everyone is going on about the bike.

what about the man. he shouldn’t have been in the road. but he was because no pavement, so was he wearing a hi vis ?. did he have a torch ? it says he was coming back from his daughters dinner party. was he drunk/drinking ??. The cyclist wasn’t speeding, conditions or not, legally that does not come into it. common sense though is a different thing.

also Ive had strava say i was doing over 100mph on some segments, and we all no how reliable that is !!!

    freak accident imo. right decision.

had 720 on my bike for ages, didnt feel right, went to 760 and they felt great. i bought some new bars at 780 with the intention to cut them down to 760, but a year on still havent. i love the control i have with the wider bar, but i love techie riding and the small bars dont cut it with me. i have wide shoulders (so ive been told 😉 )

i had a qashqai. i could get two bikes in the back, but in winter it got a bit dirty ! so i used a saris bones 3 bike rack. fits on the qashqai great.

if its a full suss, it could be your bushes on rear shock. it may feel like its coming from the front end, but that could be a cause of it.

for every negative there is a positive i guess.

ive 2 canyon bikes, both delivered ahead of time, if carlsberg did customer services then canyon would be it. what problems i did have were sorted straight away and did there up most to get it right and ive a couple of mates who have them and they have had some cracking service where they have had parts upgraded foc. they always reply to my emails, even had one back with 30 mins on a wednesday evening.

personally i cannot fault them. i would certainly buy my next bike off them.

business is business. at the end of the day there here to make money from us. there is no loyalty or sentimental crap towards the customer. this goes for every business, lbs, supermarket, hairdresser etc etc so if they do make a mistake, then fine, if we as a customer can take advantage of that then great, doesnt happen often. lets not forget a “business” certainly takes advantage of the customer day in and day out.

and if an employee does make a major mistake, if that means getting fired, then fine, thats business.

if you went a restaurant and ordered rump steak and the waiter brought you fillet steak by mistake and you started to eat it who should pay for it ??

mistakes happen, its how we rectify them mistakes which is important imo.

His UFO show on BBC3 was a truly entertaining piece of TV. Brother saw him in some Pinter play at the Almeida – rated him as an actor

when he was filming for that in shrewsbury he stayed at the hotel i worked at, he came in kitchen after the meal and thanked us and my brigade. i thought he was a top bloke. human traffic is a amazing film of my generation. fave bit is him in the back of the taxi. brilliant.

    who’s that geyser..whats is name

peter f*****g andre ! nobody loves ya

    great stuff lol

I tried tubeless for a few weeks. I thought it was going ok and then I had a burp going over a tiny innocuous roller at Gawton and this happened to the rear.

just out of curiosity, were the rims pikey ?

for me, one of the best things i changed on the bike going tubeless. never had a problem except one tyre rip on a nobby nic, never burped even after some tasty drops. i do prefer the wider rim though which i think helps.

sorry op to hijack, but its kind off on topic. with regards the voucher “value off” and “suitable replacment”

to me this is too different things. i have a canyon, now say that gets nicked. would i get the value of the bike or a suitable replacement. as the value of the bike , i couldnt get the same spec with a voucher from wheelies for example, so would they give you a bike more value of what my bike is worth ?? i cant see that tbh.
im just curious if it ever happens.

my biggest head **** with the maintanance is why is based on gross and not net pay. you should at least get some tax relief, but no, screwed again. another one with them is if say you changed job and the new one is less money. if that pay cut isnt 25% then your payments wont change. ? but if she has a pay rise then that doesnt get considered either.

it will be safer in the future to not get married and not have kids at all.

there is no such thing as equal rights in this situation. the child part hasnt been to bad on my part. i think it helps when the children have a voice and they no they have a father, i reckon if they were babies it would have been different. but the house is a different matter. solictors are another. now they certainly dont give a shit about you. im a couple grand in already and still no more forward from when it first started. where that money could have been spent on the kids if it got settled like adults. its a shame really.
my advice to any new fathers, make sure your on the birth certificate as you have a few more rights than if you are not.

More than 175 nights child stays with you a year
50 % reduction plus an extra £7 a week reduction for each child in this band.

there you go. you will have to pay something depending on your salary.

the csa does not exist no more and doesnt take on new cases since last year. its the cma (child maintanance service) a bit more father friendly, just a bit mind you. and you may be right with the maintanance ( just going through something similar) .good luck with getting 50/50 with the kids, if she doesnt agree then its off to court and the law is as sexist as it gets unfortunatly.

    same here.

make sure you check new frame over with a tooth comb, and what the warranty is actually with this one, a new 3 year or is it continued from last one.

ive just got back yesterday after 3 days riding in afan myself. totally agree with you on saturday. we did W2 after the afternoon part it was lashing it down. Never been so wet, still great though, proper knaft when we got back.

did blade friday, a bit naff tbh, last decent was great, the rest had no flow and silly signs saying drop your saddle which were just utter pointless.

sunday did penyhdd (something like that )short but sweet, some fast flowy berms. good fun and just enough after weekend of riding and beer !

and dont forget we live in the uk, if you dont like rain, then you will never get on the saddle……. 8)

there was a linkedin profile for him, he is a student living in bristol ( or was ?) studing Architecture & Planning. thats all i can see.

i hope you get it, you never no, but paypal gift, for £750 to a stranger. the fees would have only been about 20 quid if that.

hope it comes for you. he might have gone back italy (email address is a hotel in italy ??), so he sold his bike to fund ticket back home. you dont no.

not done hamsterley, but whinlatter was just okay imo. the last run down on the first loop was really good, but that was it for me, second loop was naff, the last run on that wasnt good at all. both loops can be done really quick as well. if i lived local i would still ride it midweek, but at over a 2.5 hours drive, i wont go again unless im passing or if im up there for a weekend. just my opinion.

i had a similar creak (same bike) coming from the rocker area. eventually found out it was the bearings on the rocker (i had a look and they were just demolished). bike was still under warranty, so they said they would replace it, they picked the bike up, but instead of just changing the bearings they ended up putting a brand new rocker arm/triangle on the bike. so something was wrong with that, unless they wouldnt have replaced it.

now nearly a year on, ive a creak come back, though i thinks its coming from the BB.

off topic slightly how many spacers have you on your BB. Im sure the bike came with zero, buts its a 73mm bb so i thought it would have been 2 on the right, but it looks and feels wrong ????

i had my minion pop off the rim in the kitchen when the heating was on full whack one night. the bead wasnt up to much anyways as tyre was on way out, but the heat certainly contributed to it. proper shit it when it came off 😎
