+1 for being in control, well done,

karma will sort it eventually don't worry about that, 😉

you did the right thing for sure, she was defiantly trying to get you in the mire,

I have two georgous girls 5 and 3 and i'm pretty sure i would want to slaughter the scrote,
2 years ago in spain, we had an intruder in our apartment at 3.30am, he woke my wife while climbing in our daughters window, i beat him unconcious with the help of a english police man next door, a local spainard thief high on drugs, it wasn't easy, it took 30 mins to knock the steam out of him, he was in a bit of a state, we did think we where going to get arrested, but the spanish police seemed to be amused by what we did to him, but it isn't that way here, be careful, don't ruin your life or your families,

carm and in control will win the day, as i said karma will dole out the rest,

    good luck

cheers for the pointers slowrider, i had my first run on it sunday last,
we live a few miles from brickhill/woburn/aspley call it what you will- and on sunday i think the lads where having laugh with me, we usually do plenty of climbs but on sunday we seemed to be doing them all, a couple of times i had to quit and push even while using the front saddle thumbs and elbows under the bar method, 😯
it was really steep though so it didn't bother me, all the normal climbs i've been doing on my 140 soul where no problem, just a little bouncy off the roots, but i didn't fail to get to the top, on the first climb i was first to the top, just, closely followed by a litespeed HT, a blue pig, a soul, a blizzrd, a trek HT, a spesh bouncer and some geezer on a shopping bike 😯

got to admit, the wheels were my first time away from xc717 tube type things, the kendas came folded, several attempts at inflating them left me slighlty less than worried were the logos where 😕

i like SPD's personally, i have 3 other bikes with eggbeaters on which iv'e ridden for around 8-9 yrs i think, i find them instinctive to get in and out of,
Candy sl's to me feel like huge DX's after so long on spindles, getting the back end sliding around at the weekend while clipped in felt excellent,
i find no reason to go for any other pedal personally, if i want a foot down i'll just flick it out and shove it down and click it back in as i power out the corner 😀

the creosote ain't going on as the whole bloody fence is coming down, all 150 feet of it, and a wall is going up when i've saved up the cost of the bricks,

might as well add the bike cost me £3400 put together, i brought a box of parts every week for around 3 months, the last part came two weeks ago, so i had no big outlay up front or at the end to pay off, just paid as i went along,
the forks came from progressive-bikes on this forum and i got a whopping £260 off the list price, that was the best deal i got,

overall i'm happy, i was going to buy a lappy zesty originally but i'm so glad i changed my mind and built yet another hardtail, this one sits in the shed next to my much loved cotic soul, my rockhopper, my badboy ss and an ageing giant nrs29 (my only bouncer) 😯

Well the results are in, and i can tell you these bikes are amazing,

I've still got the silly grin on my face from sliding the back end round every avaliable tree and corner whilst hurtling down the hill at never before speeds :P,

now it's time to dispell a few myths,

1, 160 vans on the evil sovereign are good, not bad, 😀
2, the headtube failed to snap and poke me eyes out, 😉
3, you CAN climb on a evil sov even with 160 vans, 😛
4, you can go so much faster down hills with a set of 160 vans (without crapping your pants) 😯
5, not every bit of advice you get on this forum is based on fact
and some peole may just being trying to talk you out of something
that they would do if they could 👿
6, if you want to experiment and try things, screw what others think
7, i would like to thank Gabe and Kevin at EVIL for giving me some pointers on how to get the most out of a longer fork on their bike, 😉

    ro,

No disrespect intended but my best mate has lived in bkk as a permanant resident for 5 yrs now, he speaks thai better than most thai's and 5 other languages, his wife is thai and heavily preggers, they also have a son,
they live a short distance from the redshirt'camp' (around 5 miles), he his wife and kids are yellow shirts,(they support the king and are buddists), generally a peace loving lot,

if you watch the news, you can see cars buses and people all around getting on with thier daily lives, the army are shooting 12G shotgun rounds and 9mm para from HK carbines mostly into the air, it is contained, my mate really doesn't understand what all the fuss is a about as someone else mentioned its like people saying londons completely locked down after a small riot in brixton,

I'm with tails on this one,it's a crock,

One of my mates lives in BKK with his expectant wife and young boy (theirs, not hired for the day!!!),
they live around 3 miles from the City centre on the way to the new airport, I spoke to him at noon today, he said it's all hiped up for our consumption,
I was expecting sandbags and flak jackets after watching the bbc, nothing of the sort, and believe me if there was trouble he would have them,

He's French (garlic munching surrender monkey) 😉

parcelfarce are bad granted, but if it takes two days on a 48hr freebee then thats fine,

it's the not being able to contact them that's the problem, say for instance they accidently swiped an extra £100 quid of your card by accident, how you going to ask for it back ?,

its all a bit too greedy big and now it's starting to show, you cant say send us an email to a customer base that is global without having the means to reply.

