Yip. I have a Ford F150 as my only vehicle and it’s great! You’d be surprised how often you use the load space when it’s there. Having the confidence to drive pretty much anywhere is great, though decent all-terrain tyres are expensive and only last 30-40,000 miles.

Have an opinion on interior decoration… I’ve tried to give a rat’s ass, but I just can’t do it, and if I bluff I get caught out every time…

Just realised the picture didn’t link….
Anyway, the B&W skylight filter was trashed, but my lens was perfect. As mentioned by others the ring took the brunt. This was a 3′ fall from a kitchen counter onto tile. Lens first but in a case… 😯

I really dig it, despite not being a big fan of the looks…
Only bug i’ve found so far is that the music controls don’t work when the screen is locked… 🙄

PS. Sent using my phone as a personal hotspot to see if it works…

I’ve always been a Shimano guy. I covet the high-end Campag stuff, but have never liked an Italian frame enough to buy one, and as previously mentioned, hanging Campagnolo from anything that int Italian is a huge faux pas!

    “Over here a 1.6l Fiesta with a manual is rated at 31mpg (37UK). A Prius only gets 48 (57UK)”

Do these figures account for a US gallon being ~3.8 litres and a UK gallon being 4.54 litres?

Yip.. The numbers in brackets are converted to UK mpg…

I see a couple of people have commented on countries with cheaper fuel (such as here in the USA), and how we all drive big V8s. True, most people do have big engines, however, even “fuel efficient” cars here have crap fuel consumption!
Over here a 1.6l Fiesta with a manual is rated at 31mpg (37UK). A Prius only gets 48 (57UK). The deck is seriously stacked here to keep the populous hooked on spending on fuel. Plus, the average motorist here in the midwest drives over 20,000 miles a year vs half that in the UK. We have zero public transport as an alternative too!

My biggest problem is not remembering folks’ names! I could be introduced to someone, told their name, three seconds later it’s gone… Permanently… i feel like a total dick because of it too, which in turn makes me even more anxious and makes me even more likely to forget! Sometimes I can’t even remember if I’ve met someone before… Before you ask if it’s drink related, it’s not. It happens every single day, and is especially bad on the phone! “Hi, is so-and-so there?” “Yes, can I ask who’s calling?” “Yeah, it’s (whatever)” “Dude, it’s the phone for you.” “Who is it?” “Dunno 😳 ”

Blur LTc. Not really fussed about the wheel-size debate… This is the best bike I’ve ever had, and that’s all I have to say about that…

There is a noticeable difference in ride quality between say 27.2mm and 30.9mm. I find the narrower ones have an off-putting amount of spring to them. I know someone who found the ride of his recent Santa Cruz Chameleon too harsh, so shimmed down to a 27.2mm (hence the comparison).
There are so many other factors in the mix, that it’s rarely as black and white as that though… Ride them both.

If i were you, I’d consider a powered sub. I have a Sound Ordnance b-8pt, and whilst it’s not earth-shattering, it’s plenty to fill out the sound and will still shake the mirrors a little. If I really had to, it would be easily removed also…

My dad is a 5th gen farmer and has bust his ass to keep the farm going since he dropped out of college to take over when his dad died. Makes a living, but i’d hate to figure out the hourly rate! The business does pay for the roof over his head, so that ofcourse helps…
On the other hand, I know a farmer who recently bought a brand new Beech King Air…. I guess that’s the difference between having 90 cows and having over 36,000 😯

Turns out the house my wife and I bought has a meth-dealer living next door… The man of the house has been arrested for his crimes, but the house still seems like trouble. We are friends with the neighbor on the other side of them and have discussed burning the place down and splitting the empty lot between us so we can both have bigger gardens… Hypothetically 🙄

I follow Lance on Facebook, and he can’t even post “lovely weather today” without people bombarding him with abuse and obscenities.
I’m not for a moment condoning his awful behavior, but people need to let go…

On average between £4or£5k per year from 2001 till 2010. That’s with trade discount most of the time…
In the last three years since getting married I have totalled less than £500! Though something new and carbon may be on the horizon 🙄

My 2008 Madone 5 series pro. Bought it as a frameset and built with full DA 7800, Bontrager RXL wheels (the last ones made with DT 240 hubs), XXXL bars and stem. It has a Selle Italia SLC saddle in the pic, but now has a Fizik Aliante carbon saddle which fits me much better. Also, now I have tubeless Hutchison tyres and no headset spacers…
    Love this bike!

My wife wants to trade her 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee as hers is getting “old”… We’re not what you would call “wealthy”, it’s just priorities… We will take a hit from depreciation, so payments will continue more-or-less the same. I imagine she’ll want to change this one too in 2016 ad infinitum… My daily driver is 14 years old and I’m fine with that. I used to change my perfectly good DH bike and race gear every race season, so who am I to judge.

i grew a tasche once, i looked like a french:

The stripey top didn’t really help matters though 😉

I’ve accidentally ended up with a full-on Grizzly Adams tash/beard setup purely out of laziness, however I want to get rid but now I have such a good suntan that I can’t risk the pale scotsman hiding underneath the good old flavour-saver 🙁

My sister used to have an excellent Magnum PI tash until my mum decided she was finally old enough learn how to bleach that bad boy lol!

With my MKIIs I removed the cap and axle nut and everything came out with the axle… Not supposed to happen that way, but it sure made everything easy! So long as you take them apart over a clean flat surface and don’t rush you’ll be fine… They are crazy simple…

It’s a titanium pathfinder, and is solar, has thermometer, compass, altimeter etc, and I think is good enough looking to pass as a dress watch if need be 🙂

I simply cannot believe nobody tried to “rush” the guys. I’m not saying that I would have done it, but it has happened before where civilians risk their lives in horrible situations. I’m reminded of John Smeaton who fought the attempted bombers at Glasgow airport several years ago for example.

I’m assuming you properly de-stressed the spokes whilst truing? If the spokes are wound-up at all the tyre pressure can throw it all out of whack…

I have a 42mm Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronometer and love it to bits!
It was a 30th birthday present to myself… If I remember correctly it was “only” £2400, and i’m sure the battery operated equivalent was only £1800. So far as extravagant purchases go, I’ve done worse. I plan to have this for the rest of my life 🙂

I have a carbon Santa Cruz and a USA made Madone, and whilst I am sure that carbon Yetis or Specialized or Giants are perfectly well put together and would do everything I could ask of them and have years of flawless service and enjoyment, I will not switch brands as I put an awful lot of stock into the willingness of manufacturers to show exactly what they do and why, and constantly refine their design in the names of advancement and development. It doesn’t take a lot of browsing to see exactly how much thought goes into every aspect of these frames (and destruction testing), and that’s good enough for me 🙂
