Got the boy (11) a Moto E30, does the job and the free unlimited social (not that he has any) and youtube (+other videos) is a good deal from Voxi.

I did an hours very local blast after work last night and didn’t take anything, not even a drink. It was absolutely brilliant. Felt like a kid on a bike again

It’s how I go around Castlewellan bike park. unless I break myself it’s a 30min or so walk home, I don’t miss carrying half the earth.

Epson Ecotank here. Got mine in 2017 after getting fed up of a Canon ink drying up while sitting there. Though printing coloring stuff for the kids etc. I didn’t get through the supplied ink until the lock downs and we had to print for home school, filled up then and not since.

Yea, it wouldn’t be my choice for anything more than gnarmac or canal path. Ideally for me to pick up a few beers.
I’m ok with alt bars, got On-One OGs on my MTB due to knackered wrist.

Well bought now. Will do the job for me as a casual pub bike, got mountains etc at home so this is more about transport than exercise. Had a fun trip around last night for a casual ride need to make use of the PDW Takeout basket at some point as that was thrown in (£85 accessory! :-O).
It fit the bill as it was local/walking distance. I don’t have a car here and this was in the town/village next to me, the guy was also nice enough to meet me part way as I’ve twisted my ankle…

Thanks, all seemed good on that front. It’s hardly been used by the looks of it.

Bristol/Belfast/Bristol has been fine the last few times. A few flights around mine have been canceled so not holding my breath.
Dublin next month, so a tad worried about that one, they finish a strike a few days before….

Ergh, first running injury after starting in November.. flowly got up to 22.30min 5k’s from 31 mins so been quite pleased with myself. Was going with a bit of spirit around the park run and had to dodge someone who stopped in front of me, hit a rock and over the ankle goes. Thankfully not broken and I can put weight on it but it’s very purple.

Slow road to recovery for me… sad times.

Thanks all, bought a 2020 Ghost Hybride Square Trekking B5.8, seemed to have found a half decent deal for one in her size. About £1750 instead of £2999. Lets see how much she uses it now….

    @sandwich
    , maybe worth a conversion kit….

Aye the Ghost has a Bosch (Performance CX) with either 75nm or 85nm if torque, so that should drag her up a vertical wall….

Thanks all, we’re looking to spend about 2-2500 on one.
Ideally something with a crank motor than a hub motor, we’ve got a few options, the Marin and a Ghost seem good at the moment.
Thanks @Nobeerinthefridge a Ridgeback was on the list but was concerned about the overall build. The Marin/Ghost seems better for the money.

Love my Atacs wouldn’t be without them, the only other pedals I’ve enjoyed to use as much were Speedplay Frogs, its a shame they seem to have stopped doing them.
The SPDs I tried ended up in the bin, hateful things.

Had an Alfine 8 on my MTB and went back to gears when I had a good deal on a complete build, if I used the MTB more I’d be getting a thru axel rohloff!

I’ve got a top box from Clas Ohlson (CoCraft IIRC) lovely made thing, better than the Halfords roll cab it sits on.
My uncle bought the Cocraft set when he sold his MAC tool cabinet when he retired, been happy with them.

I have a Pentax Auto 110 and a XA, sadly the battery bay on the 110 keeps splitting. Good fun to use though and I’ve adapted the lenses to my Fuji.
I also have the Minolta 110 SLR mk1 which is just mental and not as nice to use as the Pentax 110.

Fuji X30 took over as my main camera for quite a while, did everything I wanted it to do and had a mic input, which my X-Pro 1 didn’t. Bought an X-H1 during their offers, so the X-Pro and X30 are sitting at the bottom of my camera cabinet. The X10 which has better B&W than the X30 IMHO was a decent camera as well, sadly no evf just a dumb viewfinder.

Went mental after lockdown 1.0 and bought some Le Creuset pans from the outlet centres, decent and a workout lifting them, got fed up with teflon rice from the Circulon ones.

My well seasoned mineral steel frying pan is fantastically non-stick with a bit of oil.. but my wife wont use it..

I don’t think my wife would be to happy to have an engine powered washing machine, no mater how repairable it is, 2 stroke spots on the linen is never a good look.

Source: my experience, in my younger days I was a pretty good photographer – was the tog for my Sister’s wedding (not paid, as a wedding present to her and my BiL). It was the most stressful thing I have ever done, and I vowed to never do it again.

This, I did my sister’s and my cousin’s weddings and had less hair after each…

I did photography A level and did my cousin’s wedding about that time, that put me off going Uni to do it and try and make a career in it, plus I didn’t think I could make enough money of photos of old buildings and collapsed mine workings….. I’ve kept it as a hobby and enjoy it.

I bought a Fohn gilet from Wiggle and have been happy with it, plenty warm enough for the 2-mile school walk in the mornings. I will be looking at the jacket when my next one is completely had it, got one more winter yet! Worth noting the orange is ORANGE!
Though I only went with it as I wanted the Alpkit but missed out in the sale….

Also, Jack Wolfskin’s in the Outlet villages had some in at £40 the other week.

Ditched my road bike and made a gravel bike up (Singular Kite with 43mm rubber). Been used from road to coastal path to bridleway to the odd blue route. Not ridden my mountain bike in a year…
Lycra and clipless optional I prefer both…

Grandfather had a 1.9 205 N/A, was slow but he was 80 and was probably getting to/past the sight requirements…. did ok MPG wise for what he used it.

We have the BX TZD with the 1.9 turbo, much more usable.

Best car I had for long-distance commuting was a little Mk1 Yaris d4d. 70mpg on the drive from Cornwall to Watford and the occasional trip up to Berwick, £35 to tax and cheap to insure, oh and bombproof, flow plugs are a s**t design on these. Yaris Verso/Estate mini camper…. might be ok if your 4ft… can be done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sePNDgmYwGI

One tester at a place I worked at cut the leads off any failed items.

That what I used to do, but the equipment was looked after/bought by me.

Though failing the kettle of the guys who were constant knob heads was quite pleasing…. obviously, I didn’t dry boil it for a few seconds before testing it…..

One of the guys who used to work with me (Whole left over a year before!) was getting stuff from Amazon, dodgy Chinese phones etc, contacted him and it was nothing he ordered so it all went in the bin!

Not sure how bad it would be but it would be quite a nice ride from Falmouth to Roskillys Ice cream farm in St Kerverne taking in the Halford Ferry, it’s about 18km there from Falmouth.

I have a 19″ Rock Lobster frame that’s never been built in 10 years you can have if you want to come to Sussex to pick it up?

snap his arm off! I always wanted a Rock Lobster, always had P7…

If thats not been used for ages, this points to storage conditions IMO.

Where and how was it stored?

It’s either from the inside out or damage from the outside working in. Storage in a damp shed wont have helped either. I tend to waxoil the inside of my steel frames as they live in a shed/garage.

I’d stick a borescope in to have a look at the rest of the frame, if looking ok few spots of weld and she be alright!
