When you say you’re staying “near” Benbecula, are you staying on it? Or on a nearby island, or in the sea?

Not sure yet….. way things are going I think were going to row from Cornwall…
Will either be Benbecula or North Uist.

so a chance it could work on the tailgate version…

The MaxxRaxx fits on a Transporter with double doors also.

I know it’s on a Yaris but a MaxxRaxx drops down quite well…. picked mine up £40 off of Gumtree.

Wouldn’t bother with Newquay….. and would give Flambards a miss… but I did used to work there and vowed never to pass through the gates to that hell again.

I shall sadly be out of Cornwall in the summer :( off the the Western Islands of Scotland….. yay….

Yeah I like the swift but it probably weighs around the same as my Surly.

F&F the Swift if about 400g lighter. (just from online specs)

Well I found out why I’m having a issue…… my good LBS…… has installed a 11speed cassette joint onto an 8 speed Alfine… no wonder I can’t get all the gears! :x

didn’t find it such a night and day experience as some people, even in terms of feel let alone “performance”.

I was the same, didn’t notice much change until riding a round ring again.
Didn’t notice any performance gain. Though I would like to try oval on my road bike.

Rainy days in Cornwall are cliff walk days aren’t they. That’s how I was raised.

Aye or out on the bike… when I were a boy etc….

BillMC » Do a bit of social research. See if you can find someone cornish. Could be quite entertaining.
    fixed that.

I’m working today but could have made that an easy task.

    Don’t bother with Poldark….
Trip up to Pendeen and Leylant for the mines there.
Eden if you’ve not done it is a OK Visit.
    Falmouth maritime museum.
Pass 15/20 mins out Heartlands but Park in Tesco as the car park is a rip off…
Helston Folk museum is nice but small.

Will not true SS I run with a Alfine and an oval without a problem, hardly any change in chain tension.
Went down to a 32 from a 34 round as I wanted a lower gear. I didn’t notice the difference until I jumped on my road bike, that was a strange ride!

Most fully rigid bikes can take a sus fork though so buy the bike, and put money aside for a spare fork. Win/win.

Thats my plan for the next bike, 29+ full rigid with a 29×2.1 in a sus fork for when I want a change.

Ran full rigid singular swift up until this year, put suspension forks on to try and see if it would help my wrist.
So far I keep forgetting to turn the suspension lock out off….
Looking at going 29+ in the future and go back to ridged, might even try singlespeed again..

This article might provide some insight:

    http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/best-macro-lenses.htm

Didn’t realise people still listened to Ken Rockwell…..
Seems he dislikes the companies without a large marketing budget to afford favourable reviews….

So still not bought anything….. just been told I get to work away for a bit… so that should mean a bit more cash but I wont be back until the end of summer…. so not much point buying a new frame right away.

I’ve been offered a nice Rooster but it’s a Large so am just thinking on that before I go away.

Another option to the list is the new Vassago Jabberwocky while a bit more money than either swift or stooge the 44mm head tube is a bit of future proofing.

Can get good 2nd hand from London Camera Exchange, WEX & Camera World.
CEX Exchange is quite good for finding some bargains but you need to check the the gear out as they don’t grade them like electronics.

I’m a Fuji fan and have a X10 and X30 as my compacts (X-Pro 1 is my main camera), brilliant but a little bulky a stick in the jersey camera.

Worth checking out the Panasonic TZ100, same 1″ Sensor and 25-250mm equivalent zoom.

Thanks, I’ve been looking at the Pacenti DL31 from On-One, as at £20 each I thought it was a bit of a bargain for a quick 29+ build.
