:owaiting for delivery of 2010 36RC2 fox vans for 580 squid delivered,
does that count ?
skiboyFree Memberchain hasn't been adjusted for a while agreed, but what's too slack ?
it has never come off as my testies and chin are intact, but have it too tight and i will have to get another freewheel body, it seems to run nicely how it is, just needed a lizard to stop it sawing through the stay 😮
skiboyFree Memberbeen riding mine since mid summer last year,
ss version, 74 miles a week commute, added carbon post and bars for comfort, changed tires for armadillo's, kmc tin chain so i don't have to adjust it too much and a lovely middleburn R7 and uno chainset with skf BB,
very quick, bit jarry, 700 quid new, i drop it down curbs and its fine,
ss is so perfect for work as i dont have to worry about a thing, no cable stretch, no ghosting etc,,and its made my xc stamina go mental, plus developed my upper body strengh and my man boobs have gone 😯my mate at work also rides a BadBoy but he has a ultra with a carbon lefty and gears, he swears by them too for work runs.
skiboyFree Membercoolio bakes,
what do you with that degree ?,
i used to be in fag machines until it became unhealthy, then went motorpsort and last 13yrs nuke and physics for people like sellafield bnfl and awe. i gotta say it's very interesting but a bit secret squirrel etc.
skiboyFree Membermy favorite blackadder line that one…
engineer,ex-apprentice,
cnc machinist vmc/lathe , on/off line programmer, cam programmer alphacam, solidworks cad draftsman, all round fully skilled machinist
etc etc, man and boy etc etc, 25 years at it now, been the boss here for last 4yrs i think ???,blah blah, not bragging just thought you were asking bakes,
any more enginears ere ???? 🙄
skiboyFree Memberoh and yes it's a definate cos i can project, if i had the time i would build a whole bike and a new brick shed and put that fence back up on the left side of the garden, 😀
skiboyFree Memberyep, total redesign underway, bit busy at the minute and on holiday next week, so haven't really got the time to sit down and sort the new draft just yet,
Here's the result anyway, looks a bit sh1t imo, loads of changes to make and yes its way to thick, could have reduced the webbing to 1mm but the machining times went through the roof,
starting with a 10mm disc from on next one instead of 16mm so that will shave off a good 25% plus of the weight, lighting pockets and webs on both sides as well, have a good idea of where to go and brought enough grade 2 Ti to make another 2 bash rings and a full set of chain rings which i thought i might have a stab at later, wil make dummys out of alloy though !!!,
Ti only cost me £150 !!! must be bloody mad 😯skiboyFree Membermy soul after last week in brickhill.
cant wait to get my mits on my blue Bfe when it ships in mid march ,
skiboyFree Memberthis is weird !!! i was about to post the same subject!!!
i always get this problem too, i have several helmets and neither seems
to cure it so it can't be them, i do wear a bandana under my helmet could it be this??? it's always rolled into a sort of sweatband tho'i drink high5 carb iso mix with electrolytes so it can't be dehydration, umless i too am making it to weak ? 1.5 scoops per 750ml, usually carry around 3 litres and 'do' the lot ?
i have a slight headache now behind the eyes, always feels to me like trying to negotiate all those trees, roots and drops rattles them around and my brain ends up hurting !!!
skiboyFree Memberyep got off real light,
i spent £150 on 2- 180mm x 18mm grade 2 Ti billets yesterday and my misses never said a word, proof that if you let her have what she wants
you can get away with murder, she's even excited about the impending arrival of my blue bfe !! 😛skiboyFree MemberSolidworks piccys and Ti ring next to original placcy one,
Plastic weighs 158g , replacement Ti weighs 342g !!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, oh well, will post more piccys when finished the cnc milling stratergy..not that anyone is interested…..
skiboyFree Memberi intend on keeping the soul, the bfe was supossed to be a low budget hack bike for the woods, but as a thompson stem was the first part i brought it sort of set the bar a bit high.. 😉
happened with the soul too, low budget, brought an xtr chainset and floating hope m2's and it sort of went pear shaped from there !!!!
