Bought some cheapo lights, gloves, soft shell and mudguards for the commuter.
The Colchester Aldi still has huge amount of stocks in all sizes.

I think it covers all grounds and they all do things very differently- just need a 140/150mm FS bike as my N+1.

In the past I’ve had major over lap between bikes. I found that they did the same thing but handled very differently so I never got used to it. I found it frustrating.

Yes, I was charged £23.50 for import tax/duty.
I believe that they marked the value below what I paid (even though I didn’t ask them to do this).

What’s the date for the ride Weeksy? Wouldn’t mind coming along, plus it’s for charity.

The official spec list looks spot on! Would be nice to know the price of upgrades/downgrades.

I saw a chap outside the Food Co in Colchester with a Bird T-shirt on. Was going to stop and ask about it but he was with family. I assume it was one of the owners as it’s a bit early for fanboys.

Aye, interested! My brothers building up a road bike so this would be ideal. Let me know :)

Fair point- was being lazy and looking at just your post.
Weight isn’t everything though and rather than just steel it features some Ti too.

Am I right in thinking the XTR will fit on a normal freehub body too? That saves even more money.

Each to their own. Glad Shimanos in the game (with a cheaper price and retro fit option too).

Would just like to point out that Shimano XTR M9000 cassette is half the price of XX1 at £160 !

In fact the M9000 groupset is good value. Priced about £590 on CRC.
I know what I’ll be going for.

    I’d look at Sids/Reba/Revelations

If you fancy a change of scenery then Swinley is just down the road.
I live near Compton- would happily meet up for a ride sometime.

All my electronics are from the US (inc. Iphones 4-5). Never had an issue with anything.

Looks nice! Wish they did the Works in the orange.
Any comments on how the Pike feels? 35mm stantions at 130mm must feel very solid.

Hope hoops for £200 is a bargain! If you fancy selling them I’ll take them. Share the love

    I’d say Yes.
I’ve had various issues with FSA/On-one/SS from fitting to finding spares.
Hope just seem to work. They are a good price with great support and all spares always available. I’d also consider Cane Creek. Never had issues with them either but less bling and spares not always available.

I can find all files uploaded by user ID ‘x’ between now and a month ago.
It gives me just over 2000 files. I now need to identify which ones contain a space in the file name. Sadly we don’t have capacity to check every single file.

Thanks for all the advice- sadly none of them are working.

The issue is that the 8 digit code is the unique ID of the document. Trying to find the numbers is impossible. Two users user one username and uploaded files over the last month- roughly 2000.
One user did it correctly, 8 digits and no space, whilst the second user did it incorrectly, 8 digits including a space at the end. The files are essentially lost in our library.

    From here

Good to know the prices will be more in line with the other 29+ options.

The problem is I don’t know what the file name is that are saved under.
We had a staff memeber upload hundreds of files but they saved them in the wrong location.
I know all the files are 8 digits followed by a space, ‘01234567[space]’.

The Dirt Wizard looks much better as a winter tyre. It’s also significantly cheaper. I’ll wait for them I think.

    29er 120mm-130mm
    650b 130-140mm
    26” 140-150mm

I think anything over 140mm is overkill really.

UnLuckily my Stooge won’t fit a 29+ in the back!

So tempted to buy one of these. Probably worth an extra £10 for the Exo version.

Depending how soft they are they might last two sloppy winter seasons? Giving it’s muddy and wet they shouldn’t wear as quick or at least that’s my experience. So £110 over two ‘years’.. might be able to justify that.

Just spotted these photos.. Look’s like there’s still hope! Personally liking the sounds of the Aeris. If the Rocket goes 650b or 29” I might be interested.

The photos on mickmcds flickr are really good! Looks like some high quality manufacturing. I want to see more. I would happily spend a few more £££ for nice UK kit like this. A nice change from Hope, who seem to have dominated the UK manufacturing market.

Not sure what bash would work with the m980 cranks as they have the tab covers. If you can run them without the covers then I guess a normal bash would work? Again, bash matches the BCD of the cranks so if its 104mm you should be fine.

I guess you’ll be replacing the cassette too. Have you seen the One-up 42t cog? http://www.oneupcomponents.com/products/42-tooth-sprocket – might be worth considering if replacing the drivetrain. Gives you greater gear range and closer to 11spd but far cheaper.

Long vs short cage also depends on the range of the cassette. Seems that lots of people can run 11-36t with a short cage. With the new clutch mechs the cage length gets less important as it doesn’t slap around much anymore.

Save yourself some cash and buy a Works/E-13/RaceFace/Hope/Superstar N-W chainring. All are cheaper and do the same job.

Nope- Narrow wide can be used with any gear combination on the back, 1×9/10/11. Not sure it works with 6/7/8 speed due to the chain.
Using a clutch mech will further reduce the chance of dropping a chain though.

I pull through the headtube with the flared bits pointing out. It compresses as you pull it through and expands a bit when you reach past the narrowest point (the headset cup). Hope that makes sense.
