Something like this? Never done the full loop but done parts. You could extend and do the most South Westerly point in the UK and the most Southernly point.

https://www.strava.com/routes/5438947

Or the route of the Land End 100 mile event.

Kaff has less clearance and might be slightly heavier/less refined, but at £999 with Sora for the Cotic I know what I would buy..and did buy…
Considering Apex is regarded as just below or equal to 105. Is the Cotic name worth £400 more?

Apparently the Mk2 Stooge will take 29×3 on a 30mm rim.

I like the look of the Swift as I wouldn’t mind running it in 29+.

Correct me if I’m wrong… I don’t think the Swift can run a + in the rear?

Phone with the best camera……. Panasonic CM1… rest of the phone isn’t great now.

Wouldn’t bother with One Plus if you want a good camera, they are OK at best.

Just head for either Devoran or Bissoe (café) and go from there if you are further down.

Or from Portreath, the Barn/Elm Farm doesn’t charge for parking (put some money in a charity tin) where as Bissoe charges for parking.
TBH you could join the Coast to Coast from Porthtowan.

Just fitted the spacer plate for my MaxxRaxx onto my work car.

IMG_20160614_121100-01 by Stephen Williams, on Flickr

I’m only allowed to take 2 bike on this car but it is the 4 bike rack, wasn’t going to grumble for £40…

IMG_20160614_122018-01 by Stephen Williams, on Flickr

I got a light board with it as well, Just need to change the plate, as you see it will need one!

IMG_20160614_122023-01 by Stephen Williams, on Flickr

Easy enough to tip with 2 bikes on, they stayed where they were as well so the ratchet strap must be doing it’s job, they didn’t even rotate.

I may use a innertube or something to protect the frames a bit.

for £40 off gumtree it was a bargain in my opinion.

I had a similar thing from a rugby stud injury a few years ago.
Got it swabbed at the GP and was told it was a Staph aureus infection, cleared up quickly enough with antimicrobials but can remember it itched horribly for a few days!
I later learned that S. aureus tends to live up ones nose, so picking your nose and your scabs is ill advised!

Seems the sort of thing I have, started itching today….
Don’t want to go outside for fear of being set to a leper colony…

Just picked up another maxxraxx from gumtree for £40. I find them great! This is my 2nd one.

I just need a sturdy spanner to undo my tow hitch….

Oh thanks for that, I took the decision I don’t want to go back to a chain device. I did think they aren’t that bad but looking back on it they weren’t great, I’ve been spoilt by an EBB.

The Niner Ros 9 looks nice, especially in the purple! Bit out of my price range from what I have seen.
SIR 9 is a sunning looking bike but don’t think I can run an Alfine with the rear dropout set up.

It’s looking like I’m back to either Singular Swift or the Stooge, they look pretty similar, the L swift is a bit longer wheelbase but the Stooge has the better standover, which is the main reason for the possible change.

My drop bar Sram Apex Kaff was £649. (special offer)

On-One has the drop bar Kaff listed still.

I was going to suggest the cheaper but not so nice Kaffenback with flat bars but it looks like the Kaffenback has gone from the PX shop.

Right this is where I am at the moment.
I’m thinking a outgoing Sherpa and fit a chain tensioner. The frame is slightly cheaper and made with a “brandname” steel. For £400.
I’m thinking it should last me a good few years!

Only problem is I would require a new headset, seat post and a few other parts which shifts the balance of the bike but not by a great deal! If I buy budget to get the job done for the moment.

Or I could just buy a Swift/Stooge and have a direct swap….

Is the 853 badge worth it? Biggest downer is the chain tensioner.

Skankin_giant
Free Member

Yea thats whats worrying me, as I do like how the Swift rides, just feel I sometime need something that bit more aggressive. They don’t have a Sherpa in the shop but they have the Switchback. If I had my wheels built 27.5 I would have come home with the 18″ Switchback frame he had there for £350…. don’t fancy another wheel build this soon after the last fiasco.

The more I think about it the old Sherpa at it’s current price makes the most sense…. It’s a tad cheaper than both the Swift and Stooge…
I would have to run a chain tensioner and it would be a change in headset, is the Reynolds 853 worth it?

@BillOddie – Um…. No racing just play really, bit of trail centre and some open moor land really, Dartmoor, Exmoor etc. Looked into bike packing but doubt I will have the time for it really.
And boring stuff with the family that is a little too rough for the road bike.

@ vondally – Beautiful but same issue as the Cotic, for the money the Stanton has horizontal dropouts, or could save a bit and get the older Sherpa.

@ ampthill – Um…well…. sold by a British based company….
Swift has no choice to be hardtail? I’m running suspension up front due to a knackered wrist.