Note:
take budget and chuck out windowskiboyFree Memberright thats it, i gunna buy them, my mate had Talas 36's and even though i thought they looked and rode amazing, i just cant be doing with all that pump and stuff,
i said i wouldn't spend too much on this build but never mind eh…yummy yummy 36mm yummy yummy..
only thing is i missed the 20% off @stif last weekend, so a bit of loitering around for a repeat on the price me thinks..
thanks for the advice gents
skiboyFree Member:?but do you think it will be too much going up ?, i do like my climbs ?
i have a soul with 130mm 32 van's on it and i sometimes bounce around on that !,
only thing is my heart wants the 36 vans so bad for the bfe,,i dont mind a bit of nodding but if its all over the place i may get upset !!!
skiboyFree Membermy mate matt's best friend's name was 'richard rimmer', and i once new a cute girl called 'victoria plum'.
skiboyFree Memberive done my usual commute all week including sat on my old giant nsr2 with the fr and r tyres as low as possible, using milton keynes redways systems, they have been compacted by feet and the odd bikes but in 70 miles i never lost it once and the last 4 rides (28 miles) never put a foot down,
now im not saying its correct but runniing them almost flat worked for me, we had approx 5-6 inches of snow and i havn't seen any melt yet, actually looking forward to more, i spent 12+ hrs in it last week to and from work abd found it quite similar to woburn/brickhill on a soggy day lolskiboyFree Member1111,
didn't have a chance to say earlier in the week but i get the same problem some times,
I find it very difficult to find a pair of specs that don't cause this problem, my head ive been told is normal (i am married with two kids, so it cant be too freakish!!!)I usually find that a slightly heavy, ill fitting pair of sunnys or safety specs (engineer)brings this on to levels i cannot describe,
it feels like i have two raised 'lumps on the back of my head' this brings on major nausea and cramps in the back of me bonce, sometimes a rage like feeling too!!!i cured it by finding glasses and sunnys that were the right fit, i think some didnt fit my nose properly, some wouldn't work with a helmet on, others were painted and slid down my nose, dug in around my ears, the arms were too short etc etc, sometimes i would go out on the bike thinking cool this pair works, get 5 miles down te road and due to slippage it would start coming on and they would get binned,
at work i wear bolle safet glasses, wrap around style with a strap, most of the time there on top of my head tho,
for lesuire i have two pairs of identical oakley 'custom' gascans, they are sprayed in matt black which gives them a really nice almost powder coated feel which grips my greasy nose, they are extremely light and have large wide arms, they also have amber gold iridium coated lenses which have been polarised and engraved with my nickname, they cost me 150 quid each, but as i said i find it hard to find a pair that don't cause that 'cramp' problem.hope this helps, ifyou want a custom pair of oakleys, then try these guys in the uk,
http://www.theinternetopticians.co.uk/oakley-custom-program_c-201.html
or for a better idea of what they can provide try oakleys custom program on their international site..
skiboyFree MemberTry these,
I used them a few years ago to do the suspended floors in lounge and dining room and upstairs bathroom, between 500-800 quid a room,
used 20mm engineered american oak, 2nd grade downstairs (all knotty and lovely looking).
1st grade upstairs (premium planks, no knots or holes etc, due to 760KG cast iron bath thats not including water and person/persons !!!)fantastic service delivery etc, instructions on secret nailing etc..
skiboyFree Membertrue about the warrenty, but i got my DX last week and in last week before christmas i was nearly knocked off 3 times in 3 days on the only 1 mile stretch of road in a 14 mile daily commute.
i have ridden with 2 frogs + 1 60 lumen headtorch and a cannondale/fizik back light since it was dark,
cars used to see me and think bike and just come out or across a junction at me.
NOW with 900 lumens, the last two nights on the way home, cars are actually stopping while im still 50 odd metres away from the junction because they have no idea what is coming..its greeat save your tenner and
get the 900 lumen , you cant knock the quality either, but thats just my opinion
skiboyFree MemberI have a Landrover defender TUM FFR, 2.5D,permentant 4 x 4, purchased from HM armed forces in 2004, it does 65 flat out in 5th, on the tank so to speak.
but when it snows it comes into its own !!!
skiboyFree Memberi have one of these in the kitchen,

80W !!!! british made, amazing quality, plays cd's etc, mp3, flash, usb, iphone-ipod,DAB,blah, has spare inputs etc, made from walnut, custom built speakers including 2.5'' long throw sub in base, best sound i've ever heard from something this compact!!! only thing is £500 price,,but worth it..in dining room i have one of these:
plugged in to yamaha dab/cd micro with mordaunt -short speakers ,
very nice but not as nice as the R4

skiboyFree Memberdunno if they are 'cheap', but in the summer i got so bored of waiting for CRC to deliver i went to a local bike shop and re-ordered from them
,,THEN after nearly 3 weeks waiting again i cancelled that one too and
went to these guys, they were real quick on the uno and cranks, 4 days me thinks, might not be cheap but at least they delivered.
skiboyFree Member41 next week !!!
