I woud like something like this too, but i am moving to the US this year. Do you think there be maps available for over there too?

Shimano, no competition. I went through a ton of sram X0 and X9 stuff over the last few years, and the move back to XTR has been great. M970 is superb.

Sometimes your mind just plays tricks on you with weights… I used to have a 19lb hardtail, and i swear it always seemed lighter than my 16lb road bike… The bike looks great though! Changing the brakes is a good move to save weight, and i would ditch the x9 too (but not for weight reasons).

I know this is a massively varied situation but again look at the durability of say a landrover wheel bearing, millions of rotations in all kinds of sh¥t muck water and salty british roads, last for years. And then not expensive to replace, ( pain in the arse to change granted) so it just goes back TJ's point of why do we put up with it?

Good luck jamming a pair of those big (heavy) bastards into your bb shell!

It must make otherwise stif cranks seem flexy imo. Plus, 30t? Too low surely?

On a side note, they should totally make a similar grease injection tool for king headsets!

Hate to hijack the post, but i have one too (which i love) and have the tool for greasing it up… Anyway, what grease are you guys using with it? I was tempted to use the same marine grease that came with my santa cruz for the vpp grease ports, but thought that may be too thick for a bottom bracket…

How did you get round the headset issue with the mantra? I thought they were all made to take a 1 5/16" stems and tapered steerers?

Could be twisted lowers maybe? The best thing to do to check this is remove the lowers and re-fit them one leg at a time to see if either leg is tighter than the other, then refit them back to front (arch at the back) and compress a few times. If one leg is tight, it's the bushes, if they feel fine individually but rotten back to front, then the lowers are twisted. That's the advice i got from TF anyway a couple of years ago for my coil u-turns, and resulted in bushing re-sizing and subsequently the best feeling pair of single-crown forks i've ever had!

I used to run crossmarks front and rear and loved them! I ran them tubeless at pretty low pressures, but they were fantastic! I was especially surprised how well they gripped roots. I ran the front one backwards (tread in the opposite direction to the rear) for more braking grip… Go for it! 8)

Cannondale's head-office for europe are in the netherlands, but their warranty department is in switzerland. If they are prepared to take your dealer's word for it they should have you sorted out in no time, if they request to see the swingarm it may take some more time… Good luck!

Downhill bike, trail/good bike, singlespeed, road bike, pub/commute bike. I think that's fair!

The crown is offset, so no, you can't…

Although, the biggest you will be able to get on a LX is 48t. That's maybe more sensible 8)

I stuck a 53t on the front of my commuter with 1×9 as an experiment, and it's excellent! I've never not made it up a hill, and there are some stinkers in Glasgow! Do you have 700c wheels or 26"?

It looks like a really nice build! I agree with others about the saint stuff being overkill… You shouldn't need a 10mm kit though, as the ex1750 come with a 10mm rws system as standard…

Travel is reduced so it doesn't hit crown/steerer

That's what Cannondale do for 29er leftys, but i still don't fancy a filed down arch… I have a 700×23 on a pair of SIDs on my commute bike, and there's enough room for a full-length mudguard, but it's a bit sketch off-road! 🙄

There's a picture floating around somewhere of me and some mates riding down the Pleney in Morzine naked… I shall spare you the terror and not bother looking for it! 😯

I should elaborate… What's the first thing his tyre is going to hit when he bottoms out the fork? Yes, the bottom of the steerer tube… Goodnight Irene!

One other option is to have a tub inside a clincher tyre, they weigh a fair bit combined, but are pretty much puncture proof. Friend of mine does this.

    Erm, can anyone say overkill?

Firstly, Meta 5? Come on! What a bag of spanners!
Anyway, the 575 is MUCH nicer than the Hemlock! Shame about the Pace forks… Can you swap forks with him? 🙄

I have a Blur LTc and love it! I came from a yeti 575 and at first the blur took a bit of getting used to, as it wasn't as planted as the yeti was, but now i have worked out setup and how to get the best from the suspension, i wouldn't go back… It climbs like a stabbed rat, and you can really throw it around. I know the aluminium one would feel similar, but the carbon is stiffer, lighter and looks far nicer! I like the nomad, but it's a different animal, as posted here already. It will be interesting to see if the rumors of a carbon nomad are true! The mojo is a good looking bike also, and is a little lighter, but even with the Lopes link, has more flex. It transpires since Jungle stopped importing them that they had a 40% return rate with warranties, which just puts me right off. 2pure who import them now are easy to deal with though in that event. I would (and did) go with the LTc and never look back 🙂

I have threadlocked two nuts against each other at the end of the bolt and pressed a schraeder valve cap on over them. The tugs can be adjusted no problem like this. I've done it on some customers' bikes too and have had no issues…

Over a year on my dh bike. They were super expensive to begin with, but the way everyone elses prices have gone, they're not too ridiculous… They're awesome!

It's an old shimano unit and i'm looking at fitting Truvativ isoflow arms – £15 from CRC, so probably all Jap.

That will be spot on… And for the record JIS and ISO are not truly interchangeable. The JIS taper is longer, so you can fit (bodge) ISO cranks on a JIS taper (but they wil never fit a ISO bb again), but if you fit a JIS crank on a ISO taper they will work lose very quickly. Best sticking with the correct type every time.

About 3700 miles… That's way too far for my liking! Infact, i don't think i've seen any bikes for a whole week now! I'm beginning to get withdrawl 😐

The slx double is superb, as the cage is deeper, so the chain is less likely to come off.

I have both, and although the PS3 seems the sensible choice, it's the xbox i always use.
