign of ragging… 🙄

I used to run 160mm Lyriks on my 575 and it was superb! No problems whatsoever… It’s maybe worth a browse at Yeti Fan[/url] to see what other people use. Go to the “your yeti” part on the left side…

I had a look at the g-shock range a while ago and didn’t really like any of them, but I did get one of the “pathfinder” range which I really like. It’s slightly less robust than gshocks, but is still waterproof etc and has compass, thermometer and altimeter features. It’s solar too… Peach!

I use a zip up case for a car stereo face-off thingy in my back pocket with my phone, iPod, pump, spare tube, tyre levers, and a couple of squids… It’s reassuring to know nothing will ever go walkabout 🙂

Not a V60, but I have had the pleasure of using my mother-in-law’s new XC60 the last few days and it is a fabulous car! Cabin quality is superb, very comfortable, and this particular T6 is really really fast! Also drove a S30 recently with a T5 and it was great to drive too!
My dad is Saab through and through, and is on his third consecutive 9-3. The Saabs are very nice places to be, but I prefer the volvos now I think… Must be getting old! :?.

what ever you get, make sure you strip it and grease the hell out of it with some decent before first use… Most factory jobs skimp a little… Most reliable headset i’ve ever had was a M:part cartridge jobby which was about £25 eight years ago. It has been on my commuter which lives outside, and is still good as new. About the only thing on it that’s still good! I’ve had Kings, Hopes, RaceFaces and CC110s all fall to bits (literally) but these days I just resign myself to the fact that things like headsets just last much better if they are looked after…

I love mine! VPP bikes take a little squeezing as the lower link interferes with the block that secures the chainstays, but fits just the same… Plenty of compartments, and the wheels going in separately is a nice touch. Easy to haul around when you have other luggage, and stores reasonably compactly… Highly recommended!

I had TF Push my DHX5 on my 224 and it feels fantastic! Much more supple, which is especially noticeable on rooted corners etc. The traction is much better.

    morzine + SPD + crash =

if you are going to ride SPDs in the alps get multi release SH55 cleats, ideally you want the SPD/cleat interface to give before your tibia…
A friend of mine got the exact same injury from 5:10 shoes on flats in Morzine… It’s your luck really.

My advice to a starter would be spds whilst you don’t know any better… I had spds on my first bike, and it feels totally natural. I can still use flats when the fancy takes me, but I have never (not once) been stuck to my bike unable to un-clip. (FWIW that’s XC, DH, commute, and road)

My Cannondale Taurine when it was only one-geared… As is, it was 19lbs. How there are steel bikes on here that are much lighter is beyond me. Unfortunately I don’t have this any more as I had to trim the fleet down a little… Gutted! 🙁 One day I may get another one as similar to this as I can.

My wife passed her concealed carry test on Saturday, so she’s packing a Smith&Wesson M&P .45… Nice gun! Haven’t had a play with it yet though. My father-in-law just acquired a Barrett M82 .50 cal rifle which I am super excited about! I like guns B)

PS. I live in Kansas. Here there are no restrictions as long as the rounds aren’t explosive…

Yip, same here! I have them on three different bikes and it happens on all but one. I’m sure there must be a technical reason… Harmonics? DTs are nothing like as bad as Chris Kings for it though!
