She could where it round her neck like a pedant?

I feel like putting it around her neck, not sure I’m cut out to be a single dad.

Will see what they come back with, dropped them a message before I return it, I might be able to find my 230 box in the meantime and pinch the missing bit off that, I suspect she has thrown that out as well…

I got a slight rash when I first used my 235 but swapped to the other wrist for a bit and it went away and didn’t return. I don’t wear it too tight for everyday use and frequently swap wrists.

Ok thanks for the info, if the refund is denied she will be made to wear it…

Its common for people to be allergic to the nickel in the electro plating process, has it been plated?

I think it might be the silicon used, but she doesn’t have the issue with a fitbit.

You could try asking them, or Garmin, directly.

Radical, I know, but it might just work….

Crazy talk like that will get you thrown off this place….

Contacted them but closed for the night….

Just started riding again after a bone graft on my wrist (non-union scaphoid), went from a rigid 29er to a 650b Plus with 120mm front forks, wrist feel a lot better for it, carbon alt bars as well helped.

Love taking my “road bike” (Kaffenback) off road, great laugh.

Took my father-in-laws hybrid around Castlewellan..that wasn’t fun with toe clips and narrow bars wasn’t fun….

I’d imagine a Lefty is the stiffest though this would require a new stem/wheel so probably not what you are looking for.

Yep was going to say the same thing.

Got a Kaffenback which is OK but I’m not 100% happy with it, was looking at a Cotic but the Genesis Equilibrium Disc 725 looked a better buy but other stuff had to be paid for so will be sticking with the Kaff.

It does what it says on the tin, more Skoda than Audi.

Singular Swift, though I’m not sure who is offering complete build but I would have thought you could get something for £1200?

    Epic bike of epic epicness.

Deed is done, misses isn’t happy but at least I will be seen….and I can feel a little bit good about myself for using a LBS while buying British lights (does it count when they are discounted…)

thanks for that info, everyone tells me Exposure are the mutts but the tight Cornishmen in me is finding it hard to warrant them…… the C&B Seen City Slicker is more pocket friendly…… will probably sneak out and buy the light when the misses isn’t looking…

Gutted I chickened out on the 1200Lm Mk6 at £166 or whatever it was….

Parcel Force did the job on my frame and wheels, I think I’ve sent forks via MyHermes as well.

Just been looking at the Moon Meteor Storm Pro, a bit brighter than Strada and more pocket friendly….

The Wiggle website photo makes the Strada look a bit pants.

Road.cc has a good comparison tool but it doesn’t really have the off road lights from Exposure.

Thanks for that image, looks like it will do what I want as I’ve had a few things jump out the hedge at me, badger wasn’t that hard to miss….

I was wondering about the Strada as I ride unlit Cornish back roads to work, my C&B Seen is a bit spotty and I don’t think I would trust the battery as far as I could throw it…. but was looking at the Strada and using the C&B seen as the helmet light.
Thought I don’t really ride off road at night I wouldn’t mind the option of cutting through Tehidy Woods on the way home.
Just the price that is putting me off at the mo. The Hope R2i is another option for me but not as good “road” beam pattern from what I can tell.

Hmmm don’t quite need a trailer that big, only a Erde 142, will be intrested to see what “eco” cars will covered if the scheme happens.

Hmmmmm the Turbo in my 55 plate Yaris diesel has started to get rattly…. but over 60mpg around town is hard to beat…. though that sort of scheme could push me into something else….Only issue I have is I need something that can tow trailer…..

The concept was good the quality of materials and clips were crap.

The Altura ones are like that… on my third and even thats broke….

Only one I’ve been on is Castlewellan, and then didn’t have a good look around as was borrowing my father-in-laws hybrid (with toe clips)… seemed pretty fun from what I did… hoping to get my bike over at some point, but the rentals looked half decent.

There is also Tollymore between Castlewellan and Rostrevor, oh and Castle Ward for some gentle stuff.

I know a good holiday home close to the trail in Castlewellan if you are going as a group….

Thanks for the options given, oxym0r0n would be nice but something has come up in my other hobby and that sort of takes priority….
Decided to try some fatter tyres, picked up some Spesh Trigger 700×33’s to give them a go, fitted a new BB the same time, just need to switch out the gear cable and we are ready to try it on the Gnarmac once more.

20-24 miles return is enough for me is a rather hilly West Cornwall, Try to do 1 day shift and both nights normally ends up and just one…. not done it since the summer though due to health/working away, hopefully find out if I can get back on next month…well been told I should be able to ride a week after the chop…..
Also helps we have a full gym, showers and sauna in work especially when it is cold…get the off going shift to fire it up when you are leaving home…

I had a pompetamine which i think is v close to a Kaffenbak, and an Equilibrium disc, which was 100gm lighter. Don’t think they rode much different at all.

Was that the Reynolds one with Carbon forks? Might not be worth the change then…..

Does PX quote frame and forks weight or just frame? Just wondering as a Medium Kaff is quoted at circa 2.2kg and a Medium Equilibrium disc with Carbon forks is quoted at 2.94kg.

Anybody got an opinion (this is stw after all !) between a kaff2 and an equilibrium disc?

Worth upgrading to or too similar?

Good question, the things that are drawing me are carbon forks with tapered headset, a bit more tyre clearance and that Reynolds badge (725).

I think the Croix or Tour de Fer would be too similar.

I upgraded from a disc kaffenback to an escapade. It’s a different ride and I prefer it. Especially as it’ll take 40mm tyres for more off-road fun. It’s ok to ride on the road but it’s not the most exciting bike to ride on road.

    Buts that’s not really what it’s for…

    Thanks for that insight.

I don’t ride road that ofter…mainly as a commute and if don’t want to load the car up to go off proper road somewhere and just go around back roads a bit.

Thanks for the ideas! Will keep it all in mind.
I do like the Cotic Escapade as I can get it local but would mean a new front wheel as far as I can tell.

Whatever I do it needs to be disc specific, and around the 3-500 mark, the Genesis Equilibrium does look tempting.

The other option is to stick with what I got and try some carbon forks, though carbon forks with 1/8th straight steerer and disc mounts seem hard to come by?

I think I find it a tad stiff, I had a Cannondale caad8 Saeco back in 2006 and that was a dreadful bone shaker, I didn’t keep it long and put me off aluminium until I rode the Cannondale MTB I bought last year, but I still need a steel bike of some sorts…..
Maybe I should try fitting wider tyres and carbon forks…

I did want to get a Ragley Rodwell (Alu I know) before I bought the Kaffenback but couldn’t find one :(

Fairlight Faran frameset and swap over as much as you can?

Yea should of said I was looking frame only…..Salsa Marrakesh looks a good option but I’m not keen on the colour…

    thanks for the link.

What’s the obsession with boost rear ends?

    142 x 12 seems plenty good enough.

    I was thinking that…

    I am amazed.

How can there be so many people on STW who don’t own detached homes?

Living in Cornwall (and from Cornwall) I feel lucky just to be able to afford my own home!

Our house was built in 2008 and sound with the neighbours is OK tbh we don’t hear them and have not had a complaint (must be saints!) from them even with our children who I’m sure are crossed with elephants! The problem with ours is the floors, the noise down stairs from anything heavier than a feather on the floors upstairs sounds like thunder.
The houses are always warm but let down by shite soft wood windows which lets in the odd draft, and I don’t think the water pipes were fitted by a plumber….
