i’m in the science research industry and we have enjoyed a rather prosperous last two years, even had a good rise a few months back, But saying that you can see the effects of the recession with the companies we use for sub contract work, they are generally engineering companies and there is not much work around,

on the street confidence is knocked for sure, but up at the mall you would hardly notice it,

lots of houses for sale on the street i live on, and the people across the road keep having the bailiffs around (not being nosey, they are friends and told us? ) as a guide their house is worth around 3-400K and he is self employed as a plumber

sharkbait, i was just about to add that, there is most definatly a damp
mark going on there, i had to remove two downstairs floors in my house because of a similar issue, both the lounge and dining room joists were rotted out,

when i came to put new joists down i laid them on a membrane using roofing felt strips, then before we naled down the new oak floors, we laid
a plastic sheet across the joists then tounge and grooved the new oak floorboards into place with secret nailing, this solved the problem of drafts from those floors,

my friend 2 doors down is italian, he cooks lovely food, my favourite is a beaten rolled piece of beef marinated for 24 hrs in a tomato basil and garlic soup, served by itself with bread olive oil and a side plate of roasted veg,

real italian food is never bland as long as your remember to finish with a nice bottle of lemocello from the freezer 😀

    you mad ?,

Go to a decent jeweller, beaverbrooks, frazer hart, goldsmiths, leslie davis or something similar, i would certainly not buy a quality branded watch online or you will end up with a fake,

Always loved riding bikes, tinkering and building them , road bikes in a cycling club at 11 then bmx in my early teens then back to road bikes then mountain bikes in the mid eighties until 1990 , I then did other sports namely wakeboarding and monoskiing for around 6 years but always missed riding so 14 yrs ago started riding mtb again and have never stopped , ride everyday to work and Sundays when I can ,

Just being out on a bike can’t be beat IMO , rain shine or whatever , it’s pure peace

Louisiana isn't the last track m6ttf,

fantastic album had it on pre-order for 3 months, took a few plays to get my head round some of it but now I can't stop playing it,

i thought it would be hard to follow 'oblivion with bells' but it has, you either like these two or not,

i got the deluxe version with all the vids, worth the extra £2

Mine are 11's but I'm normally a 8-9 uk , I've had mine around 18 months and they go out 6 days a week in the winter 5 in the summer and are just about to start falling apart , Velcro is going on one shoe , the dyneema pull on the other shoe has also failed, apart from that they have been faultless, and worth the money,

Saying that I'm looking at a pair of lakes this time round for a change ,

+1 for winter, can't wait to get all sh1ty and covered in mud again, like the summer but riding in it gets a bit too hot for my liking, love all the seasons really, but find winter the favourite as you always have spring to look forward to, if that makes sense 🙄

i have a ex-mil landrover 110, in 6yrs i have only had a few issues, clutch exploded requiring a strip of the transfer box-gearbox assembly and a annoying electrical problem that left me without tail lights in mid winter( quickly worked out i could make it the 20 miles home using the the rear fogs as rear lights, slightly illegal but didn't seem to get noticed by other motorist who probably thought i was on manoeuvres )

it's been parked up since christmas but my wife moved it a few weeks back and it started first turn of the key.

apart from that, cant think of anything else, i am going to buy another more modern 110 defender as soon as i get the cash,

hired a terrano for 2 weeks in cyprus this year and that was pretty good if a bit flimsy, wouldn't buy one myself but worth a look,

used a disco 300tdi for 3 yrs towing ski boats, good workhorse fairly fast and comfortable but from new it had 3 gearboxes, two transmissions and several turbo's, make your own opinion on that one.

In 93 I was outside a bar in Milton Keynes a lad had been giving this ugly ( sorry but she was ) bird some jip all night, anyway when everyone was kicked out a 2am she was waiting outside for him, she started by giving him a verbal and when he announced he wouldn't hit her she started laying in ,
He had a bottle of becks in his hand and after a few punches to his face he decided to christen her head with it, queue lots of blood, she took it better than anyone would have ever expected and spent the next five minutes reducing him to a bloody pulp, to say the baying crowd where cheering was a sum what understatement even his mates thought he asked for it

4 hrs at very small engineering workshop in brackley,1997.

was told at the interview that they needed a fanuc vmc programmer/machinist, went in on first day and he told me he had changed his mind and wanted me as a manual turner?, told him i hadn't done that in 13 yrs since my apprenticeship and that i wasn't fast,
he gave me my first part and then spent the rest of the morning telling me that i didn't seem to know what i was doing on the lathe, by lunch it
had turned a bit nasty, eventually i told him he had to pay me for the morning and that he was lucky that i didn't have time to break his little weedy face for him, went straight to the agency thta had sent me there and gave them some abuse and told them to take me off their books and give me a cheque. 😀

I've had once since april and have only rode my Cotic soul once since i finished building the sov up,

many will say that it's not the best bike you can buy as it's quite heavy and the frame is pricey etc, but I don't know what it is about it, somethings different in a big way, because despite the fact it feels twice as light as my soul i can't stop riding the bloody thing, makes you smile and just motors down hills and never feels like you are going to bin it, was very supprised the first time i got it airborne it feels so right and i have a 36 van up front which should make it a bit unweildy !!

    climbs fine too?

just buy one, if you don't like it sell it, someone will bite your hand off for it,

was at duxford on saturday for the battle of britain 70th,

amazing seeing 16 spitfires in the air playing together, couldn't help
thinking the pilots must be having the time of thier lives 😀

added bonus is bletchley park (station X) is at the top of the road i live
on and sunday i had the pleasure of a lancaster flypast while it was on it's way to duxford, normally get around 4-5 of these every summer, including hurricane, spitfire, red arrows (only once this summer) and some nutjob in a dakota hwo likes to skim the chimneys for 15 mins

    rkk01,

well done some sense at last, like the technique of listening with the mouth open, it opens the ear fully and your hearing feels like it goes up 25%, was trying to explain this to the wife once but she just doesn't get it or even care, some people are like that they just don't want to use all their senses,

    just a hearing problem !

plus 1 for the darwin award, in mk we have had a few people getting nailed by cars while using headphones, but riding into a lorry thats in front of you, well you can't blame the cans for that one,
