Merlins been great! They built my wheelset and got it sent to me within 5 days. Also had the most options, cheapest price and (from experience) great wheel builders.

(Sounds like tweekcycles. Took my money and took them three weeks just to let me know that the distributor has runout. Long time to reply to emails and refund the money)

Front wheel build between my EX500 rim and ArchEX was 100g with the same spokes, hubs and nipples so that should mean that the arch is 400g and the ex500 500g. Haven’t weighed the rear yet.

    Ps: Lovely wheelset.

I managed to get six punctures on two bikes within half a days riding at Gawton. Ended up going back to the car after almost every run :( ! Tried all sorts of tyre pressures. Needless to say I know run tubeless.

I had the same problem. He didnt have a bike box so I had to wait just over two weeks. Communication was slow (one email every 4/5 days) but he did fit the headset for free and gave me free postage.

Just pop the bearings out of the chain device and type the code into ebay/bearing supplier website.

You should try Uni! I keep getting told that if you remember what went on the night before you clearly didn’t have a great time.. :?
My social groups are diverse but that seems to be a reoccurring theme. They go out to get drunk (which automatically makes you happy?). Ive studied in the US and Germany and they are very different to the UK. We are pretty much the only students who PRE-DRINK before going out, to make sure that we are drunk enough (and apparently spend less) to have a ‘good time’ when we go out. The UK has also got the most grim drinking games. I have several mining mates (yes, still a degree) who have liver damage as a result. Seems to make you macho that you can down a £3.90 drink in 2 seconds, yet are fat and general twits. I hate the student drinking culture but this seems to be the same across a lot of the young population (18-30 ish). I do love going for a couple pints with friends in a pub or in the sun and just chat where I can still remember the conversation and wake up for an early morning ride. What do the public link with student and night life ? Drunks, drugs, messy, fighting, chundering animals and recklessness. How people get kicks from spending £50 on a juice they’ll throw up, give them hideous headaches and wont allow them to remember the previous night is beyond me. As they say, everything in moderation. Hopefully student culture in the UK will catch on someday  .

You’ve still got a front brake

I’d just buy a spare set. Can always use them in the future.

None of my close friends ride so I go out by myself most of the time. Then once every so often I meet up with a riding buddy. Push myself more (as I can make all sorts of odd sounds on the climbs) and dont feel embarrassed when I catch my wide bars on both sides and go over the bars.

The Evo can handle big hits and rough stuff. Its slacker and has more travel than the normal sj. By your description I would have thought that you’d want the normal sj over the evo. Ive ridden the Evo and SJ and for all round ability i’d go for the normal sj. The evo was something special on the downs but a bit wandery on the climbs. Cant comment on the yeti.

Hopes are so easy to work on and have great customer service. Kings require a special tool to service them and aren’t as friendly to work with.

(Ive just got ProIIs on Arch EXs’ too).

Im running a X-fusion Hilo. Its been fantastic and not skipped a beat despite some hard riding and plenty of use. Buy new and it has good back up/warranty. Looks good in full black too.

On my cycle I often see a space that someone has put 4 bags of gravel in to reserve for themselves. Its public parking, no markings. Really tempted to take them for good (they cant be disabled if they have to move them everyday).

These would be on my short list: TRc, Yeti Arc5c, Bandit, Dixon, Dexter, & Camber. Ive tested most of them. They can all take a hammering and are built well.

Would of thought Canyon, YT, Rose or some bargains from last years (Pauls, etc). Otherwise I would just hunt around and build up my own spec.

Luckily I spend half my time in Germany.
Better cycling culture and your bike dosent get stolen at every given moment. Back in the UK its a different story.

The POC Trabec feels like it offers more protection on the lower part of the head (dont know the scientific word for that part). Comfy too! Its just a bit expensive..

When my sister was younger we put them on her bike. She never got run over (but then neither did I)..

I think it might work to be fair! Not sure the aero crew or the hipsters will like it. I see them a lot in Germany.