i understand that they probally get thousands of email a day, but that's because they want the buisness, if they want the buisness then they have tho have the goods and the means, this is where it all goes wrong

well i've put 2.5k of parts through them in the last 6 weeks,

I used to love CRC but i now have a very sour taste left in my mouth,

at present I'm waiting for a part dispached order to be completed despite getting an email saying that the parts were now in stock, if they are now in stock why the hell don't they send them ?? they are still sitting there saying 'out of stock',

the order i put through at 6:30am on tuesday was, according to their email due for delivery today, but never turned up, all day it has not been trackable, but in the last hour it has emerged at the national hub, so that will be tuesday then!!
    thats a week!!!

but by far the worst offence is i have tried to call, to email and today even resorted to the fax, I have never got through, never had an email reply and never got a fax back, which is good, because if they did pick up the phone i would cancel all the outstanding orders and tell them to get fkd,

biggest yes, but you should never ignore your customers, it says more than all the expensive banners and advertising put together, they no longer have the ability to care, just like all those other crap online shops they quickly secure your cash, then give you what you want when they can be arsed.

7 orders, a total of £2388.67p, not one on time,

aluminium will always oxidise unless you use a grade like 2000,

as the owner of 2,!!! yes 2 pairs of xtr cranks i can confirm they are in fact made of a mix of Crappite and costalotium, all woven round papermache and lovingly finished with some cheese spread,

not really they are duralium, which is a cheese spread from from spain, i think they export it to japan, where is then sold on to shimano as a metal paste?

i have noticed that you feet don't even need to touch the outer arm to remove the finish on these, i think just the suggestion is enough to scour the arms.. 😐

I've had 2 pairs of 517's still run three sets of 717's and have just
got some xm819's as well, the first pair of of 517's rear split, the others have
never even gone out of true,
Intrestingly the first pair were built by phil corleys in MK, the rest
were all built by frank at merlin,

Draw your own conclusion on that 🙂

Here in Milton Keynes we are under the flightpaths of both
Luton and heathrow and you can usually see around 5 in the air at most
times , it's great not to hear them engine breaking all
the time and I have not seen a single cloud all day, just pure blue sky and a couple
of trainer flights out of Cranfield

Once again another beautiful day in bucks!!

I'm under the flightpaths for both heathrow and london luton and this time in the morning contrails would fill the sky, more volcanos needed,

this must be similar to the 911 effect they had on the weather in the US in the days after the attac k when all air traffic was grounded.

i've brought a sea dweller 3 yrs ago for my 40th birthday, well supposed to be my 40th, i had always promised myself one when i could afford one, certain conditions had to be met, no credit card purchase, no loan , all debts had to be cleared, bills all paid etc etc,

managed to do all that by 38.5yrs old, worked really hard for the last decade to be where we are now,

just realised that i could have brought a rolex from the guys on the banner on this site, what a bummer 😉

As an engineer you soon learn that nothing is ever perfect, you can try and try and you never reach that point of satisfaction, you nearly always end up 99.% there,
there is always room for improvement somewhere,

thing is if you changed that functional piece of ti (said caliper bracket) for something different, you would end up over engineering what is already perfect for the job in hand as well as raise the price for no good reason.

i would be perfectly happy if i had designed the soda, i would be extremely happy with linskeys build,
if iwas after a ti frame, i would have previously gone for a hummer, not now, shes a beauty, i would buy the soda,

well done good choice of builder, great design,

    ar$e sucking complete. 😉

I had the same answer from gabe, I also had another reply from one of his oppos
he runs a 36 talas and loves it , he also sent all the new geometry measurements adjusted for
the 36 van , Knocks the headangle back to 67 degs , but I will wind
down the vans using the sag to 68 degs and check it with my digital protractor, my new sovereign in
White med shipped from crc yesterday , I brought the evil as I can't keep waiting for my bfe to arrive ,
but I will still have that when cy finally gets them over, gotta feel bad for him hope he gets his stock soon it's such a good product, I have a soul that I brought 3 yrs ago and will never part from it,
one of my mates ran a talas 36 on his stiffee and loved it right up to the point some welsh tealeaf
releived him of it, never be afraid to try things that what I say, bike wise of course not tealeafing

    JC for me,
remember going to get the paper for my parents on the caravan site in wales and finding out that Elvis was dead, felt amazed, slgihlty bewildered etc, might have been my age ?

also remember getting off a ferry from milos to paros in the cyclades, then going to get something for breakfast and hearing on the radio in a taverna that Johnny cash had died, i was actually upset and saddened instead of amazed, bewildered etc,

diffenece is when i hear elvis on the radio i don't miss his voice,

with JC he always sounds as if he is singing to you alone, and his death still makes me sad inside,

    odd but there you go.

ok i think i may need to re-phrase that,

If my 2010 cotic Bfe should for some strange reason be delayed to say, may
i may need to regretably seek an alternative frame

(it has been on order since nov, it's not like i'm impatient, but six months may be stretching it even for a saint)

what other frames fit the bill, i have just brought a set of 2010 van 36 rc2's to go on the Bfe, if i was really pushed, what other frames would fit the bill ?

    pig has been done,

    already own a soul,

don't want a bouncer as have one of those too,

do evil still make a sovereign in 853 ?

can anyone list some others, must take a 160mm with 1/1/8 steerer and like it dirty.

    that sound better ? 😀
