When I first bought my Rolex SD it ran at -1 sec per day , it used to drive me nuts, then while
On holiday in Spain a thief broke in the room that my youngest daughter was sleeping in at 3am ,
After I beat the **** out of him i found it was running +6 secs a day !! That really drove me nuts , I went on
TZ’s forum and asked what most people would do, most said learn to live with it as it’s still within
COSC specs , Blow that I thought it has to be perfect but after a while I realised they were right and I was
Being a little analy retentive about the whole thing, learn to live with it, I just set mine 1 min slow at the start of the
Month and know it will he two mins fast by the start of the next, roughly meaning I will always be 2 mins early for everything 🙂 ,

Don’t waste your time , enjoy your watch relax , it’s only a few seconds 😉

I will get mine regulated when a service is needed in a few years, it’s 4 yrs old so that will be sometime in the next 6 possibly

had a ‘silent night’ bite guard in the post his morning, sometimes i wake up with my teeth gritted so hard my jaw hurts, other times i actually wake up still clenched,

I was in the dentists two days ago having a bit of repair work done, my dentist is so impressed by my bite, i have previously chipped and broken my porcelain bridge and smashed several teeth, he suggested a bite guard, bit of internet searching found these, amazon sell them:

    http://www.biteguard.co.uk/

I went for the top of the range jobby, they are really small !!, first go tonight… as i’m typing this I’m grinding !!!

Adventures in my youth ( a german soldier on the eastern front 1941-45)
    by Armin Scheiderbauer.
    ISBN 1-874622-06-X

a very good read as it is a memoir of a man who fought for the 252nd infantry division ending up
with the rank of oberleutnant and winning the iron cross and close combat clasp. he was finally captured by the russians but survived and was freed in 47.

well worth a look, one of my favourite books, hard to find but a quick search and you can find it in amazon.com/US site and price though,

    oldgrump hehe,

loved driving mine around too, nobody pulls out in front of an mod landy and it was always given right of way at the roundabouts.

mine too has the high back end with uprated springs to take the extra weight of the batteries,

once got a real military convoy try and flag me down on the A34 as they thought i was going the wrong way,
be sad to see it go.

ho hum, think i will buy a lightweight when i get the spare

By chucking down the stairs etc, she’s a bit heavy handed!!,
Her brother brought 2 henry’s by accident for his business he gave us
One foc and 5 years later it’s still going strong despite the abuse it gets,

space dust/moon dust was created by my father in law !! along with a host of other things including instant granulated coffee,

may sound like BS but as i’ve seen the patent for instant granulated coffee on his wall and know he had a house on ‘the ridge’ in HK until the handover,

I wouldn’t say they are retrograde , that’s s bit Like saying riding bikes is a step backward since the motorbike was invented, it’s horses for courses , I did always think that spd on a mtb was a bit of snobbery when I first started using them more a case of look at me I’m so confidant that I won’t fail that I have nailed myself to the bike 🙂 ,

I just can’t help thinking that when I had a bmx I could do all kinds if things whilst still being glued to the dx’s that I would consider unsafe to attempt while clipped to an mtb,

yep i sort of agree with jools above,

    BUT,

I think i’m going to give flats a stab, i was offered some cranford crampons by progressive-si a while back and im going to take him up on the offer, been riding SPD since 97 and have only really had one massive bone crunching off due to being clipped in so I’m happy with SPD’s but all this hype in the mags has got me interested,

I will keep my beloved soul on SPD’s but i have a Evil sov that is just crying out for a set of flats, i think it will make the ride on it a lot more interesting as i found myself unclipping on some corners so i could get a foot down and the back out sliding round which doesn’t seem right in SPD’s,

what shoes would you flatties recommend ?

my best mates father was fallshermjager, but as he died three years ago aged 82 i have yet found the courage to ask my mates ageing mother for his service no.s etc so i can find out more..

ventrolla did all ours, 9 sills replaced, all new sash cords and fittings, a few new lower bars and 3 glass panes (Polish float glass),

all have ventrollas brush seals and are a doddle to take out in around
2 mins with no tools by yourself, would recommend them highly.

and no sashes are not drafty but as mentioned the glass is a little on the thin side, but who cares, they have lasted 95 years and i would rather have draft than inhale the carcogenic fumes emitted from petro chemical crap like plastic, oh and they look nice

    Banana,

I would be interested in that info too, the hospitallers had a thing for putting houses next to river crossings in england, the bridges/fords being a focal point for travellers i suppose, there is one on the Northern side of the Iron Bridge in newport pagnell.

My ten penith, my house was built in 1915, my mums house was built in the 1600’s, but my mates wifes parents house, was mentioned in the doomsday book (baliifs house) and had a massive garden that even had the original village pond in it, which later witnessed some witch dunkin’.in her bedroom she had the remains of a C13 fireplace in the wattle and dorb walls.

if your heading for the cyclades then Pireaus (athens) is your port, for the dodecanesse then Kos or Rhodes is a good starting point,

Pireaus is the biggest port i have ever seen with litrally hundreds of ferrys going everywhere, the islands have several ferry hubs Kos is one, Paros is another, i’ve personally used fast ferries (just as quick as a seacat if not quicker at full chat), vodafone seacats (they have two sizes of these, one type takes only around 10 vehicles the larger has a much bigger capacity but not sure how much) there are also slower ferries these are old fleet and a little iffy quite a bit slower but bargain basement cheap, they carry anything, ive seen the greek army unloading from them before.

do some internet searching, ferry time tables are published but they are seasonal(very) and also can change due to local weather conditions, i was once stuck on Paros because nobody would go out in the chop, so the thing with the ferries is you need to be flexable, also i don’t thnik there are many campsites in greece, it’s not something they do, but i may be wrong.

Not xenophobia , merely British humour , having visited Cyprus , kos, rhodes, leros, lipsi, kalyminos,Patmos, sifnos, milos,Paros and the main land , I quite like
the Greeks , have just booked a villa for April – may 2011 in Cyprus and can’t wait ,

The best island by far IMO is Leros, stunningly quiet , knights of st John castle,Italian neo-
Classical buildings, a few tavernas , amazing bays , and a wealth of history from ww2 as it
Was the sight of a vicious battle between the LRDG (sas) , the early SBS and the german
    Fallschirmjäger & Brandenburg mountain troops,

+1 for the karma, rudeness or embarrassment it don’t matter when karma tokens are up for grabs,

i was riding my motorcycle to nightshift 15 yrs ago when i saw a granny go down on some ice outside the local hall, i stopped and helped her up and took her inside, the myopic group of biddys all came outside to thank me but instead ended up thanking this idiot passing by, who lapped up the praise and even got a mention in the local rag for his good doing,

never mind i got the karma tokens, he no doubt at some time paid for his lies,

    well done

no its called logging, they plant trees in one area and fell them in another, i don’t think centre parcs is going to be that small, the field next door is part of the course and the other side is the A5D, 😉

they have been quite busy farming the trees in the last few months, seen it happen for many years, didn’t know there was any trail on that side of the track that runs from london lane to the concrete block where the logs are piled,

We’ve got a 51 tdi golf which we have had from new , nine coming on 10 years and 110,000 miles on it has never failed to start , never broken down and is hardly ever washed and shows no sign of rust or rot, my wife learned to drive in America and drives it like she’s stolen it so it must be tough ,

Buy one if you can , forget the rest
