Thanks guys, I think AXS takes the win then! My seatpost is due by the end of next week from JensonUSA. I’ll report when it shows then I’ll get the rest ordered… That gives me time to decide between XX1 and XO1. I’m not a kit breaker, so I’m leaning towards the rainbow stuff B)

I have a rigid Stache 5 and love it! The spec has improved vastly since it came home, but it’s a peach, and imo one of the best looking bikes ever made!

Rebuild underway already at work this week… I’m very happy with the decision!

Slight segway to the topic, I just built up some 471s yesterday. They seem really nice, but my main takeaway was that the squorx nipples and washer arrangement (though a little footery) is spectacular! I’ve always been a fan of driving nipples from the inside of the rim when building wheels, and these are the nicest type I’ve used… The steel washers with a drop of grease help eveything wind up beautifully!

There’s a line from Dale in the pilot episode of “King of the hill” where he says, “Bring on global warming, we’ll grow oranges in Alaska!”. I watched that last night and thought, “who does that sound like?”.

    I’m hardly surprised any more…

I like my Thule “insta-gater”. It’s not fancy, it’s not expensive, but holds the bike good and doesn’t let anything get beat up… The security aspect is lacking though.

    Enve wheels…
Honestly, drunk shopping is probably what keeps the carbon wheelset industry going, as the prices are ludicrous! I’m amazed how many are out there! They are ace though 😆

The Early Rider stuff is fantastic! My kid started out on their Spherovelo model and is now bopping around on a 12” Trail Runner. It’s nice and light, and is properly made with cartridge bearings and Allen bolts all round…

I really really miss my old Santa Cruz Chameleon… 2002 I think. Those were the days… 🙄

I use Jenson for most things. Their service is excellent!

Ordered myself one of these, though I haven’t decided if I’m brave enough to wear it in public… I’m in a very red state!

I’d have a matching Project One Madone and Domane, Enve wheels for my Stache, Yeti 4.5, V10, Marino trials bike, and the rest of the bikes would have engines…

I can’t believe this slow motion car crash… My wife and I worked hard for me to move out here, and now this total scrotum has lied, scaremongered and conned his way to the top, with no comprehension of the consequences… Shit is taking a turn South 😥

As a challenge Ninfan/Jamby etc write down the 4 reasons you think Trump should be president without using the words Hillary or Clinton

True that… It’s no love lost, as I’m not sure I want to be associated with anyone who thinks that ignoramus could be a good president…

Here in the Midwest there is a strong trend of “Hillary hating”. I can’t even stand in line at the grocery store without overhearing “300,000 emails”, “Benghazi”, or simply “that bitch”. It’s utterly infuriating! I swear the majority of people voting for Trump just want to keep her out…. Democracy isn’t worth a damn if everyone gets suckered into believing lies and accusations by the opposition. 😡

With any luck, Clinton will get in and we’ll trudge through the next four years till someone better comes along… Trump on the other hand hopefully gets caught up by all the lawsuits, and loses everything… Thats what I’m hoping for. There does seem to be a terrifying rift in the country right now, and i’ve fallen out with friends over it already. Next week is going to be tough 😯

I feel utter despair for the world these days… The hatred we are reminded of on a daily basis is heartbreaking, and there’s no light at the end of the tunnel that I can see!

You can switch drivetrains over to the other side on track bikes just fine. Pedal axles need switched so your clipless pedals point the right way. Technically it’s pretty hard on your hub lockring, but I did it once for a bike messenger just for a laugh, and he ran it that way for years with no problems…

Wow, lots of Yacht people! A childhood friend of mine is crew on Roman Ibramovic’s yacht. He loves it! Goes all over the world, and half the time the boss never even turns up. They do have to meet a pretty tight (sometimes unrealistic) schedule, and there’s not as much screwing off as you often hear about on yachts… Sounds like fun though!

Travis Barker (Blink-182) and Joey from Slipknot can really knock out a beat! The drums are the main reason I listen to either band…

At the opposite end of the spectrum, when Ford first introduced their adaptive cruise system in the new F150, the system would slam on the anchors when met with dark shadows under overpasses on bright days… Caused quite a few wrecks there too! We are on our 4th car that has adaptive cruise (2nd with lane-keeping assist steering) and whilst it does work well, it makes me pretty uncomfortable, and I would never pay any less attention and use it as a crutch! My mother-in-law has fallen asleep at the wheel of her Mercedes ML and the system kept her on the road an woke her up 😯

It is far too easy to buy guns in the U.S. When I became a “conditional permanent resident” I got my concealed carry permit, and as such under Kansas law, don’t need to wait for a background check for firearms. I still need to fill out a decent amount of paperwork, but that’s it… Let’s just say I have “a few” different guns now, but it makes me sick every time I hear some dumbass shouting about their second amendment rights, or the NRA opposing gun control etc. I personally wouldn’t give a rat’s ass if you had to wait twelve months to buy a gun, or if there was 100% tax. I’m a responsible, law-abiding owner, and for the same reason some people shouldn’t be allowed to drive, some people shouldn’t be allowed guns…

Wait, did I go off topic there? 😯

The week I passed my driving test I did that in my dad’s Saab 9000. Blew the front shocks, cracked the front wheels, broke the engine mounts, triggered the seatbelt pre-tensioners and bent the sub-frame. When we got out, the doors wouldn’t close again… Man, I was chewed out for that one! It took a couple of months, but the insurance fixed the car instead of writing it off. A friend saw the whole thing and said I got four feet. What a dumbass… Just lucky I never hurt anyone! 😳

Fortunately each episode is better than the last… Still not a big fan of Chris Evans, but to be honest Jeremy Clarkson was getting a little tedious over the last few seasons anyway, so no worse off there. I do miss James May though!

I run Point One Podium pedals and love them to bits! I suppose they’re sold as Gamuts now. I also have an old pair of MX30 Shimanos that are well over a decade old and are technically fine, but looking tatty. I may replace the Shimanos with another pair of podiums, or I’m half tempted to try the Raceface Atlas guys…

The route goes past my house every year! I sometimes walk out to the end of my road to watch them go by. Traffic is atrocious when they’re coming through though… Drivers in the Midwest aren’t really used to seeing many cyclists… 🙄

My wife swears she has witnessed ghosts. She is “sensitive” to stuff like that. She claims to “feel” if something bad has happened in a place, and every time we look into it she’s right. Has happened too many times now for me to completely dismiss it, though I would call myself a skeptic to the core…

Cheer up, my GMC suburban 2500 managed to outdo itself the other day by returning 9.74 miles per (US) gallon.
    POSTED 7 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

I’ll see you, and raise you. My F100 got 6mpg(us) average on its last tank! Mind you, my wife has one of those fancy ’16 Denali XLs and it regularly gets 23ish which we’re ecstatic about… 8)

My next fancy watch will likely be one of these…

Thanks guys. Yeah, I live in Kansas which is super flat, but does have more than its fair share of wind. I don’t race, but there are endless straights, so almost all of the time you’re on the drops in top gear. A lot of guys out here just have tt bikes, but I love my Madone, and want to be able to go to the Rockies every once in a while. The 4.5s probably seem like the sensible way to go, especially seeing as they have the new improved braking surface…
