Agreed, the guys behind Bird are really genuine and professional.
They are riders themselves and when I organised a demo ride at Swinley they couldn’t be more helpful.

I’ve tried to contact them 8 or so times over the years.
    I’ve never received a response.

Is it wrong that I want to build my Aqua stooge with many purple parts? 😛

Love mine. I was tempted to sell it and then when I ride it I fall back in love. I’ll keep this one forever.

… since I got my CX bike sorted.
I can get long road miles in with some fun detours through the fields.

I don’t think Mojo coat the stantion. I believe that you get a whole new stantion crown assembly.

Looks good! Shame they got rid of SA though. The long pedal mixed up the results.

    Then:
    Kona Stinky
    Norco A-line
    Rigid on-one inbred

    Now:
    SC Solo/Bronson/Bantam
    Orange 5 650b
    Anything with Di2
    Cannondale FS with a lefty

    So, explain the Stooge

That’s a rigid SS with some grippy tyres for winter. Zero maintenance bike. Very different to my Chumba with gears and sus.

Lots of team bikes get sold off.
There’s also nothing stopping the fan boys from stickering something up.

Bikes in the flat are safe but the bikes in the communal gated lock up have my motorbike lock, D-lock and a couple small cheap cables.

Yeah, you know I’ve got a problem Matt 😆
If you’re nice I’ll let you have a go at Swinley sometime.

Payrise and overtime means the MSc loan should be gone by the end of the year 😀

Nearly all parts have been ordered.
I’ll start the build tomorrow. Can’t wait!

    Spec for me:
    SS 32×18
    XT cranks
    740mm low rise devinci bars
    50mm Kona stem
    Charge Spoon
    SS seatpost
    Deore brakes & 160mm rotors
    Cane Creek headset
Flows on ProII- not sure on tyres yet.
    KMC chain
    Then just pedals and done!

Total cost around £800 and should weigh about 25 lbs.
This build will be my winter hack bike/no maintenance option.

These codes still work for anyone interested!
F&R Deore brakes for £52. Crazy.

Looks like two unused bikes to me.. that advantage tyre is sparkly clean 😉

It’s always N+1. You’ll want another bike in a couple months if you sell this!

I sold my road bike for a CX bike so that I could ride long distances that may include some rough sections not suitable for a road bike. I found that the CX bike can do everything the 29er can do! I was so surprised at how good it is off-road. It beats me up a bit more and the descents are more technical but overall I think it’s more fun. I’m not even sure why I have the 29er any more. It doesn’t get ridden. Think I’ll just SS it for winter.

Might be an idea to keep the CX and then just use the other bike for winter?

I love the look of these.
What do the DL bikes have over the none DL version?

Banjo are a great bunch and Mark is a top guy who goes out of his way to help. I’d have a chat with them.
There is also AW Cycles in Reading who are very professional and have a great range of services and kit.

I would suggest a set of RS Sids ’14 with whatever features he requires.
There are very good value options online at the moment.

I’ve used Spoons forever and then the scoop came out.
I’m a convert. Much prefer the spoon.
I think it is harder and has less padding but has more flex.
Suits me perfectly. I’m a rugby build so maybe I’m inducing more flex..

How about a set of Revs? They seem to sit between Pikes and Sids.

Black- the black stantions/lowers absorb heat energy and warm up the oil making them more viscous and thus reduce stiction/friction offering better perfomance making the ride te awesumz and super plush.

£300+ to fix some 6 year old forks?
You can buy a brand new pair for a little more!

I would do as Simon says- home service and run into the ground. You’ll be surprised how much longer they’ll live.
