as far as i’m aware, longbow is not needed in the ‘stan, 50 tanks coming over the horizon has been replaced by a couple of crafty yoofs with AK and a command wire hidden behind a mud wall.

any road, an apache was palying a couple of miles from us last night, really distinctive sound

Ah you still don’t get the relationship between working, income and expenditure, let me simplify , if you stop giving all your money away then you would have more in your pocket and could reduce your hrs further

    fuzzywuzzy,

” Who needs a kettle, just boil a saucepan of water etc, it’s about convenience and labour-saving.”

that is my point precisely, more conveient maybe, but it can’t be labour-saving as you need to work to generate the money with which to purchase your labour-saving device, thus not really saving labour at all ?

and to say that because everything is that way these days makes the argument redundant is proof indeed that the ideal of selling us stuff we don’t really need is well and truely ingrained in modern society 😀

The price you pay for convenience is spending more time working so you can afford to pay silly prices
For something that is not nessasary any better than you had before, thus spending less time shaving will in the end mean more time working,

IMO the only reason they put so many blades on these days is because the blades are so crap they need that many just so you can get a decent finish, if the first blade worked ok then you wouldn’t need the others, and if the first blade does perform correctly then you are paying all that extra money for the extra 2 or 3 which in fact do bugger all?
As someone said the other day , modern razors were not needed they were just designed to get you to part with more money, a pretend fix for something which isn’t really broken,

I look forward to spending 10 mons in the mirror in place of another hour at work

    wahoooooo,

I got my Edwin Jagger ivory DB yesterday, along with 2 packs of derby and one of the crystal 10 blade packs,

my other order of some arko along with a boars hair brush also came in
the same time, the arko i actually like the smell of, the brush im afraid was a massive fail, it looked like it had been trimmed by david blunket and developed a rather severe case of Alopecia on first use, there is around 50% left now, well what do you expect for £3 🙁

a new replacement is on it’s way from jagger, bagger hair thing £27 !!,

some brushes on there were a full £100 ??, i would expect a whole bagger for that one that fitted on the hand like a glove puppet,

all i need now is to wait for another 6 days then i might have a shave

Thats it fully taken the plunge, two packs of blades and a jagger razor in the post to go with the arko and brush, thanks don_simon for the link , can’t wait to get started , I only shave once or twice a fortnight and my gilette fusion
Is crap it feels like trying to cut through brush with blunt scissors

you should try working where i am, we have a rather militant group led by an overbearing bully (or so he thinks), he even pinned the general manager against the coffee machine a few months back, in all fairness the general manager is a bit too soft and is walking a fine line between needing the guy and having all the tools to chuck him out the door with his tools after 27yrs.

we have to tolerate the bully for the time being until we find a resolve, we had a new member of staff 3 months back, he sweet talked her, was nice to her ,even giving her a new mp3 player, then when she was fully into him he told her to lodge a complaint for bullying against me,

unfortunately for the pair of them i never miss anything thats going on on account of all the gossips at work, so we had a meeting with her and she struggled not to drop them all in it along with herself, shame, she really slipped up when she announced that she had previously been in the same position before in several companies, oh well, she is being told monday that her contract is finished as we don’t need any more disruptive elements at work,

in the whole i feel sorry for her as she has been manipulated by the bully and ultimately it cost her her job, and during all this time i never said a bad word about her and was always very helpful, never mind.

about 30% of our workforce is this way inclined and seem to spend most of their days complaining about people telling them to do some work and stop standing round, they don’t even realise their actions could cost us all our jobs if they don’t do some work soon, still you can’t sack them because they is infringing their rights to be employed and they see it as bullying or discrimination against them..

50 cal..5:30 in the car park that would be a good resolve. 😉

hehe, got to agree with above,

depends on what you want out of life, if you want a 4×4 and to be like everyone else then don’t buy a defender, get a disco or similar and pretend your happy with what you have,

, if you want a real 4×4 then buy a defender, put up with the leaks, the noise, the crap mpg, etc etc,but you will smile every time you drive it and want to keep it forever,

ps.every one will tell you you are a fool,

i have my ex-mil 110 up for sale right now, loads of calls and interest and one offer in two days of being advertised, moneys going towards a TD5XS 110, but if i could i would keep both, and buy aniother ex-mil 110 that withams have for sale 🙂

forgot to add in seven years it has only broken once and its a 1986 vintage, clutch took a nose dive 100meters from my front door, that is all

you are wrong we don’t all have debt,

it is possible to become totally debt free, don’t crash peoples hope by saying otherwise, just by saying this i will no doubt be branded a willy waver but i don’t care as at least i’m being honest and truthful.

13.25 and 67 degs head angle with 160vans according to kevin@Evil, raising the BB height 8mm from 140 fork height,

mine has never felt like i’m perched on top ?,

the emails i got from gabe and kevin @ evil are not on my mac, so i will email them to you when i get to work in the morning,

it’s all good though, i have a cotic soul with fox 32 130mm on which rides really sweet, but compared to the sov with 36 vans the soul feels like its made of jelly !,

it is heavier but who cares, i just chucked huge wods of xtr,xo and carbon at it to bring the weight back down a tad, you don’t notice the extra weight but it sure feels solid, climbs better than the cotic with the 130’s which gets all noodly,

i say press that button, and to help here is another sexy pic 😉

stayed there a few times, stick to the west coast north of Port Louis and below Grande baie, unless you can afford to stay at Le Saint Géran, 😯 , how much !!!!!!

the benefit of being on the west coast between the capital and Grande Baie is there is no shortage of places to eat out especially in the Baie, why go all that way and spend your time eating the same stuff with all those other fully inclusive guest, as i learnt the first time i was there, get out, its not as expensive as you would think, the people are amazing, the country is staggeringly beautiful, its much more than it looks on the white sand brochures.

a good place is around mont chosiy, have a look at this link
    http://www.elegantdestinations.co.uk/mauritius/accom_choisy_boiserie.htm

only a short taxi ride to Grande Baie or Port Louis,

there is hundreds of places to stay like this, also try owners aborad, holiday lettings and holiday rentals, all websites containing lots of lots of these villas and apartments to suit all tastes and budgets,

+1 for Paros and +1 for Sifnos, Sifnos is the better but also on the way to Paros so if you don’y like it you can go to Paros or Santorini or maybe Milos, that’s always worth a visit.

    Splat,

have a few weeks off the bike, you might be exhausted without realising you are, or more likely as a man not prepared to acknowledge it, i ride 14 miles to work and back and work around 10-12 hrs a day, 2 young kids, lots to do around the house, weekend ride with the boys, etc etc, soon gets u tired but i just keep going until something usually snaps.

    look after yourself

yep visual migraine, i get these when really worn out, standard behind the right eye migraine with visuals
was my usual until around 5yrs ago,

i have a few of these every year, no pain, no behind the eye, just the visual aura followed( if i dont take a seat) by a tunnel vision effect, only seem to last around 20-30mins but feel a little unsettled after.

dr said live with it, tough etc…

my advise would be to rest for a few weeks, no riding etc, get yourself de-stressed and relaxed, then try riding again, don’t wind yourself up before the ride and try to relax on the way and at the start,

never had one while riding but have had all kinds of other problems that i’ve just got to grips with, dehydration migraines, hot flushes, over heating, heart pulpertations , dizzyness, alls well for me now and i enjoy my riding more than ever especially the climbs,

chin up, hope you find your trigger
