why though?

They’re sight seeing, they arrive by coach, get their photo taken, buy a few crappy souveniers and they’re off to the next tourist trap, usually the leaning tower of Piza.

They’re not strictly ‘new’ are they, they are worrying (or enticingly if you are a japanese businessman) described as ‘used’.

You could also go for afternoon tea or cocktails at the Lanesbourough Hotel.
I’m barred from there.

You could just change your login and waltz back in again, surely? 🙂

Don’t forget they failed to surrender after the first one.

That was because of a misunderstanding as to what surrender would entail. The US meant surrender as in stop fighting, Japan took surrender to mean completely give up being Japan.

Must be the way I write.

I doubt its less to do with the way you write more the fact that you write at all. Not many people do that anymore.

My local tesco had a note up regarding a bit of a dispute with suppliers in relation to some spreads, which might be why some stuff isn’t on the shelves at present.

I very much doubt that the dispute as anything at all to do with Tesco funding its expansion from by paying all its bills late.

Looks an ok rate, but a rate for what? A micra or a mondeo?, check what extras you’re going to be presented with when you pick up though – brutal excesses to blackmail you into taking out pricy damage waivers, mean daily mileage and excess milage charges, funny games with fuel etc, all carefully excluded from the price you’re quoted.

On a quote of £70 you could in fact be spending around £100 on the day you get the keys

mine’s just arrived today too, even though I wasn’t expecting it til next month.

I also just found out I shouldn’t be expecting to get a day off before Christmas now, so the likelyhood of it actually getting read before then is pretty slim.

Are well all missing the fact that the truck was moving. She didn’t ride into the back of a stationary truck, she was hit by the rear portion of a truck that was turning.

Blimey woody, you must have only just missed the cut. I subscribed on the 17th too, however I’ve been told I’ll get issue 1, but not until early october.

Maybe theres a second print run or something if mines going to take that long to arrive, so give them a bell.

I use them to extract a confession

All recent PM’s have set their own salary, and for politcal/vote touting reasons they deliberately set their salary well below the market rate. If they allowed their salary to be set by the review body it would be close to double what the current PM is paid. However any PM, let alone a young one,is fully aware that a) they’ll never have to put their hand in their pocket while they are in office and b) being a former PM is massively more lucrative than being they current one. Their future finances are not something they have to worry about. That makes it an utterly meanlingless bench mark to compare any other public sector salary to, i’d even go further and say its a deliberately deceptive benchmark to use.

It works though, 3 pages of internet banter hours before the show has even aired. Its the model of contemporary current affairs programming – encourage the audience (even the people who probably won’t watch) to form and voice their opinions first, then possibly learn some facts later.

I’ve sent people trees by post as presents in the past.

I’ve also mail ordered fancy potatoes from these people. Although check with them if they have any outlets close to you, spuds are a bit expensive to post.

will they deal with ‘wet’ things like squashed grapes, banana and other moist foody bits?

What you require, sir, is a dog. Get a good one and the moist foody bits will never reach the ground.

No, people using the 'wrong' sized envelopes. e.g. ones which look A5 but aren't

Perhaps your employer would be better off issuing staff with the right sized envelopes to start with.

The word "meme" literally makes me punch myself in the face repeatedly it's so annoying.

The same thing happens to me. I think in my case though its because the elastic that stops me loosing my mittens is too short, 'cos it happens when I try to hail a cab too.

Youll be pleased to know that making a claim isnt as easy as you are lead to belive

Perhaps the legal professionals here might advise otherwise… But is there any reason not to complain to the company rather than immediately claim. A complaint might be sufficient in achieving the goal of gaining whatever compensation you require. At this moment the company will probably be totally unaware of the accident, I doubt the driver has raised it with them. But just because their driver is an arsehole doesn't mean the employers won't be falling over themselves to put things right.

Surely theres only a need to claim if the employer disputes their liability or / fails to put things right, and they might not.

Plan to do Mt Ventoux at some stage. Heard that's tough.

Its big but its not severe. Its one consistant gradient all the way up (apart from a brutal kick up at the end) so once you are in a rhythm you just chug up it. The wind or the heat can be what makes is a challange. I'd say lakeland roads or the roads around hebden are much, much tougher, but they are tough for a shorter climb.

That said, its a ride you will never, ever forget

"I wasn't sick at all with Steve, but I was sick all the time with my second".

under the impression that I'm an only child.

I'd take from that first sentence that are an only child, the conversation was about pregnancy and morning sickness. She's talking about a second pregnancy, not a second birth. You'd have been young at the time and probably pretty oblivious and your mum could have been experiencing morning sickness before she was visibly pregnant and could have miscarried before then too. If you we're only 2 or 3 years old she could have been quite obviously pregnant and you'd be non the wiser.

I doubt its been hidden from you, its not a secret, it just hasn't been a topical subject for discussion until there was a conversation about Morning Sickness.
