I put a WTD on here as I’d rather give someone here the beer tokens than some random on eBay/facebook.

Come out with something better than I could find elsewhere online.

Recently switched back to Octopus after moving and having a few months of SSE, I think there is a bit cheaper elsewhere but I’ve received top customer service and got cash back, so can’t complain.

Also waiting on a ball valve to make my snow foam adaptor… if you’ve seen the paint work on my cars you would wonder why? Hey.. marketing works…and it looks cool… it’s the first time in years I’ve had a drive and been able to wash my cars at home!

Beer from Electric Bear, joined Flavourly beer discovery club and bought their 20 pack…. should keep me going!

Beer and tools…. had a bit of a mental day and decided to buy some matched sockets and spanners…. 1/4, 3/6 and 1/2 standard and deep metric socket rails. I can get ride of some of the mixed stuff I inherited.

We had a Zoom balance bike, can’t say the weight was any issue for our two, or me carrying it, think it was about £80 in Porthleven.
Got used extensively through Penrose walking the dog. I gave it to a local pre-school and it was still going when I left the village this year, boy had it from 2 and turns 9 this year.

Cannondale aluminium road bike things, road it a handful of times and hated the site of it! Stiff as hell and really unpleasant to ride, felt like you’ve been for 10 rounds after a days riding. Took my 7 years before buying another road bike again….

There was a comedian that presented that German, France (+other European countries) and Japan have done better since the war as they lost/were occupied, this gave them a chance to ditch the old way of politics to bring in new ideas, where we won so were happy we were doing things right.

I’ll have to see if I can dig out the video.

IMHO, If dedicated to using his Olympus chest mounting is the way to go with a fisheye.

    *Mirrorless….

Not advisable while the Olympus mirrorless is lighter and smaller than a DSLR it’s still a decent size lump to be mounted to a bike. I wouldn’t mount my Fuji XH-1 to my bike, no way!

Unless he was mounting a fish eye there is little chance anything would be or stay in focus during the ride. Then the possible damage to a glass lens of stones etc.
Possible damage to the lens mount from vibration as there is a bit of play in these things and if he’s got the standard lens I think these have plastic mounts.

GoPros and the like exists for a reason.

Trying to decided if to get my boy (9 next months about 136cm) a 24″ or push it out to a 26″. There seems to be a lot nicer 24″ wheeled exampled out there.

I’ve missed a lathe since leaving home (and my grandfather selling it…) Keep looking for a 2nd hand lathe, something like a Drummond round bed but I think it would cost me more to get in a workable quantity than buying a Chinese one.

Mate of mine just bought a Free Ranger kitted out in Sram Force while they were in the “Easter Sale” He seems pleased with it so far, bought some Vee tyres in the “sale” to tubeless it up.
I do find Planet X a bit rough with their builds, he had some paint chips, some down to carbon, but he was happy with a £40 voucher.
Price for the spec I think they are hard beaten.

Anecdotally – I know that some local GPs have been refusing home visits. And in more than one case, the patient has died. I’m not suggesting the GP could have saved them, just pointing out that they were genuine/serious calls. If that’s repeated across the country then that might help explain the numbers dying at home and the “empty” hospitals.

Yep, my gran died on Saturday, Dr wouldn’t come out when she started getting ill early in the week. was a hard enough job getting them out when she had died. Not mad at them in any way, just frustrated for my parents who were on their own with her not sure what to do, couldn’t get through on 111.

Doubt it’s advisable for me to go for the funeral now that I moved 200 miles way only a couple of months ago. Awkward one as I pretty much grew up with my Grandparents.

Made this one when we had a shed load of cabbage from the allotment and not enough time to eat it. Tasted alright but still can’t get the stink out of the jars. Would do it again though!

Found some good street signs yesterday, quick blast through Kent’s Bottom was pleasing…… (Didn’t get a photo of that sign :( )

Even found some grass up the middle.

Enjoyed mine kitted out with 700×43 on a Road/Gnarmac/Gravel ride today, only a hour spin but got me out the house.
Can’t say I’d want to go as far as fitting a dropper post to one but I was a latecomer to droppers on MTBs so got pretty adapt at sticking weight out over the back of the saddle with it at full height. Still forget to drop my dropper half the time….
I do kinda wish I bought a Slate when I had the change….

Brilliant. Is there a twisting action? I need apples to practise this.

Nope, just leverage, it’s all about where you place your hands.

Here’s my go, I’m not quite at Bob’s level, I’m trying to learn not to use my leg for leverage…. I’m blaming my broken wrist/loss of hand/grip strength…

I used to get shaving rash. Bought a decent electric about 18 months ago and no hassle since. It’s much easier than fannying around with all of the paraphernalia

My problem with electric is it doesn’t give a close enough shave, Looks like I’ve skipped a day shaving even with an expensive one.

Worth a go for £15, though I would say I was initially put off by my first DE razor, boot/wilkinson sword cheap special, I bought a QShave, which is a copy Merkur Futur, and got on much better with it Since switching to that, starting with a small gap adjusting to a wider for a final pass. I get a shave closer than any disposable with 0 rash with a daily shave (course black hair). Just the odd notch taken out of my bum chin… might take up shaving again as I enjoyed the ritual but I do like my beard….

A Alum block is better than the sicks or pencils, added benefit of being to rub it all over your face.

Ditch the can of spray jizz and get some soap and a brush.

I used some pretty cheap soap Arko, pushed into a old Lush pot but a decent brush is key, treated myself to a nice pure badger brush which has lasted me years and makes the difference compared to synthetic, Body Shops synthetic brush is the best non-badger I could find.

Use the hottest water you can stand to make a lather with the soap, you made to make 2 or 3 passes, I go across then against the grain, with a lather in between, rinse your face with cold water and run an alum block over your face after, stings like hell!

Been shaving DE for about 8 years now after getting fed up replacing disposable blades every 2-3 days, used to get a lot less razor burn than I did but I did cut myself more often, so a alum block is a good investment….

I went gravel as I can find something to ride out of my back door that is a little bit technical but isn’t technical enough for my mountain bike and doesn’t take as much effort to ride there. Got few up loading the car to just go out on the bike when I can cycling to somewhere and have a bit of fun.

I’ve got 3 Signature knives from Robert Welch. Didnt break the bank but great quality. The sharpening tool is effective and dead easy to use.

+1 for Robert Welch, went to the shop to get a few cheap knifes again and came back with a set of these + sharpener, got about 3 years on them now. lifetime guarantee and customer service is pretty good as well from what I hear, thankfully not had to use it.

if they’re using past it’s sell by kit we are screwed!!!

If it ain’t broke don’t spend millions finding a replacement for it.

IMO this is the sort of expenditure that should have been chopped years ago, when Nhs and public sector was getting dry shafted, be interested to see if it keeps going as economy tanks.

More than half the kit in service is older than the people servicing it.

i guess the Typhoons and Sentry’s might be having to keep an eye on the Russian military planes that enter UK airspace(?)

Probably a exercise, they would be going PDQ if it was a shout.
The remote RADAR heads will be keeping a eye on things approaching our airspace.

Pickers are grafters. Having worked somewhere with most of the land rented out to farmers and having seen the pickers out there is every bit of weather the Cornish coast could throw at them, I know that in general the British public wouldn’t hack it. They would need a seriously big carrot (or stick) to get out of bed to go picking.
I used to hate picking Daffs… but it got me a few quid.

While I could afford it and it would be nice to have a cleaner I can clean up after myself, plus the extra money is spent on the kids (beer)
